What if everyone will eventually be Covid-positive?
    By Phil Lawler ( bio - articles - email ) | Jan 12, 2021

Just to help clarify our thinking, let’s imagine an unpleasant possibility: that sooner or later, we’ll all be infected with the Covid virus.

This isn’t an outlandish idea. Masks and social distancing haven’t stopped the spread of the disease. The virus has continued to spread—at an accelerated rate, recently—despite painful and intrusive government restrictions on our behavior. The vaccines are unproven at best; they may not work, and their potential side effects are daunting. Experts (some experts, anyway) tell us that herd immunity is not a realistic prospect for the foreseeable future.

There are other experts who say that we are actually very close to herd immunity. Although their arguments are largely ignored by the mainstream media (which prefer the sensational bad news) and by ambitious politicians (who enjoy their newfound control), I found these experts more persuasive. But in this column I am not addressing the scientific arguments—which I am not competent to assess in any case. I am conducting a thought experiment. What if we are all going to be infected?

I like this at the end of it -

"Stonewall Jackson was renowned not only for his strategic brilliance but also for his personal bravery in battle. When asked how he could appear untroubled by the shells that burst around him, he answered: “God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me.” That’s good advice for anyone to follow, while we wait for the Covid panic to subside."

As we speak, here is a testimony of what it is like to be in the pot boiling with the covid frog.

I became ill on 6th January with what appeared to be the onset of a bad cold or flu like symptoms. Thinking if this is covid, I am officially medically high risk and will probably snuff it.

So used cold/flu remedy over the counter along with cough syrup. After a week, I contacted the doctor and asked for antibiotics to deal with a chest infection that had set in. Now on day 2/3 using antibiotics which have dealt with the infection thank God, but I still have a virus.

Doctor instructed me to have a covid test. It came back negative, so it is still possible to have a normal winter flu in this day and age.

The reason I share all this is because when I was going through the process of booking a covid test. The medical advice on the government site informs us, not to worry about covid symptoms because the majority of people who get the covid only experience normal cold or flu symptoms and we should treat the symptoms with over the counter remedies like we always do. It even stipulates that only a very small number of people develop serious symptoms, which of course we would refer to our doctors.

This information in no way mirrors what the media are saying which is causing so much panic everywhere. As a person in the middle of it, can I assure you who read this, do not let the fear mongers scare you.

Since the common cold is part of the covid family or viruses, of course it will spread through the population, and masking up and locking down only weakens our immune systems and makes us more likely to have less resistance if and when we do come in contact with any virus.

By the way, I do wear a mask for the sake of peace when required, and do keep a very low profile because of age and infirmity. So not guilty of not following the guidelines. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for your kind response. And thank you for thinking of saying a wee prayer. The worst part of this virus for me is I am not able to focus for some reason and prayer has become difficult because it requires energy to focus on prayer. :)

I must admit, I had dinner at a friend's house last night. I did not expect her to have another friend joining us. I brought a clear mask just in case. While they both negated it and accepted my wearing it, after dinner it was wonderful not to put it back on the rest of the evening!!

My priest at Mass yesterday concluded his homily with a wonderful point. If we keep God is our true authority, we will always be free!!

My doctor told me back in the spring that every doctor in Canada received a letter instructing them that they couldn't prescribe HCQ for Covid-19.

I live in Ontario. Yesterday they passed a stay at home oder into law. We can only go out to work, doctor, groceries or emergency. And we can go to jail for 1 year.

My husband read in an Italian newspaper that they have discovered the vaccines are only 20-25% effective. I've said they are not un the business of healing but making money and ever country is spending billions!

No one knows what they are doing. Or a few do know very well what they are doing Last week told my husband I think all world leaders are under a spell. When did leaders of every country regardless of beliefs or government unanimously agree in anything?

Where will this go and how will it end? Let's keep our Trust in God for He knows and we are His.

If you are asking have I got a blocked nose, the answer is I had a lot of sinus and nasal blockage with the infection. Antibiotics have cleared that part of the problem at the moment.

However with the vasculitis an ongoing chronic illness, which in my case affects my upper respiratory tract so they say, blocked sinus is one of the side effects.

In another weeks time if the virus or whatever it is has not improved, I will contact the Consultant who shares with Nephrology and Rhumatology and see what they have to say. This could all be the vasculitis kicking off again. I get involved with about five different ology Consultants for various things that crop up. I think they have a think tank for dealing with these types of illnesses.

Nearly a year has passed since the news broke about the strange virus killing people in China. I think, but could be mistaken, that it was Garabandal who first raised it on the forum. How times have changed since then. I recall being one of very few people wearing a mask in the supermarket. Now, I would be denied entry to the corner shop if I wasn't wearing a mask.

