The hysteria is beyond ridiculous. Covid is a nasty virus. Many people have died and many families will never recover from the grief over lost loved ones. The greatest scandal is the way the pandemic has been politicised and used as a tool to divide people. History won't be kind to many of today's "experts" who have become household names. The vaccine fanatics are saying now that omicron isn't mild after all and that the reason it appears mild in South Africa is that there is more natural immunity from prior infection in that country. How can so many experts look at the same data and come up with conflicting conclusions? This discussion with a South African doctor throws some light on it:
Smallpox would be much more deadly (no one has anti-bodies); but it was recently reported a vial was discovered in Pennsylvania which was not secured in one of the two known storage areas (one in USA and one in Russia). Lord have Mercy!
We of a certain age have received the smallpox vaccine in our upper arms. I’m not sure when doctors stopped administering it. Fort Detrick in Maryland is where the military stores vials and studies infectious diseases.
Spreading fast! In Ontario...Wed 1808, Thursday 2421, today 3124. (30% higher than this day last year) Taking out partial and unknown, 73% of cases are fully vaxxed. If this data doesn't end up squashing passports I'm not sure what will. Sadly, this is going to be a tough winter, I can see lockdowns coming again but there will be hell to pay after the promises made if everyone got vaxxed. Although there likely is some benefit from the shots (although many risks and long term unknowns) for certain age groups or states of health I fear many have been brainwashed into believing the shots are a savior of sorts. This is the potential backfire of the media spin. Exercise, eat well, boost your immune system, have an early home treatment plan should you contract covid. (the FLCCC has good ones) Don't be afraid. Pray and Trust in Jesus. The worst case scenario is you end up in paradise with our Lord. God Bless.
Just an FYI, because our information on covid is so conflicting and muddled. My husband came down with a bad cough, congestion two days ago. We both already had covid but heard on the "news" you can get It more than once. So I found out you can get home test kits. I thought I would test him just to be sure. They sell them at most pharmacies . . .we are in a red hot spot right now. I went to Walmart and they are sold out but CVS has them, they are under $10. The test came back negative, I think it is a cold or allergies from shocking our systems moving from the heat/humid south to the cold and snowy upper Midwest. Just letting everyone know they are available. Part of why people get so deathly ill from covid us they wait too long to start any treatment plan, so the test is a good way to stay on top of it.
Oh another thing, my friend who got on my case for not taking the vax had the J&J plus booster. And she was telling me she is now having nosebleeds . . .doesnt sound good.
Yes, that trek north would be a shock! It might not have felt like it to you, but here in Upstate NY we've had a very mild start to winter. Only a foot of snow so far and yesterday it reached 58 degrees! We are, however, forecasted to have about another foot of snow up through Christmas. A cold wind today! I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like...
Good advice. I know someone who had the booster last month and is now nearing the end of quarantine after contracting the virus. Her symptoms were mild. A healthcare worker, she tested herself regularly for antigens. One of those tests proved positive and the result was confirmed later by an official PCR test. The antigen self-testing kits are sold in the supermarket here @ €3.99 each. I have some at the ready. I'm editing this to add that she waited a few days for the results of the official test. For those of us who are not vaccinated, those few days could be crucial.
And now CDC has come out not recommending J&J but Pfizer and Moderna. Not a great feeling for those who had J&J to now hear these are not effective.
These are great tests to use, but just note they are not the most accurate. I would follow up with a second one within 48 hours to reconfirm negative results. But, yes, good to have on hand. And starting at some point in 2022, these tests will be covered and paid by insurance.
I have used them. My pulmonologist says they are accurate for positives most often. Negative results should be confirmed. But they are an important part of our "tool box" in fighting this virus. Kat is right here. Early action is vital.
So looks like good news/bad news here. Novavax got EUA …. BUT only in low income countries. Hmmm… follow the $$$$$ again. why not also allow in US and EU? I for one as a mRNA vac hesitant wound likely get this one. So once again shows just how disingenuous TPTB are! Forcing the vac and now that there’s a real choice they don’t allow it. All about $$$$ https://www.nytimes.com/2021/12/17/world/novavax-vaccine-approval-who.html
