I can’t like this post because it is so incredibly sad. Although they may be making a move to technically / formally remove themselves as members of the church, baptism is a indelible mark on their soul forever that cannot be undone if I understand it correctly. If not, please correct me.
These are mostly souls who I believe were deeply hurt in life and blame the faith/God for their pain. They are trying to hit back. That is why they would even go to the trouble to formalize it….it’s based out of anger. Others who have no faith generally just don’t care and walk away. They don’t care enough to bother formalizing it because it’s meaningless to them.

They need prayer…their souls are endangered. Only God knows and only God judges.

Satanists do this as a first step to membership. You step or spit on the Cross as a Sign of Renunciation of your Faith.

This is a very ancient Satanic practice. You can for instance trace it back to the Emperor Julian the Apostate ..a Christian who after renouncing his former Faith conducted the mass murder of Christians with great vigour throughout the Empire..

Its the same thing with the Black Mass it started out in Ancient Rome.

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

Things change and things remain the same.

    Bottom line.

    Satanic.

Yes, Padraig, I believe you are right. Satanist would want this too.

if something is so vehemently attacked by the devil it is because it certainly has a divine origin, that is the attacks on the regenerating sacrament of baptism and the holy Eucharist, it is something that should serve as an example for Protestant religions that deny the importance of both sacraments for salvation

That's what I understand too. If it weren't a permanent mark, that would mean that God could change His mind (or covenant) and in that case, would be as fickle as man! I guess the exception could be in the case of an annulment? Because it's an official cancellation by the Church perhaps the mark disappears? I have read about mystics who have seen certain people in hell and they can see those who were baptised, priests and other consecrated souls from the mark on their soul.

Speaking of baptism, I saw this article - what strange times we are in!

I almost feel guilty. When Fr. Francis became our new pastor 2 months ago, he delegated to me the ministry of baptisms. I did one today and will add another on Sunday (not during Holy Mass). It's such a joy to speak the precious words, to pour the water, to know that the evil one must flee. Even the "family congregation" seems more open to being challenged (for the sake of the child) to draw closer to God in order to set a good example. I always include a testimony of a child saint to remind parents that their child can be holy, too! And Geralyn is there holding the precious oils while I anoint the babe. At the end, she always makes a pitch that the baptismal candle not be packed away and forgotten, but that each baptismal anniversary it be brought out as the child renews the vows her parents first pledged at their little one's entry into the Kingdom. Do you renounce Satan? I do! Allelu-ia!

Beautiful that Geralyn reminds them to renew the baptismal vows with the candle. So funny, because just yesterday, I took my two grown sons baptism candles out in preparation to burn while I pray the vows of their baptism in proxy for them….praying to God to restore their faith. It was recommended by a dear friend and so I’ll try it.

Great! It infuriates the enemy! And Our Lady is so blessed! And an arrow of grace embeds itself into the hearts of your sons! After all, this Sunday is the Feast of Christ the King. May your sons soon return to that Holy Realm!:D:coffee:

I have and I will. Geralyn will join me. Actually these baptisms are timely placed, a joy in the midst of my present exclusion from chaplaincy ministry, due to my being one of those "nasty" anti-vaccers!

    When difficulties arise grace abounds!

Thanks be to the Two Hearts!

It pains me so, that my son does not intend to baptize his baby. This is my very first grandchild. I pray everyday for this grace for him.
