Yes, I noticed the similarity of GC's August 18 message with Fr. Rodrique, "My children, I ask you to make reserves of food for at least three months. "
The possibility of civil unrest surrounding the U.S. election has been on all of our minds. I guess we'll know soon enough about these messages, just keep on praying.

Yes even St Catherine of Sienna was fooled with a false apparition where "Mary" claimed not to have been immaculately conceived. That and other such cases are noted in The Compendium of the Miraculous published by TAN books.

Your prayers must have helped he is back down to the pub. I got him several masks from the hospital and he seems as happy as ever.

People who live alone can get very, very lonely so I sympathise with this. But going to mass on Sunday at least would be good. I don't mean to be harsh on the dear man though.

    But I do worry.

My children, thank you for being here in prayer. My children, division is taking place, apostasy is taking place and you, too, are against one another; always have faith—it is only with faith that everything can be overcome. My children, because of its rulers, America will suffer many losses. Pray, pray for the Church, because the drums are playing a death-roll. War is very close. But do not fear, children, I am here to protect you. Now I leave you with my blessing in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

“If (Mary) were not with us,” Fiore said, “I would feel really not only abandoned but really scared because of what is happening now.”

A woman who identified herself as a hermit named Sister Patrizia said she learned of the apparitions to Cardia while suffering an illness in her Tuscan hermitage.

“I discovered that truly in these latter times the Mother of God comes to us personally,” she said Aug. 3 in Trevignano Romano. “The Mother of God and the Lord speak and prepare us for extraordinary events.”

Gisella Cardia said Mary has revealed to her that the COVID-19 pandemic will flare up strongly in the fall, that the current low rates of infection in Italy are a “momentary illusion” and that “everything will come back worse than before; it’s just a pause.”

Asked about that prediction, Bishop Rossi said: “One would have a 50% chance of guessing correctly.”

Maybe it is my imagination but there seems to be an awful lot more ambulances around my hospital at nights ( the biggest hospital in Western Europe). I passed four parked up with full crews working the other night outside.

Sometimes I get the feeling we not being told everything.

    Unpresudential
So what makes President Trump "un presidential"? A President who stands up for the unborn and Christians? So was Obama "presidential when he stood up for abortion and un natural unions and what about all the suffering and untold suffering the previous Prisidents caused with their wars are they presidential? Thank god President Trump doesn't" shut his mouth" and speaks up for the unborn and christians and anyway who are you to judge his actions. I'm assuming you are from Ireland the country that voted to remove "The right to life of the unborn" the first nation to vote remove another person's right to life. Shame on Ireland and all the clergy who did shut their mouths and not speak out against evil. Instead of critising President Trump you should be praying for him. You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. (Matthew 7:3-5). Wake up Irishguy 2

Regarding being unpresidential, the man does not know when to keep his mouth shut. In spite of what he has done, his image would be much different if he refrained from so many nonsensical comments. That's my personal opinion.

Don't be too harsh on irishguy. He doesn't care for Trump but he doesn't seem to care for the other guy either (Biden). Trump sometimes is his own worse enemy. His mouth does run away with him sometimes. Although, given how absolutely deplorably he is treated by the media, can we really blame him? Obama was polished. The man can read a teleprompter. Obama's polished self almost ended the Republic of the US. Trump is not polished, he isn't a politician who has a handler telling him how to speak, to sound nice. He is who he is. Trump's strength is he says something and it happens. First president in my life to keep his campaign promises and first real pro-life president in my life. He just isn't polished.

"Newt Gingrich: Kamala Harris is an anti-Catholic bigot
This says a lot about the strength of Biden's Catholic background under pressure from the anti-religious left
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s choice as his vice presidential running mate — Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif.— is the most openly anti-Catholic bigot to be on a national ticket in modern times.

Harris’ record is perfectly clear. She is openly anti-Catholic in confirming federal judges, wanting to prosecute the Little Sisters of the Poor, closing Catholic Hospitals that don’t join her union allies, and favoring taxpayer-paid abortions up until birth (in fact, she has twice voted against bills that would ensure that babies who lived through abortion procedures get medical care).

In many ways, Harris’ bigotry against Catholics is a perfect example of the modern radical left’s ideology of “intolerant tolerance”...

