As a nurse of 40 years I am a HUGE proponent of vitamins and oils. I don't see how you categorize this as New Age?
Lemon oil, Lavender oil, Thieves oil......beautiful options. I used Lemon oil for nausea during cancer therapy. I diffuse Thieves oil in my home as an antibacterial property. Why is that New Age> that's a big lump sum of oils.

No prophet of our time has been given more information on oils, natural remedies for things to come, which no human pharmaceutical can touch, then Luz de Maria. I use the Good Samaritan oil daily and have no fear of the Covid virus. A worse virus is in the works now and I believe God has provided the remedies for. I continue to bless my acreage/home and property with exorcised holy water/salt trusting in God's guiding hand. Each to their own, but no doubt in my mind God has provided the means and all we need is active faith.

I think we are wise to use all of the items on this earth to heal ourselves. crushing botanicals into therapeutic oils has occurred since the dawn of man. I trust items of nature more than pharmaceutical companies at this point...God put them there for us to use.

Donna, did the Lemon oil work? What other oils do you use for treatment, have you a link to a good site or book?

I just know this stuff from years at looking at Alternatives to western medicine which I have often seen hurt people. I used an acupuncturist twice a week during chemo/radiation and my side effects were greatly mitigated. He is a Korean Catholic....I love him. Acupuncture is so effective it is used as anesthesia during open heart surgery in China. And best of all it is completely effective....there is no calling up of spirits or buddhist zen practice to it. It is utilizing thousand year old points on the body. When I am nauseous, he sticks needles in my wrist which is the pressure point for nausea in the body. That is how the product Seabands works on your wrist....anyway here is a link for you Padraig.

By the way, I use my acupuncture time to pray....the first 20 minutes I lay on my back on a heated bed with a heated lamp with my needles in. I pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet during that time. When he turns me on my back I pray the rosary so I use this time for meditation. He has a statue of the Blessed Mother in my room....

Thank you Donna. Great to see you are keeping well.

I think I will get two real books on Practical use of oils and acupuncture for Christmas.:)

By the way Selenium is very good against contracting the virus. I just got a bottle there now. :)

It's also a cancer inhibitor, especially for women.

Personally I am exceeding happy That Mark Mallet has been enlightening by the Holy Spirit!
    Praise God!

Over the last 10 months, I would cringe if and when I read Mark Mallett's thoughtfully massaged, messages of Pope Francis, especially if Mark was defending the obvious spins given on scripture and the subtle craftily caressed changes to the church magisterium; those teachings and actions that we know have not only skated on the edge of heresy but have taken many a double flip and half twist to corral and mystify the sheep.

Pope Francis has given us, the faithful Catholics, (in his 7 year reign) neither clear teachings nor any defence of the eternal truths of our Catholic Faith!
    The Dubia remains unanswered
    and additionally many divisive and even heretical ideas have been given presidency with an air of acceptability within our church;
whether this has been intentionally or not it remains a main concern for all Catholics and we need clarification.

In reality the majority of these new teachings do not in any way assimilate with, the true faith of our fathers; The watered down faith that we are currently expected to swallow, is sickly in the mouth and nauseating to the stomach, hence we are vomiting. We can not be expected to accommodate new teachings that contradict Our Lord Jesus specific teachings and cautions.

May God Have Mercy on His Church. Amen. and

Thank you Holy Spirit, for enlightening Mr Mark Mallett, May You continue to inspire him with truth. Amen

Verne, I believe the story is if you buy new grapes and rub them on previously blessed grapes, then the blessing transfers and you will never go hungry during "the three days of darkness."

This is not an accepted Catholic practice; you cannot simply 'transfer' blessings. Neither does the Church accept as supernatural the mystical messages that recommend the practice. Even Daniel O'Connor--no slouch in spreading fringe mysticism-- has distanced himself from this practice in his Sept. 25, 2020 blog post (red in the original):

I’d especially ask that readers know that I have nothing to do with any claims pertaining to alternative medicine or naturopathy of any sort, “blessed grapes,” alleged Coronavirus remedies/prevention measures, essential oils, or the more “out there” conspiracy theories one may find in some videos on QPM (Queen of Peace Media) not created by me (while I am indeed a CTTK contributor, I am not associated with QPM).

With respect, Verne, saying an unnamed priest told you something is not proof of anything.

Nor is the notion of three days of darkness even a part of Catholic teaching. It is a popular idea. I suspect it may fall into the same category as The Warning, which, when investigated, showed to have less substance than commonly believed, here:

    Donna,

(Edited) I was not speaking about natural remedies in general, but specifically of "the New Age remedies [Mallett] promotes through CTTK." Mark Mallett directly links his wife's mail order business to the CTTK page on natural remedies.

The company through which the Malletts sell their oils--Young Living-- is definitely associated with the New Age. This was extensively debated on the Countdown thread. [Edited to add] The company also received an FDA warning for false claims, and is the subject of a California class-action lawsuit for fraud.

    Some posts:

The National Catholic Register report on alleged cures for covid-19 discusses Luz de Maria's alleged messages and false claims made regarding essential oils. (Note: The newspaper questions the validity of the imprimatur Luz received):

    As for New Age Ties,

The New Yorker magazine ran an investigative article on essential oils, in which they covered the New Age ties of the Young Living company. It is well worth a read for anyone interested in this topic. Young Living and its founder, Gary Young, is in the second part of the article:

    Well, Fatima,

Perhaps you should ask Padraig how he feels about the virus, since he has seen its impact at his work. As for faith protecting you, do you believe you can handle deadly snakes or drink poison without fear? We are not supposed to put God to the test.

Edited to add: The recipe for "Good Samaritan Oil" is the same as for Thieves Oil. Thieves Oil is a traditional remedy that dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was sold to ward off the Black Death. We all know how that turned out...

I will not name the priests name for he has been persecuted in MN for standing up for the truth.

"Standing up for the truth?" Verne, that is such a non-response response. It sounds good, but it serves to deflect, not to explain, and has the added bonus that it makes you look good by having such a stand-up friend.

I am sorry, but it feels like it's a really manipulative answer, especially on the heels of saying you can't name the alleged priests, theologians, etc., who endorse you because Cletus promised them 14 years ago to keep their names out of it.

The ingredients in thieves' oil are pretty simple and natural. The evidence for immune boosting and the antimicrobial properties are very good and easily understood. Trying to demonize it, as huge numbers of people pump massive synthetic drugs into themselves to attempt to heal or fend off sickness is disingenuous (like your black death comment). It's just an immune booster if ingested and studies proving benefit inhaling are generally positive too. Like anything more studies are always needed.

It's not snake oil despite the weak effort you use to prove otherwise. And the anti-Catholic spin by association is sad. Usually best to admit you just don't know about a topic or avoid criticizing it, but why waste an opportunity to hate on MM. lol
