I feel like all this will continue so that booster after booster can keep rolling out as in they are using celebrities and politicians to keep getting "covid" and thus the need for further boosters as well as to vilify the unvaccinated. Think about it. It is flu season. Prior to the pandemic, many don't recall but it was the worst flu season in recorded time. Last year there was no flu, now all of a sudden there is this surge of omicron that has the exact same symptoms as the seasonal flu and the death rate has plummeted with omicron down to flu levels. Now the CDC already has said the current test does not work because it can't tell the difference between covid, cough or flu and we will have new ones possibly by April (how convenient since flu season ends in March). So, is this covid or flu?
Well I guess the state of Florida needs to test those coming to it from NY! Maybe she infected folks in Florida. She and the other leftist democrats decried Florida, yet they went there to bath in the beautiful sun and freedom….hypocrites. I’ll pray for her too…to resign. Her type are destroying our nation and our way of life.
So there were two articles (among others) about COVID, both published on the same (french language) news website today. First article title was: According to WHO, more than half of Europeans will be infected by Omicron in the next two months Second article title translates as "Why Omicron cases will plummet starting February" Makes sense I'm not even sure anyone knows what they're saying anymore.
True Beth, these politicians need to go. For the first time in my life I wish our family lived in Florida, and it has nothing to do with our harsh New England winters. My youngest daughter who works in healthcare applied for a religious exemption months ago. At 7pm last night she received an email from HR informing her that her request for religious exemption was denied even though she had agreed to testing. She was told that the Covid testing was not reliable and she could infect others. If she is not vaccinated by February 15 she will be terminated. Apparently it is acceptable for vaccinated employees to spread Covid, but not the unvaxxed. With bills to pay and a son to raise she may be forced to take the jabs. If she looks for another job it is likely that any employer would require vaccination in our pro-vaccine state of MA. My daughter is devastated and frightened, dark times for sure. Florida has it's own issues, but it is a state where freedom is respected.
We are so proud of our Governor here in Florida. But New Yorker’s who have moved here recently have caused a problem. They’ve made real estate sky rocket. The prices are so high, it makes it very difficult for the young people to afford any housing. And I’m nervous how these NYorkers’s will vote in the future. There are so many liberals already in our local and state government, without De Santis we are lost.
Oh Jo…reading this is exactly why I’m so non stop about this whole political virus! Real people…good, innocent, hard working people are being deprived of their ability to earn a living on a premise that is not based in any science! It’s absolute evil coercion . It’s so diabolical I want to scream when I read stories like your daughters. I pray, pray pray that some miracle occurs for her and the million others like her who are being genuinely persecuted for not allowing someone to inject a experimental drug into their body! I understand your concern about New Yorkers moving into Florida. I know of one who is moving there and it’s to get away from the liberal crazies in NY! And yes, houses are only on the market for a hour and they are gone. Prices are crazy. The crazy liberals have destroyed so many states…anyone that can get out of them, go! If you’re a lib, stay in the mess you voted for….you wanted it, you can have it! My sincere, sincere sympathy for those who are stuck in those states and are not responsible for that mess. Maybe God will intervene soon and shake them all up!

Transplants have been driving house prices up here in TX as well. We're lucky we got into our house when we did, during the recession, because if we tried to move here now, we wouldn't be able to afford it. Our home value has gone up at least $100,000 in just a few years.
An update on my kids: The pediatrician today said my little ones don't have pink eye. It's a virus going around right now that's causing very red eyes, watery and sometimes goopy, often along with a sinus infection or ear infection. My 3 year old had the sinus infection, and my 1 year old has an ear infection. The doc said she's been seeing tons of kids come in with this recently. So, they're both on antibiotics and will hopefully feel better very soon!
I understand your worries Byron. We were discussing Florida last night, and I told my daughter things could change dramatically if there is a liberal shift in the population. The biggest exodus from MA in the state's history occurred in 2021. Where did they all go? To New Hampshire and Florida.
I am so sorry to hear this. Massachusetts is run by the crazies. I pity the normal citizens being harnessed to such people. The saddest thing aside ftom your daughter's terrible dilemma...is the staffing shortages plaguing their hospitals. They need nurses so badly but they go shoot themselves in the foot. Crazy crazy crazy. I'm sure there are red states that would be delighted to have her. Shaking my head. (And sending up a prayer)
