I think often about stories of great sinners who did something like pray one Hail Mary every day of their life... and was given a great grace of repentence before death or a visit from Mary on their deathbed, etc. I've wondered, why would someone live a bad life but take the time to pray a Hail Mary every day? There must be some mysterious working in some people's hearts that is a grace from God, maybe a result of others' prayers. There are so many varying degrees of guilt in the human heart. A great many degrees of understanding. "Forgive them, Father; they know not what they do." I pray that, by the mercy of God, Biden attends Mass and wears his rosary beads because his heart yearns for God even if he is terribly wrong in many areas of his life and what he supports. Perhaps it is a sign of the great mercy God is going to extend to Biden on his deathbed. We can't really know. But we have a solemn duty to pray for our world leaders, and even better, do so with great love. Biden is deeply cherished by God, however much I am horrified at his support of abortion. How much more so is God devastated by Biden's support of abortion? But yet, He still loves him far more than I do. The great love and mercy of God.
Please spare us this sentimental rubbish about Joe Biden. Sorry but your powers of discernment are way off the radar. You may be well intentioned but you have created a false god in your mind.

We had a knock on my fathers door in the nursing home late at night when he was dying. Absolutely no one was there. The door was actually open when the knock came. I looked up and down the hallway...no one was there. The hospice nurse was with me and she said it happens when your loved one is going to pass...they knock to let you know they are coming to take him home. He died hours later.....( with all the sacraments!).

It appalls me that Cardinal Gregory excuses Biden. As does Cardinal Cuspich and others. I am appalled at everything taking place all around us but we are told unambiguously that we must pray for these people--especially these princes of the Church who not only endanger themselves but all the souls entrusted to them. Its a bitter pill but we must do it.
I would like to reply to you without making you angry with me. I respect you highly and know you are a fierce defender of the Holy Faith. So here goes; We are watching a horror unfold in America right now. All President Trump did to restore family values and respect for human life. Working to improve the economy so families all across America could look forward to a better future. Making peace in the Middle East. Stopping the exodus of jobs from USA to China. And so much more that needed to be restored. Joe Biden seems to be hell bent on restoring what was going on during the Obama administration. This has left me shocked, horrified and numb, when you realise that the Bishops of America kept a stony silence which meant a lot of Roman Catholics were hood winked into thinking a vote for Biden was acceptable. When I see any Bishop or Archbishop coming out now with some sort of objection, it makes me cringe. Where were they when the gullible voters needed to be told their support for the democrats was a vote for the death culture that the democrat party promoted. A vote for the democrat party was a vote for dirty old men to put on frocks and get access to little girls toilets. A Vote for the democrat party was a vote for more Americans living on welfare. What can we say or do now that can save the unborn. All that is left to us is to Pray, Hope and don't worry. Keep Watch and Pray. We have to pray for our Bishops, Priests and Religious. Especially the Holy Father, and beg Almighty God to enlighten the eyes of their minds. We have to pray for our politicians for God to enlighten the eyes of their minds, because so many vulnerable people rely on good government. We have to keep our own inner peace, and not give the devil the victory over us that we allow ourselves to be angry with those who are failing in their responsibility before God. When all seems hopeless and frustrating, my strength and encouragement comes from thinking about Jesus in the garden the night He was arrested. He saw everything that would happen until the end of time. And I think if Jesus did not give up knowing there would be many who would not be saved even after He gave His life for them, why would I give up. All that is left when all the chips are down is Trust in Jesus. And do all you can to be faithful to dear Jesus in gratitude for all He has done and suffered for all of us. Jesus did not suffer for the holy and good souls. He suffered for Biden, Archbishop Gregory and all those who fill us with horror at their failures to keep faithful to the Gospels. Jesus died and rose from the death, to convince us to pray for sinners as part of our Redemption too, for we are all sinners at the end of the day. I hope this will help you move your focus from the horror of sin and the poor sinner to the Trust Jesus and Mary ask of us. And Keep Watch and Pray. Love, Peace and Joy in the Lord, now and always.

God is merciful when one seeks His mercy. Hopefully Biden and Bishop Wilton will repent sincerely before they die....preferably, right now. Babies are being murdered now. God have mercy.
Julia thank you for this. You speak the thoughts of my heart more eloquently than I could. I think Catholic men of strong faith and courage react in fury at such things and rightly so. We need more Catholic men like this. We are in the trouble we are in because such men have been frozen out of the priesthood by the lavender mafia. But there is a real danger of forgetting in this righteous fury that Jesus died for them too. A fact we can't get away from. And it is a terrible thing to fall into the Hands of the living God. We wouldn't wish it on our worst enemies. So we must pray for them. As we would wish to be prayed for. This is such a terrible time of testing. For everyone. Everyone. God help us.

I concur. My Dad just turned 88 & has taken up winter hiking this year. Mind you, today reached about 18°F. Currently it's 14.
