BINGO! It does not hurt to discuss. The current hierarchy could stand to discuss a few things. That's for sure. As far as the CTTK site goes. I read its updates just cause I'm interested. I also read several other Catholic related websites everyday. I will say that Fr. M's writings are a bit out there for me. However, that doesn't mean that all of their contributors are false. There very well could be some truth in a few. I can also say this with 100% accuracy. CTTK website led me to start praying the Rosary with my family everyday. Praying the rosary began giving us joy and peace. Wanting to know more, we wondered upon this website/forums. Mother of God has some great content. I would not advocate not reading a website because someone says so, just do your due diligence and discern and pray over the content. If you find something good in a message, hold onto it. Such as praying the Rosary. WTW posted that article that states many messages have several errors, but will most likely contain some truth as well. I've posted several time on here that I am amazed that someone like me, who graduated from Catholic Schools, celebrates the Sacraments and mass but yet has very rarely heard about prophesy. Yes that's true. Even Fatima and Akita are not discussed openly in the church. I understand and am obedient to private revelation not being apart of the communal doctrine of faith. But, it seems like the church should at least preach and discuss the foundations of how the laity, like myself, can discern and pray over messages when they appear in the modern world. This would help people like us who do come across websites like CTTK. Just my two cents. Blessings to all!
Gisella – The Devil is Unleashed Our Lady to Gisella Cardia on October 10th, 2020: My children, thank you for having responded to the call in your hearts. Dear children, I have again come down to touch this sinful earth in order to help you, to ask and beseech you to help me save the lost souls of my children. Evil is gripping my children as never before; at the moment the Devil is more unleashed [1] than ever because he knows that his days are numbered. Your love must be total. You will see people going mad, you will see unexpected reactions, people cursing God for no reason, and all this is the fruit of the Devil; but you must love, forgive and offer up all your discomfort so that Jesus might transform it into Graces. Children, the God of humanity has been replaced by technology. Be ready at any time for when the Illumination [of Conscience] will arrive. Children, your prayers mitigate future events: pray, pray, pray; do not continue thinking about trivial things, but spend your time in prayer rather than in speaking. Pray for America. Children, all is prepared for war: pray, pray, pray! Now I bless you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
I'm not surprised that prophecy is rarely discussed now. I'm not sure, however, that it would make much difference because followers of false seers are often older people who would have heard all about Lourdes and Fatima in their youth. I distinctly remember when I was a child being told that disobedience is always a red flag. Questioning the authenticity of a prophecy isn't an attack on the integrity or sincerity of the prophet but, sadly, that's often how questioners are treated and it serves no useful purpose. I have reservations about Akita but I have no doubt whatsoever that Sr. Sasagawa is a very devout and holy nun. Unfortunately, were I to express my doubts some people would automatically see it as an attack on Sr. Sasagawa.
Pedro – Contributing to the Triumph Our Lady Queen of Peace to Pedro Regis on October 13, 2020: Dear children, I am your Mother and I have come from Heaven to lead you to the One who is your Way, Truth and Life. Know that the way of holiness is full of obstacles, but you are not alone. The Angels of the Lord are with you. Do not be afraid. God’s victory will come for the righteous. The Church of My Jesus will be persecuted and the consecrated will be humiliated. Be faithful. Do not be discouraged. Whatever happens, stay with the true Magisterium of the Church of My Jesus. If you happen to fall, call out for Jesus. Seek Him in prayer and in the Eucharist. Give me your hands and you will be safe. Onward without fear. This is the message that I give you today in the name of the Most Holy Trinity. Thank you for having allowed Me to gather you here once more. I bless you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Be at peace.
I just went to Pedro Regis website. These alleged messages began in October 1987 and continue to the present. In this month--October 2020--Pedro has already posted SEVEN messages to the world from "Our Lady, Queen of Peace," with the last on Oct. 13. It seems clear someone was influenced by Medjugorje. A random sampling across the years shows similar language and themes throughout. In my opinion, there is nothing particularly memorable in any of the ones I've read. This strikes me as wrong in so many ways! Mary was a woman of few words in the Bible. She spent a lot of time "pondering in her heart." Why would she launch herself into a decades long series of messages that are often repetitive? In the approved apparitions, she has something to tell us, and tells us clearly and simply. "I am the Immaculate Conception." "Bring the roses to the bishop." "Let them offend Our Lord no more for He is already much offended." Pedro Regis claims to have received 5,032 messages to the world as of yesterday. The Medjugorje visionaries (alleged) have received many messages over the years, but no where near that number of public messages. This fact, alone, makes me skeptical of Pedro Regis. Not to mention the whole controversy over Pedro Regis and automatic writing, which has been criticized by a well-known Canadian Dominican priest and exorcist. That was discussed earlier in the thread, here https://motheofgod.com/threads/countdown-to-the-kingdom.14596/page-110#post-308057
Point of inquiry..... According to the article in Catholic Culture about private revelations, https://www.catholicculture.org/culture/library/view.cfm?recnum=6602 Garabandal has not been approved and has been "judged to be false" by local bishops yet it has been widely promoted even on this site. Why is that??
