Donna, I am not sure how large the sores are, I can imagine they are very very painful. Have you ever tried canker cover? They are a bit strange to get used to but immediate relief. Also yogurt seems to help.

Discern, Donna. Maybe we should pray over this to Our Lady. The origins of this practice are not from God’s Light.

My suggestion is putting powdered alum on a damp Q tip , then putting it on the site being careful not to swallow it. It shrinks the swelling. It draws water out. Your mouth will water for awhile so stay close to the sink. I only needed to do this once or twice. (Rinse your mouth with plain water after a few minutes with the alum on)

I will get some alum and try this as soon as we can get to the store. We've got several inches of snow here in TX which is rare. A low of zero and a million people in my area without power. It's a mess right now! I am very blessed that my home hasn't lost power at all. We're hunkering down for the next couple days.

Prayers for Texas. I have lived through winter power outages, just dreadful. :( Good to hear you are safe.

I remember reading that hydrogen peroxide helps mouth sores so I googled it and found this...

If you have yogurt on hand that helps, too.

I thought I'd update. I went to the doc yesterday and she says I have a pyrogenic granuloma, and that I'll need to get it removed by a dentist or oral surgeon. She said it would last for months if not. I was a big baby last night and cried a lot because I'm scared, but it should be quick, with an easy recovery. What's frustrating right now is that it's big enough now that it constantly aches while pressed against my teeth. And of course it's the weekend so I have to wait a couple days before I can even make an appointment. Please pray that they can get me in quickly and I can get this over with!

At least you know what you are dealing with. Hopefully you will get an appointment very soon. Take care.

That's what I'm doing, putting gauze in between. It helps a bit.
