Is Trump really pro life, or is he just pandering for votes?

No, it is not. Especially if the president full the Supreme Court pick before the end of the year as promised. And I’m not voting against Trump. There is a difference whether you see it or not.

I 100% agree with this. I don't have anything against your convictions FRODO about not voting for the lessor of two evils. I ONCE BELIEVED LIKE YOU. Remember I said I would have loved Ron Paul as President. Again, I would in a heartbeat vote for the 3rd candidate if they had a chance. The problem is VOTING itself in conjunction with society.

How did we get here? How is it possible that every election cycle we get these rotten choices. I think the very nature of democracy lies at the heart of it. I'm not saying we do away with it...again, I'm trying to get to the root of how we got here and propose solutions.

I have heard this saying, and I believe Murray Rothbard coined it. I find it to be absolute truth. I'm going to paraphrase here: "All politicians are either LIARS, STUPID, or NAIVE. In either of those cases, they can't be trusted."

    1) They are liars for knowing that the promises they make cannot be met, because they know that once in power they can't single handily turn the country in the direction they want. So they dupe the masses into believing their lies, knowing full well they will not have the power nor willingness of others to complete said promises.

    2) They are stupid, dumb, or naive enough to think that they CAN single handily change the direction once in power...in a sea of other political promises by other like minded, liars, stupid, dumb or naive politicians.

So now we have the corrupt politician named above that's in a system called voting...where he has to BE EITHER a LIAR, DUMB, STUPID or NAIVE in order to get into power. And those that climb the HIGHEST ECHELON of power are the ELITES in the qualities that I mentioned.

You see...VOTING...will thus never YIELD the high minded, the truthful, the righteous, the virtuous individual WE think will be borne about through this CORRUPT system.

So what is left for us to do? Well...we have 3 choices:
    a) Do nothing, DON'T participate in the system that will yield the less of two evils.
    b) Vote for the least STUPID, LYING, DUMB OR NAIVE politician available.
    c) Vote for the more STUPID, LYING, DUMB OR NAIVE politician available.

Please don't kill the messenger; I'm just proposing the reality of how we got here and what can we do about it REALISTICALLY moving forward. I can say unequivocally thought that doing NOTHING will not prevent others from doing SOMETHING. Which means, the person who does nothing will inevitably be just a boat in a storm of EVIL doers. Finally, the continued doing nothing approach will NEVER get results sought for. Voting for the least monster will again...not STOP evil, I'm not making that claim...but at the very least SLOWING it down or helping to minimize it. I'm not guaranteeing that, because there is a possibility my STUPID, LYING, DUMB, OR NAIVE candidate may lose the elections, but at least I gave it a good go.

    ***One last remark***
I don't think voting for the lessor of two evils makes you complicit for the other EVILS that will certainly occur under this corrupt system. Remember, you're doing the BEST in light of what's been given to you. Voting for Trump doesn't mean I support LMNOP issues...GOD knows what's in my heart...I'm voting to minimize the suffering for those that have had no voice for 47 years in my eyes, THEY are priority NOW...and those that may not have a voice if Biden is elected. May God have mercy on me for my decision...I'm doing the BEST I can with what's presented to me.

I definitely will not kill the messenger. Like I said before, we are all on the same side here.

Well you may be right that not voting for Trump does nothing. But in my view the not voting for a horrible candidate is the last card I have to improve things. It's obvious that the party sees people like me (see TM quoting percentages is a give away that they have internal poll numbers).

I'm not going to judge anyone for voting for Trump out of concern for the unborn. I think there is a case to be made that justifies that choice. I just can't continue to walk down this path (which I think there is also a case for that choice as well).

    Peace my friend.

I agree. We all want the same thing...it's just different perspectives on how to get there.

    Frodo,

I congratulate you on following your conscience. Go for it!

When I stand before God at my personal judgment, Jesus will look at my choices, the intent of my choices, and the consequences thereof. I will witness it all. Praise God for the sins that have been washed in the Blood of the Lamb! When considering the sins of our nation, I feel that the holocaust of the unborn is the most grievous sin of any age, not only because of the millions upon millions that have died, but because of the many tens of millions that will not be born of the ones who were aborted in the first place. The generational impact is agonizingly mind-blowing! It is also why I think that we are in the days when a God-given Peace through Our Lady will come, that this generational carnage will end!

The sins I commit wrongly impact those around me because of bad example. My bad example has affected persons within my own family and also outside; may our Merciful Lord go gentle on me! But the impact of abortion is so immense and so generational, that Trump, as imperfect as he is, has chosen "the better half" when picking a platform on which to reach and maintain his presidential office. For this, I believe God in His permissive Will allowed Trump to succeed. At least he acted upon his pledge, unlike those who went before, who chose to throw us crumbs to keep us in line.

However, there is no person, no party, no platform in this life that will come close to mirroring God's Will fully. It has never been so. Thus, each of us must choose as we prayerfully discern.

Hebrews 9: But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment, 28 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

    Come Lord Jesus! Maranatha!

Food for thought for anyone considering a vote for Biden. We've been through this before when Kerry ran as well.

Hello all-I haven’t posted in awhile due to illness, but wanted to share with you that I was finally able to vote. I don’t mean to resurrect an old issue, but I wanted to share because so many of you shaped my thinking in different ways. In the end, I cast my ballot for Trump. Truthfully, it’s not been my favorite vote ever cast, but with everything happening with our Supreme Court, it’s made me see that perhaps I (and the rest of America) may be putting too much emphasis on the office of the presidency and not enough on other elected officials who actually propose or write laws and the judges who interpret them. The nomination of Amy Coney Barrett is hopefully a turning point for many issues facing our country and hopefully there will be more judges like her appointed. While we have no say in that, at least I was able to cast a vote for the person who nominated her and will hopefully nominate others like her. It was a difficult choice, but it seems we live in difficult times. I live in New York, though, so my vote hardly counts for anything :)

Good for you Annie, I am happy to hear you decided to vote for Trump. I did early voting today too, and I also cast my vote for Donald J. Trump. I am from liberal Massachusetts where Biden will surely win. We voted for the pro-life candidate, and this is what matters to God. I hope you are feeling better.

Like you, JoM, our presidential vote is useless because we live in NYS, but there are certainly other races that are important, too! But Geralyn and I love to go to the polls and hub nob with friends there!

    God spare the USA!

We’ve been trying to unseat Steny Hoyer for years: Pelosi buddy. A good Catholic man is running against him this time. Maybe not a snowball’s chance but voting for the underdog anyway.
