Some Bishops appear very ambivalent about what they are going to do. They speak of, 'Joining the Pope in Prayer for Ukraine'. Nothing about a Consecration and nothing about Russia.

Other are putting their whole hearts and souls into it.

    We will see.

It would have been foolish to expect them all to be obedient. There are some truly wicked people out there masquerading as Bishops.

I just checked on my cell phone and New Zealand is exactly 12 hours ahead of Rome time. Double check me.

I hope Pope Francis doesn't go and screw this all up.

We're in big, big trouble if he does...

My parish Priest announced at Mass this morning that he will be making the Consecration at 8am at our church on March 25th so as to be doing it in union with Our Holy Father in Rome. Sad to say, I don’t expect many will attend, but I most definitely plan on being there!

Will Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI join in the consecration of Russia and Ukraine? Here's the answer
    CNA

    Washington, D.C. Newsroom, Mar 20, 2022 / 10:30 am

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will join with Pope Francis and the bishops of the world in praying for the consecration of Russia and Ukraine on March 25.

It is expected that he will do so privately, however, and not be present at the consecration ceremony at St. Peter’s Basilica.

CNA Deutsch, CNA’s German-language sister news agency, confirmed those details Sunday with the retired pope’s personal secretary, Archbishop Georg Gänswein.

"Of course, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will join Pope Francis' call in prayer with regard to the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary,” Gänswein wrote in an email to the news agency.

Will your Bishops specifically join in the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart? I emailed my Bishop with this question, and he sent me this link:
    https://www.catholic.org.nz/news/media-releases/prayer-ukraine/
This sounds a bit vague to me, I am not sure. Has Pope Francis not specifically requested that all Bishops join him in consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart? Could you, dear forum members, please kindly confirm this?
    Many thanks,
    Frank

That link, as well as everything I’ve been able to find, indicates the bishops will indeed be uniting with Pope Francis in consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart, as well as Pope Emeritus BXVI.

I think we need to simply take that at face value, pray, fast and sacrifice for this intention now. What more could we do anyhow?

The pastor at my local parish is having a mass at noon this Friday both for the Feast of the Assumption as well as the Consecration. I’ll definitely be there.
