Now both these, the good angel and the demon will naturally work on , for good or ill on who and what we are. In the case of the Jesuits this great quality would be to be actively apostolic, to work with the world in trying to change it. The great danger being that in trying to change the world that they become part of it. That is what their Tempter Demon has led them into . In the case of the Franciscans their Tempter Demon has led them from loving Creation to Worshiping it as Creator. Hence Pachama.

Yes I am afraid I am a big fan of cancel culture as far as the Vatican is concerned. A big, big fan. I try to leave it to others to take out the garbage. Though recently I have found it fascinating how, 'radical ' people like the Papal Posse, Ralph Martin and Scott Hahn (for instance ) have become (in comparison to their previous positions). Before they were crying , now they tend to scream out loud in full voice.

The garbage could destroy a person's faith. There's no point adopting the the "cover your father's nakedness" approach because so many of our fathers are streaking their nakedness wherever they get the biggest audience. It would be comical if it weren't so harmful. People like Scott Hahn are, to borrow an American expression, a day late and a dollar short. Their voices could have made a difference when Amoris Laetitia attacked sacramental marriage and the Eucharist. Their screams have no impact now. Best pray for the Church. While we can't ignore the Pope's dismantling of the Deposit of Faith, we need to be more careful how we talk about him. Pope Francis and his apologists have brought me to tears in the past. Crying time is over. We'll just have to wait him out. We might have to wait out one or more of his successors. I'm glad I'm old.
I believe that he would not resign now mainly for two reasons: 1. people are waiting for your spiritual counseling in the midst of the difficult time of the pandemic. 2. it would be very difficult to organize a conclave now with restrictions for agglomerations.

I think so too. He would not resign anymore than say, Joseph Stalin o r Mao Tse Tung ever would or come to that any politician ever really wants to. It seems to me Pope Francis is profoundly political rather than spiritual in his essential nature. He has the Big Apple in his hands. He's not about to drop it and head for a Nursing Home, no matter what he may say. He likes it too much. They all do. Look at Joe Biden of Nanci Pelosi for instance. They should both be sitting on rocking chairs watching the sunset and the grand kids.
