I have spent some time reading and thinking about Habakkuk 2.

God responds to the watchman (in this case AED) with the assurance that he, God, is aware of the corruption and shedding of innocent blood, and that the wrong doers will face justice.

Good. We are proved right in not believing the MSM and their rich friends. However, there isn't a time frame given, so can we assume that God will act before the swearing in ceremony? I'm hoping so, but my reading of Hab. 2 is that we can't be sure of when the lies and cheating will be exposed and punished.

Habakkuk was writing at a time when the Israelites had been conquered by Nebuchadnezzar but he would be replaced by a pagan equally as cruel. The prophet only knew that in the end good would triumph, but after much suffering. I may be overthinking this since the context of the original is likely not relevant to the message God intended to give AED at this time.

Interesting that Hab 2 ends with a condemnation of graven idols. Again, overthinking, but the Pachamama came to mind!

God is Lord of the Universe and our only hope and comfort rests in him!

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
    though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Saviour. (Hab. 3 vs 17-18)

I don't think you are over thinking it. You speak many of my own thoughts as I prayed over the passage. God's timing is never our timing but His assurances are clear. The faithful will be saved. The evil will be destroyed. Part of my asking of the Lord involved the Church. I have been utterly appalled at what has been happening although we have been told by popes and saints it would happen. I do not think it will go well with those Quislings and idolaters in our beloved Church. That passage promises a great reckoning. "It is a terrible thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God." (Hebrews)
I took great comfort from the immediacy of Our Lord's response to my very particular questions regarding the election and President Trump and also the state of the Church.-- and and from His promise that we shall see the wicked punished and the faithful saved. Also I was asking specifically about prophetic words received by some evangelicals. It seems to me Jesus was saying His Vision is coming--He didn't say these "prophets" had no vision. So I am back to the place of prayer--Our Lady's words to Sister Lucy about the power of the Rosary in these days. The prayers of the remnant are being heard. So Rosaries rosaries Rosaries!!!!
(I hope this makes sense--I just got up!!)

I'm from India and I've prayed for President Trump for years. He has been great on the pro-life issue, first US President to address the March for Life, publicly declaring Christmas is all about the birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, having Ave Maria sung in the White House etc. I pray for him and for the future of Christendom. May God's Will be done.

    Article from Epoch Times: https://m.theepochtimes.com/mkt_app...rs-vow-to-oppose-electoral-votes_3627956.html

"President Donald Trump’s multilayered effort to challenge the results of the election is expected to culminate on Jan. 6, 2021, when the Electoral College vote count will almost surely be challenged by a group of Republican lawmakers who vow to block electors from seven states where allegations of voter fraud and misconduct have been raised.

The Republican presidential electors in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico cast procedural votes for Trump on Dec. 14, creating dual slates of electors in Congress for the first time since 1960. This year, only the Democratic electors’ votes in the seven states come affirmed with certificates of ascertainment signed by state authorities and are on display on the website of the National Archives.

The president and several third parties are pursuing legal challenges in six of the seven states, including several cases pending in the U.S. Supreme Court. The lawsuits allege that millions of votes—enough to alter the outcome of the 2020 presidential race—were illegally cast, processed, or counted. Actions by the courts in any of the cases over the next two weeks would impact how the electors from the disputed states are counted during the joint session of Congress.

Rule as they may, the courts can’t dictate how each member of Congress should vote. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), the first congressman to say he will lodge a challenge when the votes are counted, told The Epoch Times that it’s up to individual citizens to demand that their representatives take a stand and support the challenges.

“The only thing that will get the congressmen and senators to do what is right for our country on this issue of voter fraud and election theft is active participation by American citizens who want honest and accurate elections. Now, can American citizens actively participate? Very simply, they have to call their congressmen and their senators and demand that they support this effort to protect our election system from fraud and illegal conduct,” Brooks told The Epoch Times on Dec. 21.

“And the way in which our congressmen and senators do that is by rejecting the Electoral College votes of those states who have such badly flawed election systems as to render the reported election results unreliable and inaccurate.”

