FROM ANOTHER THREAD, about the Countdown website and Christine Watkin's book "The Warning." This is from a Facebook post. It is from a pretty large public group (14,000+ members) focused on Catholic prayer. I am not a member, and did not participate in the discussions. Nonetheless, it speaks directly to many issues discussed on this thread. Father Rodrigue's Canadian bishops are not alone in their rejection of the underpinnings of Fr. Rodrigue's messages. Becky Malmquist July 28 · The result of the thread in which I asked if there is any evidence from a Church-approved source that explicitly says there will be a worldwide, simultaneous illumination of conscience is that no evidence has been provided so far that meets this standard. All the examples require taking quotes out of context, reading into the text things that aren’t there, or claiming that a saint said something for which there is no primary source corroboration. Some examples: St. Edmond Campion is cited as the first saint to mention the illumination of conscience. But when the quote is read in context, it is clear he is speaking of the Last Judgment, not a worldwide illumination of conscience. St. Faustina is cited as having prophesied a coming illumination, but nowhere in her diary will you find this stated. In order to come to this conclusion, one must create this interpretation without clear evidence. St. Faustina experienced her own illumination; however, this is common among saints and even everyday people who practice mental prayer and pursue a life of union with God. An individual’s illumination is not proof that a worldwide, simultaneous illumination is coming. In the case of St. Faustina, one has to conflate two different things in order to get to the conclusion of a worldwide illumination of conscience. It’s her personal illumination and a vision of a sign in the sky (involving light during darkness). The element of light is used in both cases but with different meanings. Blessed Anna Maria Taigi is quoted as having predicted a worldwide illumination; however, the only evidence of this quote is people saying she said it. There is no evidence in her writings. Pope Pius IX: Like Blessed Anna Maria Taigi’s quote, no original source has been found. Also, he does not explicitly mention a worldwide illumination of conscience; one must read into the text, as is done with St. Faustina. He speaks of a “great wonder” which The Warning proponents interpret as an illumination of conscience. The apparition at Heede, Germany, does not explicitly state that there will be a worldwide illumination of conscience. One has to read this into the text, similarly as is done with the Pope Pius IX quote above and St. Faustina. Along the same lines, some messages of Maria Esperanza, although they have approval, do not explicitly mention a worldwide, simultaneous illumination of conscience. Like the others, one must read this idea into the words. Maria Esperanza said, “In the coming years a new light from Heaven will illuminate hearts.” This could be interpreted to mean increased graces of conversion. Without an explanation, we can’t definitively conclude that what was meant at Betania was a worldwide illumination. Elizabeth Kindlemann’s writings have not been officially declared “worthy of belief” by the Church. Luz de Maria Bonilla’s alleged locutions are ongoing, so they cannot yet be declared worthy of belief. The first example I can find of an explicit reference to a warning or worldwide illumination of conscience comes from the unapproved messages of Garabandal. The local bishops have consistently declared that the supernatural character of the apparitions could not be confirmed. In other words, the messages of Garabandal do not have Church approval. Lastly, there are some red flags concerning “Countdown to the Kingdom:” 1. Countdown to the Kingdom saying that Fr. Rodrigue's bishop approved his messages, and then having to take that back. 2. Vague references to saints without actual quotes. 3. Actual quotes being taken out of context to mean something they did not necessarily mean. 4. Some of the quotes being of questionable authenticity. 5. The connection with Garabandal, which has not been approved by any local bishop. 6. The belief in an extended era of peace that resembles the heresy of Millenarianism. 7. The fairly specific timing indicated in Fr. Rodrigue's recent prophecies 8. The Imprimatur on “The Warning” book is not the acting bishop, but a bishop emeritus. Also, the bishop who gives the Imprimatur should be of the diocese where the book was published. The book was published in Sacramento, CA, but the retired bishop who gave the Imprimatur is in Lipa, Philippines. This same bishop issued an Imprimatur for Vassula Ryden, who was censured by the Vatican. 9. It’s very troubling that people dismiss all these arguments by saying, "Well, you need to have faith." If what a person longs for is His own illumination of conscience, in getting to know God and His will, and having abiding peace and joy, then his time would be better spent learning and practicing mental prayer and pursuing a life of union with God. And if one day a worldwide illumination were to be given, he would be well prepared for such a meeting with God. But more importantly, he will be well prepared to meet God face-to-face in the particular judgment when his life is over. -The Authentic Contemplative Prayer Admin Team
