Julia ....Yup!!! found myself getting sucked in and drawn down into the dark hole of bitter debate.... so I pulled out. The devil is definitely working on us here at MOG! I could almost feel his presence! Whew... I barely slipped past him this time!!!!;)

Fr. Heilman... Truly a hard working servant of God!!! I am indeed an very proud member of his Grace Force!!
Mary said (I think at Medjugorje )of her priests ....they will be the bridge that will bring us to the new era of peace. He is one of those bridges!

Of course the devil will attack this. He has his finger in every pie, I have noticed in recent years. Moreover, he attacks hardest any good work and most fiercely those on the path to Calvary and under Our Lady's mantle.

Also some of his strongholds (false prophets) are being exposed here. I'd be more concerned if he weren't prowling about.

I agree with you on this. That is why I stopped replying to the naysayers on this thread. I will continue to bring what I believe God has made known and let those who want to hear, hear. Let those who want to spew their hatred towards God's prophets of our time, be answerable to God and not me. I am at peace.

John, I'd like to hear why you are so adamant about "false prophets". You said a personal involvement? It might be a benefit to us all?

This is slander. First, I have no hatred. None.

Second. They are not prophets. They are unapproved. This is the fallacy of petitio principii. You attack my motive and not the argument I put forward (namely their own words which are heretical).

For my part I follow the mystics of Carmel. I have read and learned much from Carmel (esp Thérèse, Theresa of Avila, and St John of the Cross) and those who explain the Doctors of Mysticism (like La Grange and Lahody, who was recommened by St Pius X). I use "Divine Intimacy" (Baronius Press) for daily prayer. Carmel is the safest path of prayer and mysticism.

If anyone knows a thread or has more, I would be grateful for the help. This is helpful for me. Fr. Most's advice is well worth meditating on. Of note is his criticism of Maria Agreda. I have heard her canonization was held up because of her writings. More and more I am coming to be skeptical of private revelation except the most tested like Fatima, Our Lady of Revelation, and the Doctors of Mysticism. I have followed and immersed myself in several seemingly approved myatics like Picarretta only to discover they were false later.

The end of prayer is union with God, not experiences or revelation of secrets God has chosen to keep hidden. Faith is without sight and we are in the final or great test of that imo

"St. John of the Cross, a Doctor of the Church and one of the greatest of mystic theologians, who had had so many special favors himself, is very severe with persons who desire to be the recipients of visions and revelations. He never wearies of repeating that the proximate means of union with God in this life is the three theological virtues of faith, hope, and love. True growth consists in intensified love, which is founded on faith and hope. Now although St. John encourages everyone to aim at infused contemplation, even though relatively few attain it, he strongly reproves anyone who desires to be the recipient of a vision or revelation. They desire to see; faith holds on without seeing...." Infused contemplation begins regularly in the 4th mansion as St. Theresa teaches.

"Since the Church herself has no providential protection in the area of private revelations, the bishop could be in error. We are not obliged to believe him, or even the Pope himself in such a case...." It happened to pope Urban VIII himself who encoded rules of discernment

"Pius IX in an Allocution of April 9, 1872 said: "I do not give much belief to prophecies, because those especially that have come recently do not deserve to be read."

It is clear to me that Rules of Discernment have been turned on its head in recent years.

In any case, accusations of hatred are unfounded. I am very harsh on self appointed public experts who flaunt bishop's orders and mock the Doctors of the Church, which Mark Mallet has done. They deserve no respect at all. They flaunt the virtues of obedience and of docility and glory in their own pride, not even hiding it. These are the most certain signs they are false prophets. And I find their honeyed words as enticing as any. No. I am not against them personally nor hate them. I wish them the best. I don't even judge them but only criticize their PUBLIC PERSONAE, which do great harm. I am warning is all.

    On true discernment:

That last post could have been written by my dear father a few years before he passed he got annoyed at me making trips to new maraian shrines.. He said son why do you chase this obsession why can't you keep it simple. If I want to see Mary I close my eyes closing his eyes he said hello Mother.. If I want to see and be close to Jesus I go to church for adoration and talk to him.. Funny son I don't see you doing that.... His last words ring true keep it simple

Since you ask and since it was on my mind, I will do so and also tone it down a few notches. But in the main, I just read Matthew 24 and Our Lord warns of false prophets. It reminds me too that Elijah faced off 400 false prophets: one true to 400 false. The thread entitled "I am done with private revelations" has struck acord with me as well.

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

I hope this does not turn into another fisticuffs.

John, I don't think Fatima was referring to you personally.

I saw a fire lit on this forum a couple of years ago figuratively speaking that drove some of us away; because there was no calming anyone down when they got their boxing gloves on. It was like watching a fire burn out of control. As close to purgatory as I ever want to get. Sigh

It feels like you want to come in with both guns blazing and if it moves shoot it, if it stands still paint it white. Chill out for the love of Larry. Peace

Id hate to see more 'bitterness" growing among these our beloved fellow members of this forum dedicated to the Mother of God:love:
So...with that frame of reference in mind, may I suggest a modus operandi for any future engagements of intellectual discourse that we might be involved in ??

You can take it or leave it just my two cents:

First of all... put your baseball bats, battering rams and sledge hammers away and simply express your opinions (for or against modern day seers )and why you feel that way.
THEN ...then be willing to accept the fact that others may not AGREE with your point of view no matter how rational your conclusion is and MOVE ON!
I think the situation gets problematic when ever one or the other side has to prove that they are right ...there for making the other wrong.

This is all done out of Christian charity of course. You're only "banging them over the head "with your point of view for their own good you see!!!:D

There you go ahead. Making unjustified claims. So mean spirit without any cause. Mark Mallet has a world wide following. So disgraceful to to discredit a kind man with so much knowledge to share.

  17. I'm putting this out here right now. I’ve learned quickly as a new member how to be protective. I’ve been “bludgeoned” with names, which I don’t take lightly to as I’m originally from the city and we learn quickly how to stand up for ourselves. (Maybe it’s for humility. I’m willing to accept that.) But no one’s unacceptable manner of communication should keep truth as one sees it from being stated. Therefore, under the sword of Saint Michael, I will continue to call a spade what I believe to be a spade. And I will do this for my Lord Jesus Christ and his holy Blessed Mother and not to prove somebody wrong just for the heck of it. That’s not Christian. In fact, I just read a really good statement the other day about vengeance. I’ll try to find it and post it here. Peace!

Yes, to quote you, " no one's unacceptable manner of communication should keep truth as one sees it from being stated."
I agree. People have told me a couple of times to leave a thread, of all things, and have accused me of attacking them, simply because I disagreed with them or with what they had posted.
    (no apology was offered)

Really, I am just tired of seeing posts claiming lately that Vassula is in this or behind that. That's like division evil demon spirits getting into providing false info and creating divisions and war among faithful Catholics. I do not like nor do I believe in seer Vassula. This is just ridiculous and do stop with "searching" for Vassula. There's so many inconsistencies or lies out there. That's just my own observation and humble opinion. I will not respond to any arguments otherwise to this. Thank you and God bless. O, Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee! Amen. St. Michael, the archangel, pray for us!
