Wow! This is a case where the words are worth more than a thousand pictures. There is a funny old saying i have always liked: "O Lord make my words tender and sweet today for tomorrow I may have to eat them."
Julia, I don't think you are referring to the correct person in your comments here re: Luz de Maria. I believe that you may possibly be referring to another "Mary" individual who has been written about now for years and rejected. I know of no LdM "contentious" messages that had to be withdrawn. There have been some others who I believe also are confusing LdM with the other individual who received a lot of press. I believe that that confusion is easily made since there is much more written about that other person than Luz de Maria. Just for general knowledge for others here, all of the LdM messages up to a certain year were studied and then printed by the Bishop who knew/knows the seer LdM personally who (seer) is also a third order Augustinian. He gave not only his Imprimatur of a Bishop familiar with the whole thing to the messages up to that time (Imprimatur was granted in 2018...so pretty recent) but also approved the Title, Image, Devotion, and named the feast day and encouraged others to follow all of it. His approval, since it involved what is required in the protocol, will be used whenever an official commission of study is established, if ever. And for the faithful his personal knowledge of all of the messages up to the time of his granting of all of these things, and his witness to nothing being against the Faith by his Imprimatur is what they may go by during the time permitted for discernment prior to any definitive judgement.....if or when that ever occurs. On another note....Re: some of the other negative darts thrown here at the good people of the CTTK site....the one re: the faithful wife of Mark Mallett and his "shilling" for her small business reached a new low when it comes to the command of charity and bearing false witness. I feel like this has turned into one of the fake news sites that pollute the air in order to target others who are nowhere around to offer their own defense...which they shouldn't have to do anyway. It's gotten pretty sick here. There is a long offering given by Mark Mallett about his wife's learned knowledge re: how such helps of natural medicines had been a saving grace during a very serious sickness and brought her back when other things failed. She had also helped her mother I believe. Afterwards, and with the rather extensive knowledge that she had acquired she felt that she could help others who also were not receiving solutions from the common protocols of medicine. And since she had experienced difficulty in finding good products she learned by experience which helped and which didn't. Her site is very well done and easy to navigate for the newbie. I'm surprised that Mark hasn't been accused of "shilling" for himself when he actually charges for the books he offers for the benefit of others, recent one granted a Nihil Obstat, or when the God given art talent that is truly lovely which his family members have created is also offered. I suppose art galleries "shill" for their clients who also just happen to make their living from such. Reminds me of those gripers who constantly refer to the seers' larger homes in Medjugorje that were expanded to serve, 24/7, the influx of pilgrims that grew and grew from the time when the pilgrims were given the beds of the locals while they slept on the floor. BTW, the numbers of visitors has been reduced by the COVID there as well by around 90% so that this income for these simple good people has been greatly reduced....so please pray for them. RE: the NCR article, Mark wrote an excellent, more resourced than the critical article, and objective re: the long accepted use of same helps going back to the Old Testament. In case people aren't aware of it, there are major hospitals in the world that only offer holistic/herbal/natural medicine. With the doctor of the Church, Hildegard von Bingen, regardless of any misuse by any cults of her research (which btw happens as well w/ pharmaceutical meds when it's illegally peddled after being stolen), is still considered the foundation of medicine in Germany. Again, places such as the renown cancer hospital, Sloan Kettering, in NY, has its own uses for such natural medicines as helps to its protocol treatments as aids. We're finding that simple method of assisting various ailments has a long proven history as used by our own forebears for decades if not centuries. When our Lord used such natural means as he blessed the sick we see that our faith plays a great part in such uses and that faith is emphasized by our Lady in the LdM messages more than anything else. That puts the intention for the use of the suggestions within the LdM messages in a separate category while the attention given to them usually offers a a this world only assessment. And yet I hardly ever see that very important part of the messages included correctly when the targeted attacks come out. https://www.markmallett.com/blog/the-real-witchcraft/
I’m not sure what you are getting at here. Are you saying that Jesus blessing the sick compares to using natural remedies?
