Hello, I am requesting prayers for the soul of a beautiful sister who touched the lives of many. Her name is Sister Maria Medina (Sister Maria of Merciful Love) and she was currently serving in Belize. She passed away over the weekend due to complications from COVID. She was a nun at our parish here at St. Gertrudes in Mora, New Mexico and she belonged to the SOLT. She worked with many of our youth here in our small little mountain community and she really made a huge impact along with the other SOLT sisters who were also serving in our community. I know she made a difference getting my children through their confirmation and all that was required because of her joy and unconditional love. At one point my son was really struggling with some issues that were causing him anxiety and he actually felt comfortable enough to reach out to her and some of the other sisters. They prayed with him and really listened to him and I think it really made a big difference for him. I know she touched the lives of many others as well. May Sister Maria Rest in Peace.
Eternal rest grant unto her oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God Rest In Peace. Amen.
Yes I will pray for her. What a beautiful sister. The joy in her expression is palpable. This does also remind us of the ravages of covid. We really must pray for each other and take great care to stay safe.
Praying for her soul! My best friend was a postulant with SOLT for a few years before discerning her call to marriage. They do great things.
AED, she always had that joy in her. I really can't remember her without a smile on her face. I was looking at some Facebook posts because a lot of people were posting pictures of her after hearing the news. You can see the joy on her face in every single picture. She truly loved her vocation! Yes we definitely need to pray for one another during this time.
Yes, SOLT definitely does great things. At my parish, the priests are always SOLT priests but I think that is because it was actually founded in our little mountain area. https://solt.net/blog/life-birthplace-solt
