The Fear of God is the Beginning of Wisdom

Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Philippians 2:12

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

A though came to me over and over again last night that I am a total Spiritual Fraud, not only to everyone else but to most of all to myself and thus am destined for hell and to be damned.

I think this Temptation to despair and to doubt the Mercy of God is one people get very often on their Death Beds. They are shown their lives by the Devil but in a very terrible light and so doubting the Mercy of God , give up turning to Him for help and Pardon.

This can be a very powerful temptation because we are in a kind of Catch 22 situation. In the book and film Catch 22 a USAF Officer wanted to get out of the war. He wanted to go home and get discharged. It seemed easy to do so ; all he had to do was to pretend to be mad . But the Catch 22 was that mad people could not say they were mad. For if they mad , how could they know it? They would be the last to know.

So with this temptation to despair. The Devil tempts us to despair by telling us we are deluded and huge sinners outside the Mercy of God . Catch 22 is that sinners are the last people to know they are sinners. So we cannot say we are not destined for hell for how could we really know? Catch 22; we would be that very last to know. We would be blinded by our sins.

I finally got of this by understanding that even if I was the worst sinner whoever lived and a total and complete fraud well then well enough. May God forgive me and may I do better with God's Grace from now on.

Let me start again right from the beginning. Let me begin the Spiritual Path today anew.

With this thought the temptation fled.

 

That is one proverb that will always wow people and get them thinking no matter how far from God they are I have found on a few occasions.

 

You know I sometimes think that the folk who fear hell the most are maybe they who should fear it the least.

Whilst those who fear hell the least are often those who should fear it the most.

 

So true.

 

One of the saints--not sure which one--may have been Padre Pio or maybe St Faustina said most souls in hell didn't believe in hell. I think that is true of our age---false mercy and presumption.

 

I imagine the first emotion of a soul who finds itself in hell would be one of huge , huge, surprise. How did I get here?

Jesus told St Peter that Satan had been given permission to, 'Sift you like wheat'. This is the Great Sign of the Times we are living through. We are all of us being sifted like wheat.

 

I'll tell you what has happened to me over the last week and you can judge for yourselves.

About a week ago I woke up to the most unreal sound. It was like some wild animal. A kind of snarl or howl. Very unsettleling.

Since then my pick up truck broke down. They fixed it . But the part broke down again, they had to tow me back to the garage and install a new one.

Again this morning the engine light came on . The mechanic is coming down with his computer to see what it is. I have booked into a camp site for nine days and cannot get a refund.

My phone broke, the screen went I have no idea what caused it.

My toilet will no longer work. I need to get a plumber.

My robot vacuum cleaner has stopped working I have no idea why.

In work my boss forbade me to use the disablilty toilet. I had to go to Human Resources and am in dispute.

Last night I was plagued by thoughts that I was doomed to hell.

Something is going on.

But I am happy and cheerful looking out the window. Waiting for the mechanic.

But I have no doubt I am under intense demonic attack. Both directly physically and spirtually

 

I think what it is , is that I have been praying for a poor person who has been plagued by thoughts that he is doomed to go to hell. Our Lady promised me that it would be sorted.

But I suspect that the demon that was at him is now attacking me. It is quite powerful.

Bring it on.

I don't care. I offer it all up.

But if you have a moment please pray for me.

I could do with it at the moment.

 

So long as the dogs still work, I will be OK..

Dear Lord Jesus please hold Padrig close to Your most Sacred Heart. Give him the grace and strength to get through this difficult time of testing according to Your holy and perfect will. Amen.

I think it is because we are not God. God uses unexpected people, things and events, in all the events of our life.
I hope God has reserved your camp site.

It is a great joy to suffer..this is very little.

I have no doubt I am under direct very powerful demonic attack as a result of a carry on demonic attack on someone else.

But I am happy enough with it. They have gone with this to the wrong person. We will see...

 

I should have known. The person I was praying for had symptoms of very, very powerful Satanic curses. Goodness knows what they did as Sacrifice.

They must have used something very,very powerful. I am suffering a direct bounce on effect from him to me, as a result of my prayers.

They will regret it. This will not go well for them. This, for me is very inconvenient and uncomfortable.

I promise you when this demon returns on them, they will be very,very sorry indeed.

Very, very,very, very sorry indeed.

Not from my anger but from the Justice and Anger of God.

 

Praying for you Padraig. And really all of us, myself included, as we are being sifted and tested. The only way through imho, more prayer, fasting, and confession. These are the only weapons in this battle.

I suppose a very good Sign of Hope is to actually know that when you are in a storm is to know that you are there...

 

This sure sounds like demonic attack to me. My close friend has suffered a series of things like this--mechanical failures and breakdowns and oppositions. She prayed and asked Our Lord--am I being harassed (by thecdevil)? She worries that she gives the evil one more credit than he deserves sometimes. Well that night she was all set to watch a program on EWTN that she had long been looking forward to and suddenly her cable screen went dark with this message "you no longer have access to this channel" --reset the cable. She tried the other channels. Finally she got the Spectrum tech team. They were baffled. It simply wouldn't connect to EWTN no matter what they did. After much tech work they finally brought it back. There was NO reason for it to have happened. They were stumped. She said "I think the Lord showed me. This is demonic attack."
This is a terrible testing for you Padraig. I will keep you in prayer today.

 

So strange that you mention the toilet Padraig.
My husband, had a colonoscopy this last Thursday. All is fine Praise God, my husband sees many doctors on a regular basis and has many medical unexplainable symptoms, in most every part of his body.
My Prayer for decades is that God will heal him. Over the last 6 months he has required assistance in toileting; I bless the house with Holy water about every 3 months (including the toilet). Currently I am struggling with many internal issues regarding his increasing need for attention and actual physical dependence on me.

I have always done all for love but occasionally I am plagued with doubts and wonder whether I am enabling. I spoke about this in confession yesterday.

I believe God is in charge no matter what the reasons and this has been a great consolation for me.

My Prayer for you Padraig is that God will keep you Spiritually and Physically fit. Amen.
