Basically what is happening in the Church today is what happened to Eve when she ate the apple, or when folks tried erect the Tower of Babel.

People believe that these being modern times men are enlightened and clever enough to eat of the apple of God and Evil. In other words to make it all up as they go along. To form their own Church and their own religion. Without being hampered by the fuddy duddy religion our fore parents followed this last 2,000 years. That they know better than all that.

I think the basic temptation our present generation is going through is basically the same one Satan and the Fallen angels fell for long ago. To regard themselves as their own Gods.

That they can do better, think better, be better than God Himself. Pride made manifest.

More than anywhere else this is manifesting in two major battlefields. That of sins of impurity and that of sins against the family. Turn over a stone which happens to be a heretic and I guarantee you will find grave sins of impurity crouching in the darkness of the other side. If you don't believe me read the lives of any of the famous Protestant Reformers like say, Martin Luther and you'll find that their personal lives were ditches of Filth.

So with the Cardinals and Bishops in our Church who are currently leading souls in their millions to hell.

I guarantee in their personal lives as regards purity that they are monsters of abominable practices. You can set your clock on it.

    Monsters.

…I certainly get your point. But just for my own better understanding, I guess Im looking for basic, main examples. I have a sense of certain things, so Im not entirely clueless about mistakes made or evil committed in the Catholic church. But in regards to the pope or what some see is a growing decent into evil in the church, Id just like a list of specifics. Im not taking a stand, here, on one side or the other, nor am I arguing…with anyone. But what, for instance, is going wrong or being done wrong since, say, the era of JP2? I often see posts pointing to grave actions or words in the church, but I dont always see specifics. Likewise, EWTN points to major problems with either this pope or the cardinals, but they talk in such minute details, that no one ever sums it up, for the average idiot like me. Indeed, Ive already stated I have had a few red flags of concern pop up here and there. But Im looking for a comment sort of like, “ ok, here are the top 5 things going on with the pope, vatican or church that are in deep opposition with Catholic teaching. Im not even sure Im framing my question properly. Im simply trying to understand the current state of affairs better

    Summation:

Broadly speaking, the current state of affairs of the Church is not any surprise with respect to Scriptures.. and Church teachings..
Looking back 2000 years ago, the Church has been under attack in various manners by Satan.
Including Jesus' Crucifixion, No sooner did the Apostolic Age of the Church begin . when the Jewish Leadership attacked the Apostles and Jewish Christians ..
Early Communities were fraught with Jewish Interlopers whose intention was to mislead.
Through the centuries, we know of wars against Christianity, and Heresies and Divisions and Protestantism - and devastating Apostasy from within coming from Theologians, Bishops, Nuns, Priests..
Satan has make great strides in leading people away from God .. And turning people against Christianity and religion - especially the Catholic Church.
The CCC tells how the Church is going to follow the Lord in His Passion - and when He Returns? Shall Jesus find any Faith? PS - It is He Jesus who shall Fix all what ails Creation.
BLAME IT ON SATAN AND ACTIVE ANTI-CHRISTIANS LED BY THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST STILL TO ARRIVE ON THE SCENE.

I think I understand your question, and part of my answer is to go to the Church Militant website (https://www.churchmilitant.com/) every weekday evening at 7PM Eastern 6PM Central time to watch their daily news broadcast. BEWARE! They make no claim of balanced coverage and are not afraid to name the elephants in the room. Example: When a priest/bishop/cardinal is saying good things about homosexuality, they will say straight out that this person is in favor of sodomy. They are, however, covering issues in the Church that other Catholic news outlets (including EWTN) will not touch.

Christian Websites are somewhat akin to Early Christian Communities.. Mostly 'good' but as with Judas Iscariot - a few v.bad apples.
They are as magnets to AntiChristian interlopers who pretend to be Christians but slyly work to disrupt, confuse and block Truth.

That said, they are nonetheless Not the basic examples of what the problems of today's World and Catholic Church are.
Today's problems go straight on back to 2000 years of AntiChristianity - with Satan as their 'god'.
He (AntiChrist) is not going to quit - and he may be arriving in the proposed Third Temple in Jerusalem - being peddled as the Messiah..

    from what I gather..
The Warning: the Great Warning is the illumination of conscience that comes shortly before the end times and everyone will personally experience an awareness of their own sinfulness

    OK.... .

This has been happening to me for years - and every day I'm reminded of some faults from my past - and not in a negative way. I'm Sorry for what I'd done - and I Love it.

I've petitioned God to show me.. for reason that without knowing our faults - we cannot eliminate them and thus grow closer to God - as we're called to be.
It's not frightening to those who've solid Faith in our Lord Jesus and Love and speak to our Father as a child of His should!

Yes. I do believe the so-called End Times which precede our Lord Jesus' Return are imminent as in: We're in the Season which Jesus has spoken of.
I'm not one into dates, per se.. But IMBelief .. this very decade - including this year .. shall be very difficult for those who have not a tangible sense of God within them.
IT's? Kind of like a top shelf Examination of Conscience.. which intends to allow us to accede to God's Admonition to Re-Pent / Amend our Behaviors - Faithfully ridding our selves of all our Sins.