Some examples are given within the link I offered. One is Jesus' acknowledgement of healing the wounds of the victim in the parable of the Good Samaritan w/ "oil and wine". Then one not contained in that source is of course the Lord's use of His spit making a paste of the earth when healing the blind man...... Jewish rabbis considered saliva to be a valid treatment for blindness. "In many cases, Jesus merely spoke, and healing followed (e.g., Matthew 15:28; Luke 17:12-14). Yet, in three cases, Jesus used His spittle in the process of healing." I happen though to like this first mention from the OT: The Lord created medicines [healing herbs; NAB} from the earth, and a sensible man will not despise them. (Sirach 38:4) and then..... Their fruit is used for food, and their leaves for healing.(Ezekiel 47:12) …the leaves of the trees serve as medicine for the nations.(Rev 22:2) Precious treasure and oil are in the house of the wise… (Prov 21:20) One might not be all that far afield to imagine that along with the cleansing/purification of the earth the normal prescriptions of today may not exist! And of course, while people like to make light of the use of certain formulas offered by our Mother, as within the much maligned "Good Samaritan Oil", the purpose for such is regular science.....helps as protection from the various flus, viruses, etc. There is the emphasis within these natural helps for building up the immune system. Such poor systems are one of the reasons why the sick/compromised/ or elderly could not fight off the "novel" COVID virus. and within the messages re: coming "plagues" (Trump usually refers to this COVID as a "plague") is the mention that preparation is needed because science will not be capable of controlling promptly. I would say that we are living that out from the moment this "novel" virus entered the scene.....it could not be controlled promptly. One just has to look up the natural benefits from each one of the ingredients used to make the Good Samaritan Oil to understand the reasons for such recommendations. It's not rocket science, as they say. It's built into God's own plan for His nature. Just one of those ingredients.....clove oil: The health benefits of clove oil include relief from indigestion, cough, asthma, headache, and some symptoms of stress. The benefits can be attributed to its anesthetic, antimicrobial, antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral, aphrodisiac, and stimulating properties. Boosts Immune System Both cloves and its oil are useful for boosting the immune system. Their antiviral properties can help fortify resistance to a multitude of diseases because the antioxidants in clove essential oil scavenge the body of dangerous free radicals. And then there's Cinnamon: Loaded With Antioxidants Eucalyptus: High in antioxidants Rosemary: High in antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory compounds Lemon: Supports Heart Health Protects Against Anemia Reduces Cancer Risk Vitamin C (Boosts immunity) and of course there is the oft mentioned "oil of oregano": Natural antibiotic Powerful antioxidant anti-inflammatory properties relieves pain Healing wounds Fighting cancer
Sam, God has given people the right, but not "duty" to slander his prophets, his messengers. The prophets throughout all of biblical history we treated the same, were they not? Jesus used the theme of Noah and Sodom as the clearest examples of what it would be like when the Son of God returns. The "ark" as you know has different symbolic meanings. And yes, Mary is the ark as one of them as you say. Will Mary refuse those who reject God's prophets? No. Will she further assist those who are listening and preparing and helping others to prepare for the end of the age? Yes. Does God send his mother, as queen of prophets, to be dismissed and often times slandered in the past and present? Why does God send his prophets, as he said he would, if not to prepare for what he has revealed? Why are prophets only given their due after the events are fulfilled by most? Jesus knew and said it would be no different when he returns. It is easy to be a naysayer. It takes no effort, no discernment, no study. It is God's faithful, he has trusted to spread the messages of his prophets to our family, friends, neighbors etc..... and almost all have either rejected his prophets or are clueless of them even being given. I for one, believe God will hold those culpable who he has been given much and they have rejected his prophets. God will judge us all for what he has given. Best to remain silent then scorn one of Gods messengers and if ones cannot discern then pray, fast and do not work against those whom seem credible and within the consensus of other trustworthy prophets of God during these time of times. To each their own. I am no ones judge, God will do that. I simply put this out their for discernment and everyone will do as they choose. God will judge us all for what we have done and not done.
I see the connection you are trying to make but wasn’t it Jesus blessing that cured people? Wouldn’t the more apt comparison today be a priest anointing the sick? It makes me think of Mother Marianna from Our Lady of Good Success. She often used rose(?) water when taking care of the sick and they were often cured. However it was her prayers that did it. I couldn’t make up my own water and expect to cure people. Like I said earlier essential oils have their place but I find it upsetting to see them touted as a cure all. If lemon and oregano oils really cured cancer big pharma wouldn’t be able to hide it.
Well, if you put words where they don't exist then you are speaking more to yourself than to the one to whom you seem to be replying. "Cure cancer"?? Even the "treatments" within the normal protocol of medicine don't promise absolutely to "cure". In fact many today opt for other kinds of natural approaches rather than rely on types of "poison" treatment that can have devastating side effects when it comes to such varied treatments. So often it is only extending time while the disease still "lurks" within. The operative words used were "reduces risk" and "fights". They are an aid to the system to help one not fall susceptible to the disease. With the coming times it will include the faith and trust in the Healer like no other time along with the best helps for the material/defective body that will get one through it. If one has to exaggerate to the extreme then their own position actually agrees more with what he/she is attempting to deny. Jesus spoke of those who were healing in His name even if they were not "one of them" and taught that such could do no harm. God is always in the good. But the good Lord came to us, to live among us.....fully.....we weren't raised to that 3rd heaven to take on any higher powers ourselves......so what was accepted by man and what he felt comfortable with was used in that Humility as a convincing way to draw men to Him in trust. Believers other than the classification of Priests also heal w/ the Holy Spirit in Jesus' name. I'm a bit surprised that people are unaware of that fact. In any case it's always the Spirit acting in Jesus' name. And that necessity of faith is emphasized within the LdM messages. Not to worry!