Paragraph from the article under the title : Examples of Visionaries Judged to be False "Another example: the alleged apparitions in Garabandal in northern Spain, in which four young girls alleged that the Virgin Mary appeared to them from 1961-1965. The response of successive bishops of the diocese of Santander has been uniformly negative, and the present Bishop Vilaplaua has concurred with this verdict. Despite this, there are a number of active associations supporting Garabandal. A simple case of disobedience to lawful authority."
Thanks, but is there any statement from an official church source, or someone/some group which is not an advocate?
Here is a link to the most recent statement by the local Bishop, mentioned above... https://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/library/alleged-apparitions-at-garabandal-3719 I will accept the final ruling of the Church on Garabandal beforehand. 1) constat de supernaturalitate (it is established supernatural) 2) constat de non supernaturalitate (it is established not supernatural) 3) non constat de supernaturalitate (it is not established supernatural) Garabandal generally is viewed as fall into the 3rd category. I would not view this as a "negitive judgement" and certainly not "Judged to be false". I will say the list of saints and other Holy people who had a personal belief in the Garabandal apparitions is quite impressive.
The link given says awhole lot of words that mean nothing?? Wha?? I too will go by the final ruling of the church.....if and when that comes about!
Ive come to the conclusion that its best and safest way to approach these modern day apparitions is not to have ANY opinion on ANY of them. Ill will read them.Period. I will hold fast to the established, church approved apparitions.. but.... NOT staunchly defend and promote( as some do) NOR vociferously condemn and denounce ( as some do) as false any of the ones we are discussing here.
I think you are being extreemly wise. I would also add that I very rarely read them...We have the Bible, the teachings of the Church and the writings of the doctors of the Church if we want to read and be edified.
There have been a couple of official studies that can at any time be added to. And there have been several bishops' opinions as well from the site. There have been more favorable "motions" granted that have eased certain earlier mandates......like priests from outside the parish can celebrated Mass there, etc. So like the many PRs that remain not condemned w/ various opinions offered it seems to stand as is until its time. It's always the grassroots faithful who bring more light to bishops who are truly interested. There is an overall confusion regarding the Church’s position on Garabandal. The girls themselves predicted that the message of Garabandal would find difficulty in being accepted. In the case of the apparitions of Garabandal, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith could have intervened and taken over the investigation of the apparitions, removing it from the hands of the Bishop of Santander. However, the Congregation has persistently refused to disrupt the process, arguing that no event of significance has occurred of recent and therefore, the Congregation has no reason to intervene. They ended up leaving the situation in the hands of the bishop, including that which concerned the issuing of directives, and commending him for the zeal he had shown in this matter. It can be inferred that in the event that the Warning or the Miracle announced should come to pass, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith could change their position. Thus, at least for the time being, the Congregation maintains the position that it has so often chosen in the past: accept the status quo and await results. ......Although two committees convened by the bishops of Santander declared that there were no phenomena capable of authenticating the facts as undoubtedly supernatural, they did not condemn the message. In this regard, the first commission stated, "We find nothing in need of ecclesiastical censure or condemnation, neither in the doctrine nor in the spiritual recommendations supposedly addressed to the faithful." Bishop Juan Antonio del Val, who called the second commission, upon retiring from office stated that, "the message of Garabandal was important and theologically correct." ......Although in these notes, for the time being, the bishops do not find anything supernatural about the alleged apparitions (a question that remains open to revision in light of new information or in light of a better scientific study of existing information), they have said nothing against the content thereof (“we have not found anything deserving ecclesiastical censure or condemnation either in the doctrine or in the spiritual recommendations that have been published”), and this was and is precisely their role as the Church that instructs. .......Thus, officially speaking on both a diocesan level and in terms of the Vatican, “the case remains open,” gathering new information. Visiting clergy can celebrate Mass in the local church. Technically speaking, the case of the apparitions of Garabandal cannot be closed until two great prophecies are fulfilled: (1) The Warning and (2) The Miracle. Of course the best one to speak on the current status would be Glenn who has documentation of reports, etc. ..... at the thread on forum: GARABANDAL INFO & ANSWERS
Good and solid advice NSM!!! I have to say , altho I think CTTK is very foolish to invoke and approve of the seers that are listed on their site, I have followed Mark Mallets postings for years now and have made some very substantial faith building changes in my life that he has brought about in one way or the other. He has been "condemned" by some on this site and I think that they are just plain wrong in that position. Other than him..I dont follow anyone other than a few holy, staunchly Catholic priests. Having said that...If the Church rules that MM is a false prophet..Ill drop him like a hot potato!
No one on this site has the power to "condemn" any one, Ellen. I believe we all understand there is a discernment process going on, which should continue unless someone starts to push ideas contrary to Catholic teachings and/or canon law.
