Must watch video Carol. Thanks for posting it!

I believe the above quote sums up this pope’s mission very nicely.

Funny thing sometimes I get the impression some of the good folks on our little forum don’t view Michael Matt very favorably.

I wonder if others get that impression.

Anyway here’s another good video from him.

    Blizzard, You're very welcome.

I like Michael Matt but I know full well that his videos are not going to give me a sense of calm and since I am often fighting internally to stay calm and peaceful there are certain times I just have to stay away from certain things. I find myself wanting to be informed and I definitely do not want to bury my head in the sand but I want to remain focused on the Triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart and Heaven. Getting angry over what is going on is understandable but it often leads me to become unproductive in my thoughts etc.

In addition, I don't always agree with everything that Matt says but that's usually ok with me. For example, in the video that you posted Matt feels the need to take a shot at Vatican II in relation to what is/has occurred in regard to China and the Vatican/Pope Francis. Personally, I don't see the connection. If you understand what he means, can you please explain it to me?

With this particular video, there are a few things that I was not aware of one thing in particular is the video being shown at parishes throughout the world, I believe, and what is stated in the video.

Carol, I feel the same way you do in the first half of your post. Exactly.
And sometimes when I do listen to him, I come away with an unsettling feeling. Maybe it’s because I think Mr Matt might himself be unsettled. I can get my info from other sources.

    Carol,

Since the Vatican's capitulation to China is what irks me most in these days, I will attempt to answer your question.

First of all is the highlighted Bishop Sorondo's statement: Communist China is the best implementer of Catholic social teaching.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::censored::censored::censored:

The bishop is within Francis' inner circle and there was absolutely no rebuke! It is a lie that afflicts Chinese Catholics with a left hook to the jaw. Sickening. Since that statement the situation has only grown worse in China.

The connection for Matt lies in the fact that the Vicar of Christ is to be the mouthpiece for Christ in the world; Francis' silence is not only an abandonment of Chinese Catholics, but of his responsibility to be the Voice of Christ in the world; Chinese Catholics have been thrown under the bus and there is no rebuttal. We here in the States are rejoicing in Archbishop Cordileone's correction of Pelosi (for the sake of Christ and His honor and the salvation of Nancy's soul), yet Pope Francis appears to abandon the Chinese.

What is the connection with Vatican II? With the fracturing of unity wrought by the Protestant Revolt, with the rise of masonic rebellion initiated in the French Revolution, and with the obliteration of Catholic monarchies in the 19th century, the Church closed in within itself. It remained the clear Proclaimer of Truth, but there was no longer a Catholic civilization. At Vatican II, Gaudium et Spes was promulgated (The Church in the Modern World). It expressed the need for the Church to abandon its "fortress mentality" and engage the world in hopes of being leaven in the dough, in hope of fostering evangelism. This concept appeared to fly in the face of many who viewed the world as under the devil's sway.

So to a number of conservative Catholics this "opening" is viewed as capitulation, a capitulation fostered by Vatican II. The apparent closing of the eyes by Francis to the reality in China, for them, and for Matt in particular, becomes one more example of the Council's bad fruit.

Safe in the Barque of Peter!

German bishops' president 'disappointed' in Pope Francis
    by Christa Pongratz-Lippitt

Bishop Georg Bätzing of Limburg said he was concerned that Francis had adopted a “certain circular discussion culture”.

Bishop Georg Bätzing of Limburg has said that while he still firmly believes in the Church’s capacity for reform, he doubts whether Pope Francis will be the person to carry out those reforms.

For this reason, he is “disappointed” in him, Batzing told Deutschlandfunk in a 26-page interview on 22 May.

Francis was doing what he could by setting the 2023 World Synod in motion where all the reform issues would be on the table, Bätzing admitted. “All groups, including LGBT groups, will be able to participate at the 2023 World Synod”, he said.

However, he was concerned that Francis had adopted a “certain circular discussion culture”.

Bätzing recalled that at the Amazon Synod, when priestly celibacy was being discussed, a majority of dioceses in the region had, under certain circumstances, been in favour of ordaining married men. In the final instance, Francis had decided not to take up the issue.

“Discussion of the issue has not, however, ceased and it will not cease just because the Pope didn’t take it up. Neither will there be less discussion of women’s ordination just because the Pope is of a different opinion. I’ve spoken to Pope Francis several times now and I know he has a decidedly different opinion [on these issues],” Bätzing said.

For this reason Bätzing did not foresee fundamental reforms on such issues as women’s ordination or priestly celibacy within the next five years. That meant that “those who only have their eyes on the priestly celibacy issue or on the question of women’s ordination are certainly in for a disappointment. Neither of these issues will be resolved within the next five years.”