CATHOLIC LEADER ACCUSES KAMALA HARRIS OF BEING ‘RINGLEADER OF ANTI-CATHOLIC BULLYING’ IN DEMOCRATIC PARTY

The most explicit example of Harris’ anti-Catholic bigotry was her treatment of now-U.S. District Judge Brian Buescher during his Senate confirmation hearing.

Specifically, Harris questioned Buescher’s membership in the Knights of Columbus — a faith-based charitable organization that feeds the poor, assists in disaster relief around the globe, provides scholarships for struggling students, helps refugees fleeing violence and persecution, and carries out a host of other philanthropic efforts.
Because the organization is Catholic, its leadership has opposed abortion and gay marriage on religious grounds. Harris needled Buescher on these two issues and insinuated that his membership in the organization (and ultimately his Catholic faith) should bar him from the bench. ***

Harris was eerily mirroring the bigoted questioning by Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., of now-7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Amy Coney Barrett during her confirmation hearing in 2017.

As Alexandra DeSanctis wrote for the National Review: “Buescher eventually was confirmed ... but the fact remains that Harris was guilty of reprehensible anti-Catholic bigotry, and there’s no reason to believe her views have changed.”

At the time, The Wall Street Journal raised a key question: “Ms. Harris’s embrace of religious intolerance is especially significant because in two years she could be the next U.S. President. What does it say about today’s Democrats that no one in the party of Al Smith and JFK sees fit to rebuke her?”
The U.S. Supreme Court has already affirmed the Little Sisters’ First Amendment rights, yet the Biden-Harris team wants to relitigate the case.

Furthermore, as attorney general of California, Harris used her office’s power to close a number of Catholic hospitals on behalf of her political ally, the Service Employee International Union.

Six Catholic Daughters of Charity-run hospitals in California were driven to insolvency by onerous union contracts and sparse Medicaid payments. A larger health care system had bid to buy the hospitals and assume its liabilities. However, the SEIU opposed the deal because it wanted an agreement to be able to organize workers in every one of the buyer’s 15 other hospitals as part of the sale of the six Catholic hospitals.

In California, the attorney general has the power to OK or nix acquisitions of nonprofit hospitals. Attorney General Harris was happy to put six hospitals out of business for her union allies.

Harris added a multitude of unprecedented staffing requirements and specific medical service requirements to the sale. Naturally, her malicious meddling killed the sale, leaving thousands of employees out of work and potentially millions of residents without nearby hospitals.

As The Wall Street Journal editorial board warned: “Hospital workers, patients and taxpayers paid a fearsome price for Ms. Harris’s intervention on behalf of the SEIU. As troubling was Ms. Harris’s use of her authority to help a political supporter and punish a business she didn’t like. She was in the vanguard of the new progressive state AGs who use prosecutorial power against opponents. Watch for this in the Harris Administration.”

Harris is also part of a larger trend of anti-Catholic bigotry raging across the country...

As the Catholic News Agency reported: “In recent weeks, several Catholic churches have faced attacks and acts [of] desecration. Last month, church in Ocala, Florida was set aflame while parishioners inside prepared for morning Mass. A California mission founded by St. Junipero Serra was also burned in a fire and is being investigated as an arson case, while several statues of Serra have also been pulled down. A statue of the Virgin Mary was beheaded at a parish in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In Boston, a statue of Mary was set on fire, and in Brooklyn, a statue was tagged with the word 'IDOL' in black spray paint.”

see also: https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/kamala-harriss-anti-catholic-bigotry/ (as well as dozens of other articles regarding Biden and Harris' opposition to Catholic doctrine):

After Pope Francis declared gay marriage to be diabolical, Biden said he has no regrets over being the presiding official at a gay wedding.

Though Pope Francis said abortion is like hiring a "hit man", Biden affirmed his belief in abortion up to the day of birth (provided at least a part of the fetus was still in the womb, such as perhaps a limb.)

Moreover, Biden's Bishop suggested that Biden may wish to abstain from taking communion but Biden has ignored that suggestion.

When this Gisela (a "visionary" unheard of until recently) talks about "bad American rulers", perhaps these are the folks that she is referring to, including a Supreme Court that refused to reverse California's decision to close all churches while allowing thousands of businesses to remain open.

Well said re Trump. I get the feeling that Biden and trump might withdraw from the presidency. I don't know just a niggling feeling although I'm not an American though. Who is Trump's running mate just wondering?? Is it still Pence?? Or new running mate later?

