Consecration of Russia to Immaculate Heart of Mary Friday

Discussion in 'Positive Critique' started by Katfalls, Mar 22, 2022.

  1. 41The Lord said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. 42* There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.” Luke 10
A good suggestion Mario but thank God we have the one thing we need right now: the consecration. I wonder how many popes have officially and specifically propagated the five first Saturdays devotion? But for now we have what we need. Thank God.

A lot of people have done the Five First Saturdays in the last couple years, in addition to many over the last several decades who were quietly doing this devotion in reparation and waiting for the proper consecration to occur. I know in my own family, my grandparents did it many years ago, then my parents with us kids, then I did it with my husband again last year. Now my sister and brother are doing it starting in April.

Please God, He will accept the years and years of First Saturdays done by faithful souls, and hopefully the word will get out over the next few months on how we can all follow up on the consecration with the First Saturdays, rosaries, and penance. I know Lifesite news is already spreading the word. Perhaps a great revival in interest in Fatima will occur when things start changing in the world due to the consecration. Many new people who have never really known the message may be finding out soon...like Glenn Beck's listeners, for instance!

Thank you HH. For those unable to watch on the 25th, I noticed that EWTN will also have an encore of the Consecration on March 26 at 12 noon EDT.

This just gets darker and more troubling as we go. Words matter! I think we are in for a very bad time if this is what Taylor Marshall seems to be saying. Someone in thd comments said if something seems too good to be true then maybe it is too good to be true--in other words a lie. We really are off the end of the map where there be dragons if this wording is what it seems to be.

I think that people could be over-reacting because some translations are not the best. Someone posted this in the comment section beneath Taylor Marshall video:

"You find this in byzantine hymns (especially the Akathist, where it appears 3-4 times) and even in some Latin chants ('terra caeli') - e.g. "Caeli enarrant gloriam dei filii verbi incarnati facti de terra caeli". It isn't anything to do with pachamama. This is absurd."
Using a Byzantine title for Our Lady is understandable considering Russian and Ukrainian Catholics would be Eastern Rite. The Spanish translation seems to be the most weird but the Pope won't be doing the consecration in Spanish and the Spanish Bishops can use a more appropriate title or translation. It doesn't affect the words of the consecration.

This makes a lot of sense. The translations had to be done quickly and if they weren't familiar with this Byzantine title of Mary then the translation would seem odd and awkward in these other cultures and languages.

Unfortunately the devil is again sowing seeds of doubt and confusion, what he does best. I was wondering what he'd try to do just before the consecration. I hope and pray that people keep their hearts focused on what we're all doing this for...consecrating Russia and atoning for offending Mary's Immaculate Heart. Let's trust Mary in this. She knows our hearts.

That may have been wishful thinking on my part. I was corrected on the other thread. Oh well, time to take Padre Pio's advice to pray, hope and don't worry.

Hmm ok. Sigh. I quite honestly don't know what to think of this. Thankfully the translation my bishop will be praying says Queen of Heaven.

The consecration itself is being made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, right?

Yes, the consecration is to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I was worried at first that they had dropped mention of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart in the consecration but they haven't so it seems to be OK.

I saw this comment under the video by a Spanish speaker:

"FYI: In Spanish “Earth of Heaven” is “LA TIERRA DEL CIELO”. “Tierra del Cielo” can ONLY mean “Soil of Heaven”. Same goes for Italian, French, Portuguese and Romanian. When you intent to speak about the planet you must use the article. If you use no article, the word TIERRA can ONLY mean soil"

So...soil of Heaven. I don't know where Pope Francis got this title; perhaps he made it up himself and considers it beautiful and poetic, describing Mary as the soil in which Jesus grew and brought us Heaven... I don't know.

The context is this: "Soil of Heaven, restore God's peace to the world." Pope Francis is likely saying here that Mary is the fertile soil in which grows the peace of Heaven. Should he be making up a new and strange-sounding title for Our Lady when we already have so many beautiful traditional ones? Probably not, because people are paranoid--very understandably, because of his bringing pachamama into the Vatican.

In this case, I do not believe there is any intent to pray to pachamama. If you read the consecration it is very clear from the beginning that we are praying to Mary, the Mother of God.

I will put this into God's hands and do my part in the consecration of Russia to Mary's Immaculate Heart.

That's weird. He probably means well, but Pope Francis does seem to have an obsession with soil. He should try his hand at planting some vegetables in the Vatican gardens. A few days with a fork and spade would help him get over it. Anyway the words of consecration are ok.

  15. I like how in the consecration text, the prayer references the words of the Blessed Mother throughout history. For example Our Lady of Guadalupe is referenced: Say to us once more: “Am I not here, I who am your Mother?” Our holy Mother asked Juan Diego those words in her fourth apparition to him December 12, 1531.
    Fourth apparition; December 12
Hear me and understand well, my little son, that nothing should frighten or grieve you. Let not your heart be disturbed. Do not fear that sickness, nor any other sickness or anguish. Am I not here, who is your Mother? Are you not under my protection? Am I not your health? Are you not happily within my fold? What else do you wish? Do not grieve nor be disturbed by anything. Do not be afflicted by the illness of your uncle, who will not die now of it. Be assured that he is now cured.
Climb, my dear son, to the top of the hill; there where you saw me and I gave you orders, you will find different flowers. Cut them, gather them, assemble them, then come and bring them before my presence.
My dear little son, this diversity of roses is the proof and the sign which you will take to the bishop. You will tell him in my name that he will see in them my wish and that he will have to comply to it. You are my ambassador, most worthy of all confidence. Rigorously I command you that only before the presence of the bishop will you unfold your mantle and disclose what you are carrying. You will relate all and well; you will tell that I ordered you to climb to the hilltop, to go and cut flowers; and all that you saw and admired, so you can induce the prelate to give his support, with the aim that a temple be built and erected as I have asked.”