President Donald Trump turned up the heat on the event by calling on his supporters to descend on Washington on Jan. 6 for a protest.

“Be there, will be wild!” he wrote on Twitter.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has acknowledged former Vice President Joe Biden as the president-elect amid standing legal challenges by President Donald Trump to the results of the elections in the seven states.

McConnell also has urged Republican senators to not join in on the challenge, arguing that it will create harmful optics for the party. To the lawmakers who plan to stand up for Trump, the opposite is true.

Trump: Republican Senators Should Object to Electoral College Votes

“To me, it’s a bad look for the party not to step up at this point in time. To me, Donald Trump has transformed the Republican Party,” Rep.-elect Barry Moore (R-Ala.) told The Epoch Times. “So many of us have campaigned on his coattails in the past and now he needs us and it’s time to step up. … We have got to make sure that 75 million Americans don’t feel like their vote doesn’t count anymore.”

Brooks said: “What is important is how the vote looks in the United States of America. The issue is going to be very simple. Are members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate going to support or acquiesce to voter fraud and election theft or are they going to fight it, bearing in mind that our election system is the underpinning of our republic? If you do not have an honest and accurate election system, you have no Republic.”

Several House Republicans have joined Brooks in saying they’ll challenge the electoral votes, including Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and four representatives-elect who will begin their terms on Jan. 3, 2021: Moore, Bob Good (R-Va.), Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). Brooks said there are more than enough House members on board to challenge each of the seven disputed states.

One member of the House and one senator are required to lodge a challenge; no senators have committed to joining the challenge.

Five senators, including Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Sen.-elect Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), have indicated they are open to joining the challenge.

“The issue is not whether there will be a senator who will join this effort on the Senate side. The issue is how many are going to join us,” Brooks said.

“We have a rapidly growing group of House Members and Senators,” Taylor Greene wrote on Twitter Monday after attending a White House meeting concerning the electoral vote, adding that the “Jan 6 challenge is on.”

Yes it does make perfect sense..we need to pray the rosary every day. In November I came across the combat rosary used by the Swiss guards. There is so much meaning and protection attached to the medals and to the crucifix. So beautiful. I ordered 5 of them..one for each man in my family. Had them blessed by my priest and then realized there is a special exorcize prayer for the blessing..I took them back to him but he said the blessing he had said worked but I had s hard time with his response so I told Jesus, I'm not priest but I pray this prayer anyway and then dipped each of them in holy water. They are gun metal and perfect gift for men. So now I need to pray they will pray the rosary every day and carry it with them always. In the last few months I've been asking my guardian angel to go to each of my children and whisper in their ears every hour on the hour that they need to pray the rosary, to repent and convert and return to God and that if he can't do it to tell their own guardian angels to do it because as their mother I believe I have the right to ask them. I add this to my prayer to my guardian angel every night.
We definitely need to spread the need of praying the rosary.

I think context matters. A friend on a protestant end-times forum where I'm the token Catholic pointed out that the first chapter describes how Israel is oppressed, and questioned if we have been sufficiently oppressed for chapter 2 to apply yet.

I like that you used the word "Quisling"! It is so descriptive and much better than the word "traitor"!

I saw it just now on a Twitter feed. It quotes the Vatican but I can't find any proof. Wondered if anyone else had heard it.

They broke the story. They claim a source in the Vatican.

It's Austin Ivereigh who is a Francis fan. And he says 'sometime in 2021' but this seems to be based on the Pope's earlier statement that his pontificate would be short, 'four or five years'.

So not official but conjecture based on an early interview. I thought that Francis was being opaque, maybe playing with us a little. I am not sure I believe he will stand down unless he's sure that his successor will continue in the course he has set. Which means he has to make sure the College is full of people who think like the St Gallen set. Just my thoughts.

So, when he announces it, we all start praying and fasting that the Holy Spirit give the cardinals a good, solid THWAP upside the head (with greatest love, of course) and tells them to LISTEN!