Yes Obama looked polished cos he used to be a law professor with eloquent words capable of making a grand speech. It's his actions not words that determines himself.

There was a nun who addressed the DMC and was asked a question about supporting a Party which backed the mass killing of the unborn . She said that such issues , 'Are above my pay grade!' That struck me as such a strange thing to say. What does it even mean? Weird, weird, weird. Spooky too.

    https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/...ayers-at-democratic-national-convention-27998

Legal abortion 'above my pay grade,' says religious sister who will pray at DNC

Sister Simone Campbell, who is set to offer a prayer at the Democratic National Convention Thursday, has declined to take a stand on the morality of abortion protections, and a CNA examination finds donors to her organization, Network Lobby, have links to pro-abortion rights advocacy.

Asked Aug. 19 whether her organization opposes the legal protection of abortion, Campbell told CNA, “That is not our issue. That is not it. It is above my pay grade.”

“It’s not the issue that we work on. I’m a lawyer. I would have to study it more intensely than I have,” Campbell added.

Campbell, 74, is a member and past general director of the Sisters of Social Service, a Catholic religious community. She is the executive director of the Network Lobby for Catholic Social Justice, and received her law degree from the University of California-Davis School of Law in 1977.

During a 2016 interview with Democracy Now, Campbell said more directly that “From my perspective, I don’t think it’s a good policy to outlaw abortion.”

“Our agenda is the economic justice issues,” she told CNA this week. “As the issues of economic justice mean, as Pope Francis talks about so often, the capacity for families to be able to support themselves, to be able to have a roof on their head. A radical thought is that they ought to be able to earn enough from one job to both have time for leisure for a family together as well the capacity to save for the future.”

Campbell is scheduled to deliver the invocation Thursday at the Democratic National Convention. The convention’s announcement cited her group's work on economic justice, health care, immigration reform, and voter turnout as well as its “Nuns on the Bus” tour.

The Associated Press describes Campbell as a longtime political ally of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. Biden, a Catholic, has distanced himself from past support for some restrictions on abortion. He has said he will back legal abortion and funding for abortion providers, as well as regulations requiring Catholic employers like the Little Sisters of the Poor to pay for contraception in employee health plans.

The economic agenda of Network Lobby, Campbell told CNA, is “more aligned with Democratic platforms” but the group considers itself “an equal opportunity annoyer” that lobbies members of both political parties.

“We don’t focus on reproductive rights, we focus on trying to ensure life for everyone. As Pope Francis says ‘equally sacred is the care for the born’,” Campbell said.

Campbell was partially quoting Pope Francis’ 2018 apostolic exhortation Gaudete et Exsultate in which the pope stated “Our defense of the innocent unborn, for example, needs to be clear, firm and passionate, for at stake is the dignity of a human life, which is always sacred and demands love for each person, regardless of his or her stage of development.”

The pope added that the lives of the poor, the destitute, the abandoned, the infirm, the elderly, and others are “equally sacred.”

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that “the right to life of every innocent human individual is a constitutive element of a civil society and its legislation.”

Campbell said it is not Network Lobby’s mission to be “in the fight for Roe v. Wade,” the Supreme Court decision that mandated legal abortion nationwide. While she agreed that the dignity of life is inviolable from conception, she added “I’m so tired. How long have we fought over Roe v. Wade?”

“Our economic agenda is to ensure that everyone can flourish, that all life can flourish, and that we can care for our earth,” she said. “Our niche is economic justice.”

Campbell rejected any suggestion her approach might undermine efforts to secure legal protections for the unborn.

“We work for the Pregnant Women Support Act, funding for prenatal care, women’s infants and children funding, making sure pregnant women get the care that they need,” she said. She said there is crossover in ensuring health care for pregnant women, adequate nutrition, and adequate housing capacity “to carry the fetus to term.”

Asked whether her group works with the Democrats for Life of America, Campbell replied: “No. They’re not working on our economic agenda.”

When CNA noted that Democrats for Life has worked on shared issues like paid family leave, she added “But they're not part of the coalitions we work on. They’re not a lobby, they’re a policy group,” she said.

On Monday Kristen Day, Democrats for Life executive director, said that for the first time at a Democratic National Convention, the pro-life caucus has not been officially recognized at the 2020 convention.

Asked whether her approach might interfere with right-to-life efforts, Campbell was skeptical.

“I don’t believe we have that much power,” she said. “We are a small operation.”