AND.. It seems very akin to what occurs at JUDGEMENT "when Christ comes in His glory, and all the angels with him, and in his presence the truth of each one's deeds will be laid bare"

WITH whatever time we have left, earnestly seek to become genuinely Purer - before Judgement Day!

A good place to start would be the Five Dubia (doubts questions, concerns) raised by Cardinals Brandmüller, Caffarra, Meisner, and Burke and which were never answered by Pope Francis but do appear to have been previously addressed by Pope Benedict.

    https://www.thecatholicthing.org/2019/05/11/the-dubia-were-answered/

Dubium One: It is asked whether, following the affirmations of “Amoris Laetitia” (nn. 300-305), it has now become possible to grant absolution in the Sacrament of Penance and thus to admit to Holy Communion a person who, while bound by a valid marital bond, lives together with a different person “more uxorio” (in a marital way) without fulfilling the conditions provided for by “Familiaris Consortio” n. 84 and subsequently reaffirmed by “Reconciliatio et Paenitentia” n. 34 and “Sacramentum Caritatis” n. 29. Can the expression “in certain cases” found in note 351 (n. 305) of the exhortation “Amoris Laetitia” be applied to divorced persons who are in a new union and who continue to live “more uxorio”?

Dubium Two: After the publication of the Post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation “Amoris Laetitia” (cf. n. 304), does one still need to regard as valid the teaching of St. John Paul II’s Encyclical “Veritatis Splendor” n. 79, based on Sacred Scripture and on the Tradition of the Church, on the existence of absolute moral norms that prohibit intrinsically evil acts and that are binding without exceptions?

Dubium Three: After “Amoris Laetitia” (n. 301) is it still possible to affirm that a person who habitually lives in contradiction to a commandment of God’s law, as for instance the one that prohibits adultery (cf. Mt 19:3-9), finds him or herself in an objective situation of grave habitual sin (cf. Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts, Declaration, June 24, 2000)?

Dubium Four: After the affirmations of “Amoris Laetitia” (n. 302) on “circumstances which mitigate moral responsibility,” does one still need to regard as valid the teaching of St. John Paul II’s Encyclical “Veritatis Splendor” n. 81, based on Sacred Scripture and on the Tradition of the Church, according to which “circumstances or intentions can never transform an act intrinsically evil by virtue of its object into an act ‘subjectively’ good or defensible as a choice”?

Dubium Five: After “Amoris Laetitia” (n. 303) does one still need to regard as valid the teaching of St. John Paul II’s encyclical “Veritatis Splendor” n. 56, based on Sacred Scripture and on the Tradition of the Church, that excludes a creative interpretation of the role of conscience and that emphasizes that conscience can never be authorized to legitimate exceptions to absolute moral norms that prohibit intrinsically evil acts by virtue of their object?

It's not logical that one can say good things about homosexuality and not favour sodomy. What is it to be homosexual, after all? The confusion, deliberate enough, stems I think from the modernist emphasis on 'identity'. There is no reality that is a 'homosexual identity', this is just a figure of the imagination. The reality is that there are homosexual acts, also known as sodomy. The notion of homosexual identity has no reality except as a pretext for engaging in sodomy.

To use Pope Francis' own watery term to describe Joe Biden's support for mass-murder, his thinking and that contained in what Eccles labelled 'amoral lay-teaching' is 'incoherent'. One can believe Christ or one can believe Jorge Bergoglio-one can't coherently believe both. Which is why the dubia were never answered.

I think the basic take of Pope Francis and now of much of the leadership of the Church is of a Deus ex Machina. Very similiar to the beliefs of the Freemasons. A God who as Creator set things in motion but then stands aside from events on Earth, distant, inscrutable, unknowable. As such it is for humans , who are kind of orphans to forge their own path,

As such Scripture is taken as kind of wise counsel as a good Granny might give. Jesus is a very wise man and usually gets thing right, sometimes is not quite up to date on things. The ten commandments are perhaps a good enough rule of thumb but have to updated for the times we live in. The Liturgy is no longer about man worshipping God but rather man communicated with and raising up Mankind in a kind of public meeting or assembly. Any acceptance of the Teachings of the Church is a Rigid Fundamentalism of nasty people unopen to change and the Spirit of the Times. Any reference to the Mystical, the Supernatural or Marian is superstitious nonsense.

I have been reading Marari Vos encyclical of Pope Gregory XVI (1823) on the errors of liberalism (modernism)

    https://www.papalencyclicals.net/greg16/g16mirar.htm

I was struck by the clarity of doctrine - interesting that as far back as 1832 he was defending clerical celibacy and the sacrament of Marriage --

    11. Now, however, We want you to rally to combat the abominable conspiracy against clerical celibacy. This conspiracy spreads daily and is promoted by profligate philosophers, some even from the clerical order. They have forgotten their person and office, and have been carried away by the enticements of pleasure. They have even dared to make repeated public demands to the princes for the abolition of that most holy discipline. But it is disgusting to dwell on these evil attempts at length. Rather, We ask that you strive with all your might to justify and to defend the law of clerical celibacy as prescribed by the sacred canons, against which the arrows of the lascivious are directed from every side.

