I thought it was strange as well, along with the word 'Blackout '. I know nothing about Fr. Blount, but I believe he did have this vision as he seemed genuinely astonished, and passionate in giving his account. However it did cross my mind, and I hope that I am wrong, that perhaps this vision was not from God.
It is so very hard to discern these days but this priest is by all reports is a holy priest and an exorcist. I would think he has a very well honed discernment. Also--it seems to me that we have crossed a line into the time of justice. The gloves are off. Not to be flippant but maybe its like "okay no more mr. Nice guy."
My understanding is that the candles just need to be wax, not necessarily beeswax. And one candle suppose to last the whole three days.
Yes, I do believe the Holy Candles need to be bees wax. To be honest I was not aware of any other form of wax apart from what comes out of peoples ears, and I don't think anyone would want to burn a wick in a stick of human earwax. You can buy bees wax candles. I had six large bees wax candles last year and burned them an hour or so a day. They have lasted all year. They are not cheap to buy, I paid about £14.00 sterling each. They burn for about 100 hours each, and it is lovely to have them at this covid time. You can order them from Amazon. I have another six bought to take to the FSSP Priests, ready for Candlemas on 2nd February, where with the help of God they will be blessed and I will have enough to last all year again.
Don;t forget the other Sacramentals! The Blessed Salt, the Holy Water the Medals et al.... I think as far as I recall Marie Julie Jahnenny mentions a very special Scapular for the Three Days... https://www.amazon.com/BENEDICTION-PROTECTION-SCAPULAR/dp/B00MY7B8LC BENEDICTION PROTECTION SCAPULAR This scapular is a privilege offered by Our Lord and Our Lady to lead us through the terrible times when the world will face the Holy Wrath of God. It was originally given to French Mystic, Visionary, and Stigmatic, Marie-Julie Jahenny. Not only is the wearing of this scapular strongly recommended, but its exposition in our chapels and houses will give special protection. Richly embellished felt pieces measure 3.5" x 4.25" and are connected by cords of about 18".
I am relieved to hear this AED, I was not aware that he was an exorcist. It's terrible, I have been fooled so many times I've become skeptical.
It is a good idea to keep everything in a special box or a tote .....for your holy water, Bible, books, sacramentals etc.( remember a lighter for your candles).
I have a little Altar in my bedroom. The Fathers of the Desert used to say it was good to raise u the Bible on a little podium it special honour and I have my Holy Water there..and the salt. I must hunt out my candles..
I know Cukierski's have them.. https://www.cukierski.net/collections/spiritual-goods-collection not cheap but their funds go to help poor kids who require operations etc.https://www.cukierski.net/collections/spiritual-goods-collection
I have sent for things ftom them before. I believe the candles are actually blessed before they send them.
I have many sacramental's and other things I have purchased from them over the years. Awesome family!
Yes, definitely, Padraig. I think with Covid and the lockdowns and Church closures etc we're getting a small foretaste of how difficult things can get going forward. Best for us to make good use of the time and grow closer in Union with the Lord while we still have access to the Sacraments. Don't know for how much longer we will. St. Padre Pio on the Three Days of Darkness:
I ordered beeswax candles from walkingword.org which were blessed and they pray over every order which goes out. I also received matches{?} and holy cards with the order. Products Products
About a week ago I had a dream that I had to put the blood of the lamb on top of my doors, like the Jews did, but I knew in this case it was Jesus not the blood of actual lambs. So I woke and thought how on earth can I put the Blood of the Lamb ( Jesus) on my door? I was thinking the Eucharist but that made no sense. A couple of days later watching a video, Fr. Alar grabbed a picture of the Devine Mercy Image and pushed it towards the camera and said "place this on your door". I was like "O!" he said that under these circumstances in lockdown, and by our baptism we can bless articles ourselves with holy water. He gave the words in the video thY we are to say. So I did. But I have to get a few more for other doors. I'm also going to bless the doors with Excorsized water and Holy oil above them. I these blessed and excorsized last spring.
I recall doing this blessing during the lockdown. The Devine Mercy image has been on our front door since last March. It is there to stay.
