I got up from a restless sleep to jot down a poem going 'round in my mind.

Did that, then stepped into the hallway leading onto the kitchen.

From the bathroom, to my right, comes our cat Trixie; she's a gray calico. She turns right, away from me, as though not noticing me, proceeds a few paces, then makes a rounding left turn to go past husband's arm chair; disappears.

Only the guest room light is on, six paces from where I initially spotted her.

I paused, finding this odd; how had she so quickly left her settled/warm spot in the guest room to be exiting the bathroom?

I take a deep breath and return to the guest room, hoping NOT to find her still settled where I'd left her only a moment before (she's elderly and even a young cat likely couldn't perform this feat).

She is lying on the guest bed, having NOT moved. o_O

So what did I see in the hallway??

I picked her up, the skin on my back crawling, went into the living room and twice rebuked "whatever" to leave this house in "the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost," while tracing the Sign of the Cross with my right hand.

But I'm still unsettled. Please pray.

Praying! I'm sure that like me you keep holy water in the house and also have crucifixes. Demons of course can manifest in many forms and perhaps one is trying to get your attention. That would not be good. You can do a house Blessing yourself in the Easter season and try that. I would pray the prayer to St Michael out loud daily in the house and use holy water. Make sure no one is watching filth or violence on tv or the computer in your home. I went through something like this before my conversion and had some very frightening activity that ended at my conversion and going back to the Sacraments. But since then I am very careful around my home and those who enter my home. For example, I have a young foster niece who likes to stay with me sometimes but she knows the rules about tv shows, swearing, occult, etc. in my house and why.

My friend had a situation with her cat recently. Clearly her cat was under some kind of invisible attack. She ran to see what was going on and literally walked through an ice cold patch in her hall way in an otherwise very warm house. The cat wouldn't leave her side the rest of the night. She too used holy water and prayers. Its getting weird out there friends.

Thank you everyone. I've never recited so many Our Fathers and Hail Marys (after)! It is genuinely chilling to see a creature moving through one's house when you know only two people and a real cat are inside.

    :(

This reminds me that in the recent past days, Trixie has been "weird" in the (dry) bathtub. Two nights ago she was meowing loudly (for no discernible reason) from it. Last evening (hours prior to the incident) she looked a bit agitated and was biting the shower curtain. These are not regular "quirks" of hers. The form I saw came out of the bathroom.

During and after the incident she was absolutely calm, though.

A lot more pressing problems than mine, but just now (mid-afternoon):

Today I've placed Holy items at various points in the hallway and over doorways.

Got back to work, during which I have a good peripheral view of 1/3 of the hall.

Trixie hasn't passed by in hours, that I've noticed (and she'd have come into this office).

I'd placed a Sacred Heart of Jesus (unlit) glass candle (10 inches tall, a bit heavy) at the very end of the hallway, on the floor. Flush against the wall.

On taking a break from work, I stepped out to see the candle lying on its side.

Husband wouldn't deliberately, and it can't be accidentally knocked over for its placement.

Really doubt Trixie "played with it", as she's rarely playful (aside from twist-ties and bottle caps). :coffee:

It looks like that is the candle which lasts for seven days. How about lighting it and allowing it to burn for the duration of the 7 days.

"Something" is not happy with you--your devotional reading and your prayers and sharing beautiful images of Our Lord and Our Lady here--maybe. Just a guess. Keep up the holy water and prayers. Dont rule out having a priest come and bless your house.:)

Try not to dwell on these things. If you can laugh at them and see the funny side.

Prayers to St Michael , Raphael and Gabriel.

Oh boy, sounds like Trixie is definitely having more than senior moments. I forgot to mention that my pets also wore miraculous medals on their collars after my troubles. My horses didn't wear halters for safety reasons and I wove the medals into their manes. Animals are so much more in tune to this stuff as a whole than we are. One of my dogs was really acting strangely during my trouble period, and would sit on the couch in the exact same area each time and stare at the ceiling and growl. Sometimes he would have his ball and sit there and wag his tail looking at the ceiling. I lived in a newer modern a frame style house with 20 foot ceilings and no attic at the time. I did find out from a neighbor and confirmed from the local library that my house was the first and only build on a native american war zone between the Souix and the Chippewa in which the corpses were left to rot in 1857. The neighbors who were there a long time would not even step foot on my property!