Then the very next sentence of the consecration prayer references Our Lady Undoer of Knots circa 1700 You are able to untie the knots of our hearts and of our times. In you we place our trust.

    this portion
Queen of the Rosary, make us realize our need to pray and to love.

Queen of the Human Family, show people the path of fraternity.

Queen of Peace, obtain peace for our world.

references the last three invocations of Mary in the Litany of Loreto:
Queen of the most Holy Rosary, Pray for us.
Queen of families, Pray for us.
Queen of peace. Pray for us.

The consecration text also includes the vital Gospel of Saint John references of Mary's intercession at the wedding of Cana “They have no wine” and her becoming everyone's mother at the foot of the cross: “Behold your son” (Jn 19:26). In this way, he entrusted each of us to you. To the disciple, and to each of us, he said: “Behold, your Mother” (Jn 19:27). Mother Mary, we now desire to welcome you into our lives and our history.

    Happy Consecration day to all.

I think people are making way too much of this. As a student of any Romance language knows, “Tierra” can mean “earth” or “land” or “soil”. So “Tierra del cielo” can be translated as “land of heaven”. Certainly that’s not a title of Mary and it sounds a bit strange, but it makes ‘some’ sense. Simply seeing the word “earth” (if you want to translate it that way, and I’m not sure why you would since “land of heaven” would seem to be the best translation) and “heaven” in a phrase and concluding that P..mama is being invoked is a bit nuts. What does “earth of heaven” mean, anyway? To me, it’s kind of nonsensical.

Besides, what really matters is the intention of the one doing the consecration. Just for the sake of argument, if some false deity somewhere happened to be addressed by its adherents as “Tierra del cielo” and PF says this, does that mean the consecration is now to that idol? I wouldn’t think so. If he is thinking of Mary when he says it, she is the one being addressed. If PF has good intentions, then the prayer will be accepted. Whether it meets Our Lady’s specific requirements is another question. Likewise, if, God forbid, Francis has no faith or is only doing this for political show because the Ukrainian bishops requested it, instead of him actually wanting and intending to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart, then the whole consecration would be nothing but words and have no effect. Words are not incantations. They represent and make external the thoughts of the mind. If your mind and heart are not “following along” with the words you are reading in a prayer, for example, you’re just saying words.

Now, why ‘they’ used the equivalent of “land of heaven” in the various languages instead of “Queen of heaven” I have no idea. That is, why not simply use “Reina del cielo” or “Reina de los cielos”? She is referred to as “Reina del Rosario” (Queen of the Rosary), “Reina de la familia humana” (Queen of the human family), and “Reina de la paz” (Queen of peace) in that same paragraph, so why not “Reina del cielo”? Who knows? The words “Tierra del cielo” are also in quotes, unlike every other phrase. I guess that that means “this isn’t really a title of Our Lady, but she can be thought of as the ‘land of heaven’”. At least in the mind of the author if no one else.

Praying all goes well tomorrow and in the near future. God’s blessings to all here.

Etymology. Pachamama is usually translated as mother Earth (mother of the ground/soil/land)

Etymology of the word Earth = ground

'Tierra del Cielo', translates 'Earth/Soil/Ground of Heaven'.

This seems to be an attempt to sneak in pachamama but I could be wrong.

But ignore me please - I have become so theologically paranoid under this pontificate that I am literally spiritually disorientated.

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum.
    Benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus.
    Sancta Maria, Mater Dei,
    ora pro nobis peccatoribus,
nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

On this occasion we can take consolation from the fact that the devil is not in the detail. He is however busy sowing confusion and desperately trying to thwart today’s Consecration.

Taylor Marshall and others, including myself, who find the translation issue confusing need to keep our eye on the glorious prize.

The entire context of the Consecration prayer is clearly Marian and the English translation sound. I defer to Father Z on the other translations.

It is enough to know that Russia will be Consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary this glorious Solemnity. There is no confusion in the text as to this. May God’s will be done.

That too is my hope PF. I know cradle Catholics who don’t know about Fatima. Some have heard the name Fatima, but other than that they really don’t know much about it.
When a large audience such as Glenn Beck’s features a large portion of his broadcast to this particular subject, you know the interest in Fatima will go viral. I was reading the comment section of his interview with John Henry Weston on Fatima and it was so encouraging…the response was so positive. Beck had discussed Fatima the day before this interview so his audience actually had two days of enlightenment on it. This is so important because although he has a large catholic/ Christian following, he is not a “ religious” station ( although his perspective and world view is by far the most faith based view than any other national non religious news channel. )
I read a comment on that video that said this Fatima story blew them away and they were going to share it with everyone…..this is what happens when a guy like Beck that has a trusted reputation for the truth shares it with his audience…they listen….and they react
I think the thing I was most shocked about with Beck, and gives me great hope for his return to the Catholic Church, was his comments at the end of the video when he related memories of his childhood. He said he attended Saturday mass by himself and prayed the rosary. He said it is a beautiful prayer and that he would join us in the rosary.
This I believe is a grace given to him by Our Lady in these times. Those rosaries Beck said as a little boy may be the catalyst for a future reversion….God willing. I’m guessing that he was probably a baptized Catholic as a child and his father might have not practiced the faith with his family after his mother passed away.
Maybe now is the time that Heaven has reserved to be gracing Glenn to be a voice for the faith to a secular world and bring him back home.
