Wow! Agree 100% it is time. Let's pray that this spreads and maybe just maybe we will have some leaders, bishops, priests, and us marching around the world for a God given right. The most profound of which would be in front of St. Peter's square. Imagine what a statement that would make.
Our priest did that just last Sunday. Afyer live streamed Mass he invited parishioners to go and drive through and they would give communion in drive through in front of the door. He's also going to see how many chapels them can set up for private 10 minute prayers. As 10 people are permitted for private prayers.
I disagree with the author’s statement “The whole canonically-regular edifice is going under.” This seems schismatic to me. At the very least, the author is jumping the gun in his assessment. Imho, it’s too early to make such a broad sweeping statement about the Holy Catholic Church. Maybe never. This is Christ’s Church.
Peter K. has never voiced support for anything schismatic, ever. I think you may be taking his words a bit out of context. Here's a little more of that quote you are taking issue with: "The whole canonically-regular edifice is going under; it is falling in line for state subservience. COVID continues to show that we are already living in a state church..." He isn't saying that you shouldn't follow the Roman Catholic faith, he is critiquing the response the institutional church gave during this pandemic and the current trajectory of it's leadership. Who can argue his point here? Here's a map during which shows that there wasn't a single diocese which held public masses during Holy Week in our country (USA) (credit: Eric Sammons): Completely unbelievable to me still to this day, what a tragedy.
It is a tragedy. But I stand by what I said. He said way more than a critique, imho. I’m waiting to see what Cardinal Burke says, and Bishop Strickland, and Archbishop Cordileone. There is more to be considered than just Peter K’s opinion.
Fortunately my diocese & the couple surrounding us did not change anything for Christmas. All public Mass and ongoing Confession. Confession is handled creatively in the church by each priest.
So my Pastor was letting a small group of us (up to 10), to attend the 9am Mass, and I was so happy. But he received some complaints, so it got shut down and we aren’t allowed to stay for Mass anymore. Why would someone do that, especially if it was a parishioner who complained.
Recall that at the funeral of Cardinal Meisner, Pope Benedict XVI had this message read: “ ...what moved me all the more was that, in this last period of his life, he learned to let go and to live out of a deep conviction that the Lord does not abandon His Church, even if the boat has taken on so much water as to be on the verge of capsizing..” +
I hate these lockdowns but the Epiphany Mass online was a treat. If only I didn't have to watch it on Facebook but they don't have a webcam. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=863052697824944
Yes, who can argue it? Pope Benedict said that the barque of the Catholic Church seems to be on the verge of capsizing, and that was in 2017. Abp Fulton Sheen prophesied about the anti-Church and anti-Christ: "The pre-Communist Russian belief is that he will come disguised as the Great Humanitarian; he will talk peace, prosperity and plenty not as means to lead us to God, but as ends in themselves … The third temptation in which Satan asked Christ to adore him and all the kingdoms of the world would be His, will become the temptation to have a new religion without a Cross, a liturgy without a world to come, a religion to destroy a religion, or a politics which is a religion–one that renders unto Caesar even the things that are God’s. In the midst of all his seeming love for humanity and his glib talk of freedom and equality, he will have one great secret which he will tell to no one: he will not believe in God. Because his religion will be brotherhood without the fatherhood of God, he will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counterchurch which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ … But the twentieth century will join the counterchurch because it claims to be infallible when its visible head speaks ex cathedra from Moscow on the subject of economics and politics, and as chief shepherd of world communism.” (Fulton J. Sheen, Communism and the Conscience of the West [Bobbs-Merril Company, Indianapolis, 1948], pp. 24-25)" https://www.romancatholicman.com/archbishop-fulton-sheen-prophesy-condition-church-today-2/ +
I love Fulton Sheen. But we are not there yet. Stay in the Barque, people. No salvation outside of it.
It's a bit like a family fight. But make no mistake about it, it is family. We are family. ..all the same family fights and Civil Wars are the very worst kind. Love and Hate are so easily two sides of the one coin.
I honestly think we are in that three and a half years spoken about, and wonder if it will end with the abomination of desolation set up where it ought not to be. Some sort of idol on or over the high Altar in Saint Peters.
There are still a few prelates left. Archbishop Cordileone, Bishop Schneider, Bishop Strickland, Cardinal Sarah. Archbishop Cordileone has been fighting in San Francisco to keep Mass open. The gates of hell will not prevail. That’s why I’m certain. We will know. Edit: Oops. I left out Cardinal Burke.