    12. Now the honorable marriage of Christians, which Paul calls “a great sacrament in Christ and the Church,”[15] demands our shared concern lest anything contrary to its sanctity and indissolubility is proposed. Our predecessor Pius VIII would recommend to you his own letters on the subject. However, troublesome efforts against this sacrament still continue to be made. The people therefore must be zealously taught that a marriage rightly entered upon cannot be dissolved; for those joined in matrimony God has ordained a perpetual companionship for life and a knot of necessity which cannot be loosed except by death. Recalling that matrimony is a sacrament and therefore subject to the Church, let them consider and observe the laws of the Church concerning it. Let them take care lest for any reason they permit that which is an obstruction to the teachings of the canons and the decrees of the councils. They should be aware that those marriages will have an unhappy end which are entered upon contrary to the discipline of the Church or without God’s favor or because of concupiscence alone, with no thought of the sacrament and of the mysteries signified by it.

    And on religious indifferentism --

    13. Now We consider another abundant source of the evils with which the Church is afflicted at present: indifferentism. This perverse opinion is spread on all sides by the fraud of the wicked who claim that it is possible to obtain the eternal salvation of the soul by the profession of any kind of religion, as long as morality is maintained. Surely, in so clear a matter, you will drive this deadly error far from the people committed to your care. With the admonition of the apostle that “there is one God, one faith, one baptism”[16] may those fear who contrive the notion that the safe harbor of salvation is open to persons of any religion whatever. They should consider the testimony of Christ Himself that “those who are not with Christ are against Him,”[17] and that they disperse unhappily who do not gather with Him. Therefore “without a doubt, they will perish forever, unless they hold the Catholic faith whole and inviolate.”[18] Let them hear Jerome who, while the Church was torn into three parts by schism, tells us that whenever someone tried to persuade him to join his group he always exclaimed: “He who is for the See of Peter is for me.”[19] A schismatic flatters himself falsely if he asserts that he, too, has been washed in the waters of regeneration. Indeed Augustine would reply to such a man: “The branch has the same form when it has been cut off from the vine; but of what profit for it is the form, if it does not live from the root?”[20]

And here he condemns 'freedom of speech'.

    14. This shameful font of indifferentism gives rise to that absurd and erroneous proposition which claims that liberty of conscience must be maintained for everyone. It spreads ruin in sacred and civil affairs, though some repeat over and over again with the greatest impudence that some advantage accrues to religion from it. “But the death of the soul is worse than freedom of error,” as Augustine was wont to say.[21] When all restraints are removed by which men are kept on the narrow path of truth, their nature, which is already inclined to evil, propels them to ruin. Then truly “the bottomless pit”[22] is open from which John saw smoke ascending which obscured the sun, and out of which locusts flew forth to devastate the earth. Thence comes transformation of minds, corruption of youths, contempt of sacred things and holy laws — in other words, a pestilence more deadly to the state than any other. Experience shows, even from earliest times, that cities renowned for wealth, dominion, and glory perished as a result of this single evil, namely immoderate freedom of opinion, license of free speech, and desire for novelty.

It is so well written - it is almost like St Peter or St Paul's letters in the New Testament - and based heavily on Sacred Scriptures -

    22. We write these things to you with grieving mind but trusting in Him who commands the winds and makes them still. Take up the shield of faith and fight the battles of the Lord vigorously. You especially must stand as a wall against every height which raises itself against the knowledge of God. Unsheath the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, and may those who hunger after justice receive bread from you. Having been called so that you might be diligent cultivators in the vineyard of the Lord, do this one thing, and labor in it together, so that every root of bitterness may be removed from your field, all seeds of vice destroyed, and a happy crop of virtues may take root and grow. The first to be embraced with paternal affection are those who apply themselves to the sacred sciences and to philosophical studies. For them may you be exhorter and supporter, lest trusting only in their own talents and strength, they may imprudently wander away from the path of truth onto the road of the impious. Let them remember that God is the guide to wisdom and the director of the wise.[31] It is impossible to know God without God who teaches men to know Himself by His word.[32] It is the proud, or rather foolish, men who examine the mysteries of faith which surpass all understanding with the faculties of the human mind, and rely on human reason which by the condition of man’s nature, is weak and infirm.

Not one use of the phrase "concrete situation" or 'concrete reality' - the word concrete occurs 20 times in the verbose encyclical Amoris Laetitia (and the word situation 100 times). AL is 264 pages long.

Whereas Pope Gregory's encyclical is only 9 pages.

Moses only had the Ten Commandments to deal with. Of course, God had no experts to advise Him, so that's maybe why they reserve the right to systematically and progressively break every one of them.