About Pedro Regis... A well-known Canadian priest and exorcist, Father Francois-Marie Dermine O.P., has raised serious questions about Pedro Regis. He notes that Regis uses "automatic writing" while allegedly receiving instruction from Our Lady. According to the Women of Grace website (EWTN program), “Mystics have always been respected in their humanity and their liberty, and have never been guided by God against their will and forced to do things that they could not achieve otherwise,” says Father François-Marie Dermine in an interview regarding his critique of the writings of Vassula Ryden. "A Catholic mystic can never be in the same category as a medium – which is essentially what a person becomes when participating in automatic writing. When a saint writes what God inspires him or her to write, the person is always fully aware of what they’re writing and are not allowing themselves to be used as a kind of channel, which is the case with automatic writing. As this blog explains, automatic writing is also known as trance writing because the recipient goes into a trance and allows a spiritual entity to dictate whatever message it wishes to convey. This is a form of mediumship, or channeling, which allows a spirit to temporarily possess a person." Fr. Dermaine currently serves as the exorcist for the Archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo in Italy and has taught in a course on exorcism offered by the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome. The Countdown authors attempt to counter Fr. Dermaine's critique, in part, by asking: "As for the possibility that Pedro Regis could have invented nearly 5000 messages over a period of nearly 33 years, it has to be asked what possible motivation he could have for doing so. In particular, how could Pedro Regis have imagined the extensive message #458, which he received publicly while kneeling for nearly two hours on November 2, 1991? And how could he have written it down onto over 130 sheets of paper numbered in advance, with the message stopping perfectly at the end of page 130? Pedro Regis, himself, was also unaware of the meaning of some of the theological terms employed in the message. It is estimated that around 8000 witnesses were present, including TV journalists, because Our Lady of Anguera had promised the previous day to give a "sign" to skeptics." It is worrisome if Pedro Regis is now claiming a distinction between a "True Magisterium" and an "Institutional Church" in this message. https://www.womenofgrace.com/blog/?p=14096 .
View attachment 13490 The message of Garabandal was also about the warning. And also Luz De Maria: Attached are aomw clips from messages to Luz De María directly from Jesus, Maria Esperanza? St. Fauatina, and also wirds from 2 popes. So you may not want to believe it, but the warning will happen View attachment 13486 View attachment 13487
You say "lets be careful we are not deceived by cardinals," but the same can be said for anyone in the church, as well as popes, unfortunately. I will say, Pope Francis does some ridiculous things. Such as speaking of a single world economy of saying things like God loves all religions. Those things have never been said by any pope, until now. Now, that does not mean he is wrong concerning the teaching of the church, but it is cause for concern due to the history of things like communism and fascism. The backbone of communism is money ultimately. When you take something that is not yours, even for the "better good," it is stealing, in violation of the 8th Commandment. Thou shall not steal, of course. Let me make something clear, I am NOT a theologian or scholar by any means. If you need a carpenter, then I'm your man! I say this, because everything I write is my very limited understanding of our faith. I am Catholic, and active in the church, have been for 30 years. I have learned a lot, but not everything. I admit this. With that being said, I believe what Mother Mary is saying is simply that because everyone from the Pope, down to you and I, are human, we have the capability to say whatever we want (Free Will!!!). Does not make it right. But, any clergy can change the teaching at anytime. The law of averages states that in all the masses that follow Catholicism, you are going to have a few bad apples. We know about the bad popes, the sex abuse and those priest caught laundering money. So we know the changing of teaching is entirely possible. But, just my opinion. I hope if someone does change teaching, that its really really obvious, so I can see it coming.
