I wrote to the USCCB as well, along with two bishops (of my diocese where I live, and the diocese where I attend Mass). I didn't hear back from any of them, but my priest informed us this morning that our bishop will be doing the consecration at the cathedral. Bishop Burns of Dallas, TX. Thank you, God! Hoping to hear from the other bishop soon.
Done the same today. My archbishop had replied to me last month, when I asked for the TLM to be preserved. He replied to the negative, citing Pope Francis. So today I referred to that email, and regarding the Consecration I pointed out that it is Pope Francis' wish that every Bishop joins in. On another note, does anyone know at what time of Rome the Consecration will be held on Friday?
Update on the Dallas and Fort Worth TX bishops: Not only is the Dallas bishop doing the consecration along with Mass and rosary at the main cathedral...he is asking all churches in Dallas to do their own consecration and Mass and ring their church bells! The Fort Worth bishop is doing the consecration at his cathedral and inviting all priests and faithful of Fort Worth to come attend! These are huge areas! I pray there will be a massive turnout! God bless Texas!
It was my assumption he would do so. The question remains, whether Benedict will do it publicly, alongside Pope Francis.
The evil one must at least sense the danger in the Consecration. I don't think he would egg on any bishop or politician in his camp, to cooperate with the Consecration. This is why our ongoing prayers are so crucial! I'm not against discussing, just don't allow discussion to detract from praying. PEACE is within reach because of the Queen! Fast and pray! And next Friday I will be undertaking a complete fast until lunch, for the Consecration won't be over until 1 pm my time! Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
The consecration happens at 4 p.m. our time. I might try to go to the Consecration by our Archbishop if he joins with the Pope. Maybe I'll fast on Thursday rather than Friday because when I'm hungry my rumbling tummy could wake the dead and I fear that they would have me removed for distracting the Archbishop.
one benefit of Portugal's consecration in 1931 was that the country had a stupendous increase in vocations in the following years; I imagine the benefit if each episcopal conference consecrated its nation from time to time
I ran this by someone I trust, not someone whose name anyone would recognize but who has extensive contacts. He replied:
Here is a site to find out the time in your area. It will take place at 5pm Rome time. So just plug Rome and your area to find the right time https://www.worldtimeserver.com/meeting-planner.aspx
Looks like several dioceses are looking for more instructions from Vatican. I’m going to remain positive that they are not making excuses. Article confirms PF will perform Consecration at 5pm Rome time. https://www.pillarcatholic.com/p/bishops-await-vatican-instruction?s=r
