all regions of the state where I live (Santa catarina) are at a very serious level, so I think it is more prudent to follow the medical recommendations of not crowding at this time, although I am sad about it.

Funny you should say that about the government and being robatized...that'sexactly what I realized.. I couldn't sleep the other night and grabbed my rosary and asked God to guide me. As soon as I started praying I saw the image of my grandchildren singing happy birthday to Jesus in front to the nativity scene while holding a birthday candle. (.I started this wirh them when they were around 3). And I realized how important this small gesture is..how important it is for my small grandchildren for them to know what this day means I realized its Jesus' birthday and he came down from heaven to save us and I got my answer right then. So I changed my mind. I'm having my kids over (except for one..he's got no immune system and being very cautious). I'm at peace with my decision. .Hopefully I won't have the covid police at my door, including my brothers who are going to give me a really hard time when they find out!

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone in this forum a very Merry Christmas. May the Birth of Jesus bring each of you joy, peace, health, comfort and His love. I'm so glad I found this forum. You've all become a family to me..I will pray for all of you. God bless you!.

Yes, with our mother and my son and his girlfriend for Christmas Eve, 7 total. We are all in same city and see each other often. Not with my sister's family, she is an ER doctor, also in same city.

Mother-in-law and my wife's sister, her husband and 2 teen age kids Christmas day, could be 11 :D. We also see them often and won't stop.

Doug Ford, our Ontario premier doesn't get to dictate that family relationships and get-togethers especially during Christmas are no longer essential.

My wife did get a recent covid test to make our mother's more comfortable. Not that she felt sick. We are all healthy.

Province on full lock down Dec 26-Jan 23rd.

Life is more than just staying alive.

    Merry Christmas

Lucky it's not the South he came to. He'd be ordered to self isolate and have his Christmas dinner alone in his room.

The HSE's Chief Clinical Officer Dr Colm Henry has said that the new advice for all arrivals from Britain since 8 December to self-isolate is "painful" but necessary.

Dr Henry said the 14-day isolation advice means that anyone who came to Ireland from England, Scotland or Wales from 11 December onwards should eat Christmas dinner alone in their room.

I want to wish all of my family on the forum a Christmas of great blessings of grace and joy. It has been the first unmaterialistic Christmas around here in years. Somehow the presents overtake the meaning usually but this year we are joyful just getting a glimpse of each other. May God grant us all a peaceful Christ centered 2021. God bless us everyone--as Tiny Tim would say.

Glad to meet a fellow Ontarian...I think that just maybe he may have prayed and God moved him to lockdown on the 26th.. rather than the 24th. I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to go to Mass...but I will be so I'm so greatful! I'm near Bradford..are you in TO?

No big deal here. My family is so scattered and far apart that we won't be getting together. Besides, my mom is 81 and step dad is 79, so they would be considered high risk. And me with my lung problems, I'm high risk. I will probably spend part of the day at a friends house for dinner since she invited me today. I think she feels sorry that I'm so alone. Some days it's difficult to be sure. But I've been alone for so long that I'm sort of used to it. Not always happy about it since I do miss the big family get together days from when I was a kid, but those days are gone. I doubt I see much of my family in the future since I'm close to none of them at the moment. So, friends will be more like family these days.

We will be having meat pie after mass on Christmas Eve and then again later Christmas Day will have the traditional turkey dinner with our daughter and her family. She is a community nurse and was scheduled to work for a short time Christmas Day but a wonderful coworker with grown children offered to do the visit for her.Thank you Jesus for all your Blessings. Happy and Holy Christmas to all.

They have announced a curfew here starting St Stephen's Day , enforceable by the police. I never heard of such a thing before. People not to leave their homes from 20.00 in the evening until 6.00am in the morning.

So effectively people will be locked in their homes like prison cells at night. Bizarre. I escape this on two grounds. I work in a hospital and can walk the dogs. :)

People are buying , or stealing, dogs for the most insane prices. Good luck to anyone who wants to try to steal my two. They are complete pscyho's

"From 8pm to 6am that week, the police will have additional powers to enforce things."

People used to be prepared to die for their Freedoms. Now they let the police lock them up in their homes at evening time for the night and tell them who they can eat with.

No one even says , 'Boo!' So sad.

Churches closed again as non essential. Who needs them? The bishops of course will bow their heads again as they always, always have.

I doubt very much if they will be allowed to open again before late Spring.

    A horror picture.

I thought that France or Spain tried that solution a while ago? Did their curve get flattened?