Hello. My take-away from a series of teachings done by a very knowledgeable exorcist, Fr. Chad Ripperger, is that Communists use the playbook of the demonic in all their words/actions. The parallels are so uncanny, its unnerving. Socialism stems from Communism. Pope Francis shows his socialist leanings time and time again. Therefore, I think I can make a connection here that makes me very sorrowful: that Pope Francis has been infected, as we all have to a certain degree, with diabolical disorientation. (I mean no disrespect to his person in saying this.) But, praise Jesus for protecting the Chair of Peter! It is like a portal to the Divine left by our loving Savior to safeguard His Bride, the Church.
I hope we see it coming too. But we are in a difficult position. The virtue of piety demands we honor the Holy Father as we would our own father. That doesn't mean we approve of what he is doing but we must honor and respect him.
I remember hearing a YouTube video of a priest talking about Fatima. When he talks of the end times he says “the people who will be deceived want to be deceived.” It’s easy for us to see the people that follow the Father Martin types and see them in that quote but I also think it can apply to those of us interested in prophecy. We all see the world getting crazier by the minute and hear the same things about food shortages, riots, and violence. However I think all of these things can also make us want certain prophecies to be true. I’ve read and watched the Father M retreat on countdown. His timeline makes it sounds like things are going start to get bad but we won’t have to suffer very long until the warning and then we’ll be safely lead away to refuges. We’ll get to miss all the really bad stuff! It’s a very appealing prophecy and I can understand why people were being pulled into it. I was myself for a while. However the whole thing has turned into a dumpster fire... the bishops approval was a lie, the website slanders the bishop, 2 theologians highlight problems in the messages, and finally 2 local bishops give a final negative judgment on Father M’s messages. (“It is forbidden, as well as sinful, to propagate private revelations which have received a negative judgment from the local bishop, the conference of bishops, or the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.” https://www.catholicculture.org/culture/library/view.cfm?recnum=6602 )
Pedro – Great Division in God’s House Our Lady Queen of Peace to Pedro Regis on October 4, 2020: Dear children, imitate My Son Jesus in loving and defending the truth. You are heading for a future of great division and confusion in the House of God. Stay with Jesus. Whatever happens, stand firm on the path that I have pointed out to you. Be attentive. Separate yourselves from everything worldly and serve the Lord faithfully. In God there is no half-truth. My Jesus taught you that the way to Heaven passes through the cross. Do not be discouraged. Finally, the Victory of God will come for the just. Pray. Pray. Pray. Only by the power of prayer can you bear the weight of the trials to come. Courage. I am your Mother and I have come from Heaven to help you. Onward in defense of the truth. This is the message that I give you today in the name of the Most Holy Trinity. Thank you for having allowed Me to gather you here once more. I bless you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Be at peace. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Another one!! On closer inspection of the opinions of Fr. Dermine with respect to the general question of contemporary private revelation, it quickly becomes apparent that he has a theological a priori against any prophecy (such as the writings of Fr. Stefano Gobbi) and considers the coming of an Era of Peace a heretical view.
So true! It is a difficult position. Like someone said earlier, I find myself stuck in a hard spot because I consider myself a true Catholic that does honor the chair of Peter. It wasn't till I really began reading revelations from prophesy and such that I began wondering if the Pope could ever fall. This may be a bit unrelated but I was wondering about Satan and all this prophesy being written on the internet. Is it possible for Satan to take the form of let's say our Blessed Mother, and to foretell events to a mystic or seer? In other words, can the devil give us false prophesy? I was pondering this evening. Then I read your post and thought that maybe the devil wants us to question our pope. But then again, how do we explain the Fr. James Martin's of the church? So many questions, never know where to start! Blessings and thanksgiving for the Mother of God forums!
Wes, when the Church judges private revelations, one of the reasons for condemnation is that the event is demonic. So yes, the devil can be involved.
This website is a great resource for learning more about private revelations and is written by a very knowledgeable priest. It answers your questions and more. Thankfully for us, it is up to the church to determine what is good and what is not. https://www.catholicculture.org/culture/library/view.cfm?recnum=6602
I had to correct my father recently with strong words said in charity. It wasn't easy but it had to be done. Someone needs to do the same with this Pope on a one to one. Someone who is holy and who calls a spade a spade. I suspect he would not be open to correction.