Bätzing was “firmly convinced” that present church teaching on homosexuality must be changed and that it would change in the foreseeable future as it was seen as discriminating against gays.

As for gay blessings, he would never discipline any priest who blessed a gay couple, but he had never done so himself. That was because, on the one hand, he felt obliged to obey the Pope and secondly because if he did, it would attract public attention. “And then attention would be concentrated on what I was doing and not on what the couple being blessed desired.”

This meant he himself was having to perform a balancing act between Church teaching and his own reading of the sensus fidelium (the intuitive beliefs of the body of the faithful). He claimed the two did not make a good fit.

“I'm proclaiming Church teaching – which is my duty – but at the same time I'm fully aware that this teaching is no longer accepted by the faithful. The sensus fidelium has gone further,” he claimed.

“That is something that we must take up theologically and it will lead to changes. That is what I am committed to. I am fully convinced that things will change."

Bätzing also went into the Vatican’s relations with the German Church. The Reformation was still “firmly stuck in the Vatican’s bones”, he explained. Whenever the words “German synodal path” or “together at the Lord’s table”, cropped up, certain Vatican officials immediately cried “Oh dear – the Reformation!” That had narrowed the view of many in Rome, Bätzing claimed.

Thank you Terry. I think I understand a little bit better but I admit that comments from Matt like those will continue to be a huge turn off to me. I am certain that he does not care about my opinion though. For me, it's another win for satan because when we are divided he wins. Peace.

  8. He speaks the truth alot. His manner of getting the truth out may seem brash. If something or someone leaves you unsettled then it is upsetting your soul. Stay away. I am unsettled by what is happening to our Church. This synod is so bad. My opinion also that good Catholics are being spoken to very brashly by our Pope. Our leader. The Eucharist is being given out to people as though it is plain bread. That's what unsettles my soul.

Vatican Admits Participation at Davos Meeting!!!

Davos: The Church as 'global actor of solidarity'

After the pandemic and as war is waged in Ukraine, the world economy is faced with unprecedented crises previously unimaginable. The Pope's words, 'The economy kills' characterized many of the debates at the World Economic Forum in Davos. In the debates at the 'Goal 17' Forum in Davos, in which the Catholic Church also participated, speakers warned that nations are increasingly looking to their own interests.

By Mario Galgano - Vatican City

The participation of religious communities at the World Economic Forum in Davos was a first.

As part of the so-called "Sisters Project", in which religious women participated, religious sisters spent several days in discussions with economists and politicians.

Marta Guglielmetti, executive director of the 'Global Solidarity Fund' solidarity alliance, was among those promoting the participation of religious women in the World Economic Forum.

“It is important and right that it is precisely religious women who can meet prominent figures here and talk to them about global problems.”

Business representatives expressed much appreciation for the Catholic Church's commitment as a "global actor of solidarity."

The CEO of the multinational company Unilever, Alan Jope, stressed this during the "Goal 17" Forum, promising greater commitment to global solidarity.

Mr. Jope underscored the importance of multinationals and large corporations taking their share of responsibility and committing themselves to a better world.

Religious sisters and clergy committed to the weakest worldwide

In collaboration with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, a panel discussion on how "courageous" leaders should help the marginalized was held on Tuesday at the conclusion of the Goal 17 Forum.

Guglielmetti pointed out that there are about one million nuns, religious, and priests who are committed to the weakest around the world, especially migrants, refugees, and internally displaced persons.

Assisting them, Guglielmetti said, means "embodying courageous leadership, which we need for the global recovery after the pandemic.".

In the meantime, the nuns of the Sisters Project have left Davos, while the Forum will continue until Thursday.

Ann, WEF at Davos seems totally crazy to me, I agree with you. Timothy Gordon believes that it is Luciferian.

I watched The Benny Report yesterday and he did a segment about this year's WEF. He had some clips of people who spoke there and I remember two of them. The first one that I recall was about an app, I believe, that is being created for people to keep track of their carbon foot print. Most of the big-wigs there are flying on private jets, what a joke.

Another talk was about the creation of a chip (I guess nano) that people will swallow and it will keep track of what they have eaten.

They also did a talk on how we can reduce climate change by eating insects. Yikes!

Creepy stuff and that it is just three talks. There are many, many others https://www.weforum.org/events/the-davos-agenda-2022

Wow Carol, I don't usually watch videos all the way through but I did this one. The description of the book on Amazon says it
"As a young priest in Rome, Fr. Charles Murr worked closely with Cardinal Édouard Gagnon on the dangerous mission Paul VI had entrusted to that eminent figure: investigating the Vatican curia to uncover membership in Freemasonry.
He was right there at the time. Such a joyful priest, he says the only thing that will save us is Divine intervention and he expects it to be a huge intervention.
