It’s really quite a powerful ruling too. I’m not a legal scholar but it appears the judge essentially says don’t need to prove their right to a religious exemption since it’s guaranteed by the Constitution. At least that how I interpret what he wrote here: “The question presented by this case is not whether plaintiffs and other individuals are entitled to a religious exemption from the state's workplace vaccination requirement," he wrote. "Instead, the question is whether the state's summary imposition of 2.61 conflicts with plaintiffs' and other individuals' federally protected right to seek a religious accommodation from their individual employers. The answer to this question is clearly yes. Plaintiffs have established that 2.61 conflicts with longstanding federal protections for religious beliefs and that they and others will suffer irreparable harm in the absence of injunctive relief."
I just saw this wonderful news. I will continue praying for the rights of others to refuse the shots. Thank you, Jesus.
Prayers, Rain. As NYS prepares an appeal to challenge religious exemptions, I've noted the continued total blackout on alternative preventive measures against covid-19. The media dumps all anti-mRNA-vaccers into the camp of those who fail to take preventive measures against covid-19 (We just don't care!). The manner in which this bias shows up for me personally: those chaplains who have taken the vaccines can visit covid-19 patients; I can't because I'm "unprotected"! This is an incessant mantra which helps to deflect any evidence that the vaccines are not as effective as MSM insists. Lord have Mercy!
You have described evil. Woe unto them who call evil good , and good evil. Praying for you to be granted your exemption soon.
Yes it's now all about shaming those who have not accepted the vaccine. 90% vaccination rate in Ireland is not enough. We have one of the highest rates of vaccination in Europe and currently the highest rate of daily cases. We are told the anti vaxers are the problem because the majority of them will end up in ICU taking up valuable beds. Of course the problem is the vaccine isn't doing the job so they have to find a scapegoat. It's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets any better.
HH, I didn't mean to confuse you. I am serving in the hospital and nursing home again (see post # 197). What I still can't do is what vaccinated staff can, interact with covid-19 patients. Yes, other staff still need to gown up and all, but they can enter covid-19 patients' rooms. I can't because it is assumed I'm unprotected. I still have talked with them briefly (from the doorway), but I can't go in and carry on a conversation or pray with them as I can with non-covid-19 patients. And absolutely no Holy Communion! Ironically, as a chaplain I'm assigned to two intensive care units where 40% of the patients have covid-19! Go figure! I guess those natural supplements are just hocus-pocus! Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
Thank you for clarifying, but it still is unsound and convoluted thinking on the part of the decision makers.