Family members in the high risk category scoffed at me for warning them to at least carry hand sanitiser and use it. One relative in the high risk category insisted on going to Saturday night bingo where everyone was mask-less and most had probably never laid eyes on hand sanitiser. Bingo is cancelled now and may never resume. The same family member hasn't set foot inside a church since the first lock down and, unless the vaccine is a miracle worker, probably won't be he inside a church again until carried in a coffin. Another family member who was a scoffer last year hasn't been further than her back garden since the lockdown. A planned trip into the city very late at night to walk down an empty street and see the Christmas lights and shop windows was cancelled because we have been in another lockdown since the day after Christmas.

All these lockdowns yet we have the dubious honour of having the highest per capita positive cases in the world - higher even than Sweden where there was no lockdown. Our hospitals are under stress, they tell us. Like that's something new here where for years we have been treated to regular scare stories about the number of people on trollies or waiting lists.

I have no problem wearing a mask. It may or may not provide protection but it helps me feel safer in the supermarket or church on the rare occasions I have been able to go to Mass. I'm simply baffled that people who only a year ago dismissed all concerns about the virus have morphed into mask and vaccine Nazis. Whatever happened to the common sense approach of an ounce of prevention being better than a pound of cure? That approach was absent from world governments this time last year, yet now they would coerce us into taking a vaccine after indemnifying the makers against liability should it have long term negative side effects.

I wear a mask and am not against anyone taking the vaccine. I just wish they would take their jackboots off the necks of those of us who aren't in a rush to jump on their latest bandwagon. If you're in the high risk category, take precautions. If you have teenage or young adult children or grandchildren check where they are and who they are mixing with. Grandparents who think that butter wouldn't melt in their grandchildren's mouths should bear in mind that the world has far too many drug addicts whose parents believed that their Mary or Johnny would never touch the stuff. In short, take precautions and leave the rest of us in peace to get on with our lives. Is that asking too much in these supposedly enlightened and liberated times?

Julia I too have vasculitis and sinus issues were constant. Then I started doing saline nasal rinses as soon as I felt it coming..and I haven't had to go on antibiotics any longer. It works and I feel better within a couple if days. You don't need any expensive machine. I bought the gand held plastic squeezable bottle. And you'll need the packets of saline.

    Hope you're better soon.

Where I am, if I were to take the bus anywhere, I have to have a mask on or I can't ride. And that would limit where I can go. And just about everywhere insists on masks. Oh, well. I guess it'll end when God decides to end it. I read somewhere recently that the coronavirus might be around for a good long time. Kind of like the flu, I guess. As long as we get the flu vaccine, it's less likely for us to get it. Who knows about the COVID vaccine. It may help, but for how long?

Padraig's take on this is the one I truly believe in, and that is that the world needs to pray and do penance. If that happened, the corona virus would go away. As it is now, not only might the corona virus stay, but perhaps something worse will come our way. This is a chastisement. IMHO

I bet that the Carona-virus will curiously wax and wane for quite some time yet and due to fear the general population who are viewed as carriers will continue to be restricted and poked with needles when someone deems it appropriate or thinks they may have a miracle solution. Step back and look at the reaction to all this logically given the science. Scientists and governments are willing to experiment on the worlds population with unproven and untested cocktails. The Queen (and I am sure many others) has been holed up in Windsor castle since March with a reduced staff. Yes, I understand that she is old and high risk. However, the reaction to this is so out of proportion with the illness it doesn't take much of a leap to figure out that some people die from it and it's generally fast and very little can be done to save them. This leads me to suspect that there may be some genetic trait involved with those who succumb to it. It also leads me to think that England and America are disproportionately high in populations containing this trait or marker. That has been turned into a huge propaganda win for the MSM in the case of blaming the president but I would be willing to bet that blame will miraculously cease for our next president when the next round comes. Make of that what you will.

I think it is an act of charity for most of us to comply with all the bazaar restrictions and requirements because the overwhelming majority of us even if we get it certainly won't succumb to it. I have had 3 family members get it. All recovered and two said it was hardly as bad as a cold. One has it now (73 years old) and is doing fine. I have no issue with the things they are asking us to do, it's the christian thing to do anyway. None of us wants this thing to kill people obviously. However, I don't believe for one minute these precautions or our love will stop this. It's far bigger than us.
The president has called the vaccines miracle drugs repetitiously. It's all over the news and media. Lots of miracles to go around. More and more over the top language and not just from him.