I didn't like the tone of that Where Peter Is website. They were all in on Amoris Laetitia which I believed and still believe is a dreadful document unworthy of the Holy See. I have sympathy for those who try to put the best spin possible on it in the manner of Lot's sons hiding their father's nakedness. What I find offensive is the attitude which I saw on my first (and last) visit go that website. A whitewash with an air of contempt for everyone, including the four Cardinals, who saw problems with AL was the impression I got from that website. The tone had already been set by the Vatican's communications department when they started their disgraceful attacks on Cardinal Burke. That, too, was unworthy of the Holy See but it's the kind of behaviour we have become accustomed to since 2013. The "we have a new sheriff in town and if you don't like his changes there's something wrong with you" attitude, as though each new Pope begins a new religion. That's the attitude while they rattle on about doctrinal developments and everything being a continuation of what went before. That Pope John Paul kissed a copy of the Koran doesn't make it right for Pope Francis to sign a document declaring that God wills a plurality of religions or to preside over idolatry in the Vatican. And sometimes heresy really is heresy even when it's not politically correct to say so. If it's cancel culture to decide that life is too short and I'm too old to waste my time visiting websites where I find the content biased and the tone offensive, then I'm guilty as charged. I make no apology for it. Sure, Emmett O'Regan wrote a good piece on millenarianism, but I wouldn't be bothered going to that website to read it. Good articles tend to find their way onto less offensive websites, as Emmett's did here. We are overloaded with "what others are thinking". It's shoved down our throats from all angles. Nowadays, we can't even escape it at Mass (when we aren't locked out of Mass). I come here to chat with fellow Catholics who might be a bit blunt at times but for the most part are decent, honest Catholics genuinely trying to grow in their faith and support each other in these uncertain times. Some of them are interested in private revelations. Some likely have never encountered a self-proclaimed prophet they haven't believed. All of them are doing their best to keep and live the faith without demanding that it be changed to suit a lifestyle contrary to what the Church has always taught. If I wanted a dose of politically correct condescension from Mr. or Fr. Whoever with his string of academic or theological qualifications telling me not to believe my lying eyes, I'd spend my time with the Catholic Spring crowd, the Susans from the Parish Council and the Fr. James Martin fan club on forums like Catholic Answers.
Yes you're right about this and I thought about it last night after I went to bed. I should never post in haste. I deleted that insinuation (hopefully that's ok with the moderators) and as you say, I'll pray for Mark & his family and for Fr Michel and his Bishops too as I've done since the attacks on him began. If this priest is a genuine mystic, then all of this humiliation through public attacks will serve to purify him. If he is deluded or worse, then he needs serious prayers and penance for his salvation. Hopefully enough people will be drawn to pray for him and I pray also that the Lord puts the right people on his path who can help him.
What an awesome encouraging post. I love every word of it and concur. God bless you and keep you, may His Holy Face shine on you and all your family and friends, now and forever. Amen.
I have given your post a like out of respect for you. And I can once again confirm Luz De Maria is the correct seer as posted. This is a personal discernment, and shared in a post to underline that I do not accept every Tom, Dick and Harry that comes down the pipeline with alleged messages from Heaven. It was not intended to create a debate on this particular seer. She could be the real deal. But for me, her messages will have to be proven by time or approved by the Church before I would spend the time taking them on board. That is my right according to the Catholic Church. And I respect any forum members decision to support and share Luz De Maria messages. God bless, and be happy. God loves you and me and luz De Maria.
Just two clarifications, Dolours, I posted from Where Is Peter because they happen to have reasonable articles on the Fr. Rodrigue controversy. That's it. I didn't recommend the entire website (I never encountered it before I found a link to a Fr. Rodrigue article). I believe Jimmy Akin and Emmett O'Regan did good jobs in their arguments. They deserved a re-post. However, I still hold with the position against cancel culture. My argument has nothing to do with Where Peter Is, but came from comments of another poster here on MoG, who said (roughly), "if you're wrong about one thing, you can have nothing to say on any other subject." That statement was aimed at a former member. To me that is the essence of cancel culture. (Not Catholic culture.) I'd say MoG does not represent mainstream Catholic thinking--whether that's a feature or a bug is up to the reader. People here post "messages" way out there; some of the "messengers" are extreme. Some of the views are also extreme--I believe the "True Magisterium" vs. "Institutional Church" talk I've seen is pretty close to the line. I post what I think about these things. I advocate for banning some material--condemned messages--but never any person.
