Even if Pope Francis is right. He is undoing 2,000 years of Church history which centered the Church on Rome and the Pope as the Vicar of Christ. Effectively he is saying, 'They were all wrong and I am right'. This is a cause of serious concern and reflection on us all. Where all the previous Popes wrong and Francis right? Was Peter wrong to up sticks and move to Rome in the first place? This is as Pope Francis implies a Revolution. But is it a good revolution of a bad revolution? All these truly radical changes taking place all the time. Where are the good fruits? What promise do we have that they won't wreck the Church instead of rebuilding her?

This video popped up in the YouTube feed. I wish someone could get it through to that priest's head (I'm tempted to add an adjective meaning the opposite of thin but I've been to Confession) that it's having such drivel shoved down their throats that has people turning to all those he calls Pope Francis's enemies. How stupid do they think we are? Or how low has the bar been set to make it through priestly formation? Maybe the lack of vocations has brought the Franciscans to the stage where beggars can't be choosers. Lord help us.
There was a Gentleman on the Forum years ago who PM'd me about the World being Flat. He seemed intelligent and sincere appeared to many well thought out arguments to make about this. I was going to make the counter arguments but suddenly thought to myself, no, life's too short and left him politely to it. I feel a little like this towards this poor young priest. He is coming from such a different place I feel as flummoxed as I did with the polite gentleman who thought the World was flat. The young priest however was not polite he was Patronising to the point of being grossly offensive suggesting that me and people like me were uneducated and unsophisticated (unlike himself). The Deplorables. But like the Flat Earth guy I'll leave him to it. Life's too short.
Anyone, including this priest, who says that they can make sense of this Pope is living in cloud cuckoo land. I doubt even the Pope knows what he means in some of his famous quotes: “Make a mess, but then also help to tidy it up. A mess which gives us a free heart, a mess which gives us solidarity, a mess which gives us hope.” Pope Francis.
But if you claim to know what the Pope means it gives you licence to call people liars without having to back up your claims against them. I get that Taylor Marshall and Archbishop Vigano are the current favourites to be denounced as enemies of the Church but what have Raymond Arroyo and Cardinal Burke done to have to be called liars? Maybe the priest's problem is that all those he chooses to judge are actually telling the truth he wishes weren't true. At the beginning of the video he was careful to say that Pope Francis is accused of not teaching clearly the "traditions" of the Church. Not the divine and holy faith, but the traditions. Reading the comments, someone pointed out that, when Moses came down the Mountain and saw the people worshipping the golden calf, he didn't lay down the stone tablets, dialogue with the people to reach a consensus and go back up the mountain to ask God to meet them half way. A response to that comment from one of the priest's admirers was that that's because those people knew nothing whereas people today are well read and learned; that blind faith's not for them and they aren't convinced by dogmas that are illogical, "magical". I think that the priest would do well to catechise his cultish followers on God's grace and God's omnipotence That's presuming whoever taught him in the seminary didn't ditch the subject of God's grace when they ditched the Rosary.
They ditched the biblical and very real understanding of sin. Sin is sin in God's eyes. No rationalizing. He is merciful yes--to those with honest heart felt repentance but waffle words don't cut it. I am weary weary weary of this obfuscation and mushy theology and honestly sometimes I am startled and horrified at how much it has crept into my own thinking.

I fear the new synod may result in even worse contradictions to current church dogma. Are these church synod meetings a effort to lead the faithful to believe that their ( hierarchy) predetermined conclusions are both of the pew sitters and the hierarchy? Thus not assuming full responsibility for their conclusions resulting in massive changes to the doctrine.
