Ireland 'waking' up?

The narrative now is that people got vaccinated to save others. And they really believe that getting vaccinated was an act of charity. The first real argument I had with anyone about the vaccines was a couple of weeks ago when one of my family spouted that BS at me. He was so self-righteous despite his vaccinated child having just recovered from the virus!

Our parish church shut us out of Mass a day or two before the official lock-down. It was during Lent, (Either Lent or a First Friday because that's the only time we have evening Mass). I and some others arrived for evening Mass to find a notice about covid on the locked door. I've only been to Mass there once since then. They tried a ticketing restriction, then they had people counting heads to make sure they didn't exceed Government limits. Family who go to Mass there tell me that there are still some restrictions but they returned to passing the basket for collections a few weeks ago.

They may be afraid of someone reporting them. I heard of that happening to a pub owner in a rural area. I think he had a visit from the authorities.

I wear the mask going into and leaving the church and if I move out of my seat but not while I'm seated the requisite distance from other people. Where I attend Mass maybe half the people are masked.

Just after word came out about Omicron being more contagious but mild, I was at Mass in a huge church near the hospital. Before he began Mass, the priest urged us all to be extra careful because the new strain is so contagious. He looked so frightened. "Us all" was about a couple of dozen people in a church that could probably seat 1,000. They've scared people away from Mass.

Events in the future will give us all something to be really frightened about, if we are the frightened kind of people. Jesus , Mary and Joseph had good reason to be terrified from start to finish. Herod wiped out all the kinds He could find to kill Jesus. Yet they never seemed the least bit scared to me.

They just did the things that needed to be done. They went on the run and hid in Egypt.

Yes, it particularly suspect because he is not a medical science expert. Maybe he confers with some, but big deal! I want the scientist and virologist that are experts on pandemics…not this depopulation guy. But, when Gates literally gives millions …yes, gives millions to msm outlets, you know he’s literally paying them to use him as their resident expert. Money is power and he’s cashing in . The media is getting their pockets full of cash from Gates and he’s getting his moneys worth.
No wonder the real scientist and experts are ignored….they don’t pay to play like Billy Gates.
This is how Gate’s buddy and pedo Jeffery Epstein played. He filmed powerful people and blackmailed them…he was filthy rich but didn’t actually have a job…hummm?

I just heard on the news two hours ago that the science is in on the masking….it’s absolutely useless. Hopefully news will travel fast. Especially for these poor children.

I know, it’s insane. You cite the actual science and they basically plug their ears and tell you they don’t care, you still need vaccinated! Well, we tried. I still pity them and worry for them.

My Father used to say, never go where you're not wanted. I was always fine with that. If they don't want me , I don't want to be there anyway.

    It's their choice.

    Go along, get along.

    It's a big old world.

    Ireland has many Churches.

Here too. An obvious divide between the hard working men and women and the academic elitist class. Actually I think it has a lot to do with what so call "news" they watch.

Yes, I think they are feeling the pinch. Our diocese has two collections at Sunday Mass. There's also a separate fund that people contribute to by weekly envelope collection or bank standing order. I contribute to that fund which I think is for maintaining the parish buildings. The church where I attend Mass is in a poorer area. They haven't resumed passing the basket at Mass. They have boxes at the rear of the church where people can make their donations. I reckon that all parishes have taken a financial hit. I hope the Bishops are claiming compensation from the government.

In a way I feel sorry for the priests. Had they defied the government and not shut us out of Mass most of the public would likely have turned against them. People were really brainwashed. I was disgusted with our parish for locking the doors without notice. I recall now that it was during Lent because I had been at Mass there the previous evening and the priest didn't tell us not to show up the following evening. Had I known we would be locked out I wouldn't have been there.

Yes. The poor priests. They get it from everywhere. They get it from the Bishop, they get it from the Vatican. They get it from the people. They get it from their fellow priests. They get it from the media. They get it from the politicians. They get it from pressure groups. Is there anyone, any where that they don't get it from?

Worst of all they get it from the Devil big time. They are his number one target. Is it any wonder Our Lady constantly asks us to pray for them?

I heard a sad story from an Anglican Pastor in England yesterday Morning. He went to the Church for Sunday Services and he was the only one there. He waited and waited but no one showed up. So he turned of the lights and went home himself.

He told the interviewer that this is not the first time this has happened to him. He said a lot of this had to do with the Lock Downs, but that numbers had been falling down anyway.

I noticed this morning after Mass, when they did not close the Church right away as they used to people lingering on to pray. I especially noticed two young Indian girls , I suppose nurses, still praying away in the gloom.

There are lights and diamonds everywhere, it's not all bad.

I love playing, 'Spot the Saint!'' :):):)

Yes they are hurting. The donation boxes and online Masses certainly took a financial toll on our parish. They just ended the donation boxes at our church, and purchased baskets with very long handles.

They lifted most of the restrictions here in the south of Ireland but masks are still mandatory in shops and some other settings until next Monday when they cease to be mandatory. Will be interesting to see how many keep wearing them after that.
