Hi, I need prayers. I have been having severe, disabling anxiety for the past two weeks. I even get physical pain from it. I wake up feeling fine, but then it builds throughout the day and is unbearable by evening.
Have you seen a doctor for this yet? If not, make an appointment first thing Monday morning. I'll pray that you get relief. But, once Monday hits, call a doctor. Ok?
Will pray. Can you share what's worrying you? Sometimes that may help.. There's so much going on . Vaccines, covid, prophecy, its a lot for us to absorb. I will post the surrender novena..its great! You give everything to Jesus.
Dear Heidi...please seek out medical aid for your anxiety! Especially since it affecting you physically now. They can give you medication to get it under control until the cause of it is remedied. Anxiety is prevalent now among so many and for good reason....but there is help. You do not need to suffer. See a doctor immediately...if necessary, go to the ER. There is help for you Heidi...please don’t suffer any longer. You may be suffering panic attacks from this anxiety that can mimic heart attacks , etc. My sons teacher experienced these physical side effects from anxiety. Medication resolved it and she was fine! You can be too!
As someone who has suffered with anxiety for years, Fr. Dolindo's prayer has brought me great comfort over the years. Anxiety is emotionally, and physically painful. You never know where it will land in your body, joint pain, racing heart with chest pains, feeling faint, headaches, and digestive issues. At my worst I even had difficulty swallowing for nearly one year, and I had to see a gastroenterologist for an endoscopy. Meds are very important to get your anxiety under control, but eventually I was able to wean myself off them which I believe is a great testament to the power of prayer.
Thank you, everyone! I have had PTSD for many years, but for some reason unknown to me it is really glaring up right now. I don’t know why. . I will call the doctor on Monday. I know part of the problem is that my husband will not allow me to go to Mass. He is very afraid of the virus and will not allow us to go anywhere.

I used to have lots of trouble with anxiety (late teens to early 30s), to the point of taking (prescription) Xanax. At one point it was so bad my hands would constantly (mildly) tremble, and I'd have to keep them folded or clasped if in the presence of others (that ended years ago and I'm only reminded in this moment). My prayer life and faith were at a real low point in those years, but I finally stopped taking Xanax and returned to spiritual practice (not implying you've neglected spiritual practice). Still get occasional pangs of anxiety, but mostly I've come to accept that whatever is intended to be my lot ... will be. A mix of faith and fatalism, I guess.
My mother just went through this and still is a bit.. The difficulty swallowing that doctors are telling her is all in her head. She also believes she's allergic to almost everything and I recognize it as anxiety. She has struggled with mental health her whole life. It's a great cross.
In my early 20's I would shake like that, and constantly feel like I was low on oxygen. I couldn't take a full breath, like someone was sitting on my lungs. Daily Mass with a holy hour cured me.
Oh no, I'm so sorry. That's really hard. I would pray constantly for him to have a change of heart and the gift of courage. I will be praying for you!
I am sorry to hear this Heidi, I will include your husband in my prayers. This is a great sacrifice for you to stay away from Mass, it's no wonder you are feeling unsettled. We have been talking about the many Lenten trials that so many of our forum members are facing right now.
