God bless you for posting this response from O'Connor to Miravalle's article on Fr Rodrigue. I had read Dr Miravalle's article in Spirit Daily and found it to be unreasonable in many aspects. It seemed biased to me, prejudging. And it was very encouraging to have someone well informed and articulate to respond, highlighting much of what I found unreasonable in Miravalle's opinions. I remember a few years ago Dr Miravalle who supported Anne, a lay apostle seemed to shun her after Sister Bridge McKenna and the Priest RIP who worked with Sister Bridge after also supporting Anne a lay apostle, then came out and told the world for all intent and purpose they believed Anne was not genuine. They made their views public in spite of Anne's Bishop who supported her, gave her a Spiritual Director and still supports her to this day. Meanwhile all those who had no time for Anne would not want to hear of her messages, and God help anyone who defended her and Christ the returning King. Famous Catholics who have a big influence should be much more careful when they try to pronounce judgement on anyone who is trying to share the Faith at a time when many are losing their Faith. Dr Miravalle is well known, and respected. He promotes the Fifth Marian Dogma, and has You Tube videos you can watch. I do have a lot of time for him; but on this one relating to Fr. Rodrigue I am disappointed he should decide to throw his weight behind a smear on Fr. Rodrigue. I still respect Dr Miravalle. As regards Fr Rodrigue, I reserve the right to hold on to the good old Catholic practises he preaches, and wait to see if what he has claimed comes to pass. God bless him and all who come forward in the name of Jesus Christ and His Gospels. No one can take that away from me. Viva Christo Ray
According to the Hudson Valley Community College website, and LinkedIn, he is currently an adjunct. Also, according to LinkedIn, he does not yet have a PhD. He is a grad student at SUNY Albany (State University of New York). In the U.S., an adjunct professor, also known as an adjunct lecturer or adjunct instructor (collectively, adjunct faculty), is a professor who teaches on a limited-term contract, often for one semester at a time, and who is ineligible for tenure. The "professor" part is a courtesy title, in this context of a community college. It's equivalent of a contract employee. A "professor" in a university setting is reserved for someone on the highest tier of tenure track.
I suspect Dr. Miravalle wrote a short review after getting the book with a plea from the authors. He wrote a short blurb (with a different slant than appeared, allegedly). Then, he heard about the claims Fr. Rodrigue was making. When he looked into it, he was properly shocked. He issued the detailed critique and sent it out without restrictions to get himself on record warning against Fr. Rodrigue. And make no mistake, Dr. Miravalle has issued a clear warning.
Unless one lives among the world of academia one may use a title of Professor w/o distinguishing between adjunct and full as one would commonly do in introducing such a person/friend to another....unless the other asks for a further distinction. I've seen the lack of that distinction here as well w/ the accusers.....failing to use the term "full" professor with their own attempts to accuse others who they say left out info. And those w/o that kind of experience would not distinguish and just introduce a friend who is still actually a professor as just that to keep it simple. What a rabbit hole this has become. When one has to resort to this stuff means that they don't have enough info to actually speak to the facts that have been presented re: the criticism given about Fr. Michel. And, no, I believe that Daniel remains a doctoral student or candidate for a doctorate which does distinguish his position nonetheless. So any accusations of deception don't amount to much except to reveal what people will resort to when attempting to lessen the stature of one they know is an honest and caring individual whose arguments are actually more succinct than the one offering the still much to be desired criticisms from afar.
This is worth noting from Daniel Oconnor's web site: I would also like to note that Christine Watkins’ book, The Warning: Testimonies and Prophecies of the Illumination of Conscience — containing within its pages many of Fr. Michel’s prophetic messages (including some of those which Miravalle considers problematic) — now bears the Imprimatur of the Church, and will soon be published with this support.
Ooh! Scary! Now he just needs to write an addendum to correct some of his more "uneducated" headline points!
Yes I have heard that in the US that a Post PhD grad, who lectures can be afforded the courtesy title of adjunct professor, but in Australia it is different. Even though my son is a Doctor of Science and has lectured Post Doctorate at universities in Australia, he is not given the honorary title of Professor, that comes after years of teaching. The fact that Mr O'Connor has not even obtained a PhD is very concerning, as it is deception. Let us pray that Mr O'Connor correct this deception and also pray for all those who are associated with the CDTTK site. Divine Mercy of Jesus I trust in Thee.
As I previously stated in my former post, to say one has a PhD and they don't that is a deception and I would be very upset with my son if he were to deceive like Mr O'Connor is doing. My previous post # 1300 Thank you Christy, If Mr O'Connor has not yet obtained a PhD and has only a Masters in Theology and a doctoral candidate in Philosophy? (what ever that is) , then to state that he is a Professor of Philosophy is a deception! And yes God does judge us on our heart. Our heart is either pure or deceptive. My eldest son is a Doctor, he spent over 4 years obtaining his PhD in science and he worked so hard with all his experiments and research, at times he had to sleep in the lab, as the cell cultures demanded second hourly work. Of course his PhD was post his degree in science and post his Masters of science. My son is researching a cure for Alzheimer and has had very good success, (his work is with adult stem cells) it involves taking skin tissue and isolating the stem cells which he then induces to become neural cells, with both axons and dendrites, his work is at the leading university in Sydney, he was invited to speak in Germany last year where he gave a talk to leading scientist of the world, he tells me now (after his initial success, with his work) he has been offered a post Doc at another university to further his research. He has been giving lectures to university students for years even when he was studying for his PhD, he is not a professor, but I'm sure he hopes to be one day. If my son were to be deceptive about being a professor, that would injure my heart and also show me that my son's heart would be in dire need of confession. Maybe Mr O'Connor's CV has not been updated yet? Let us hope Mr O'Connor is not being deceptive.
Dear Heavenly Host, I never implied that she had done anything wrong. I did not reply to Christie in my post. All I did was to respond to Byron's post.
Well, congratulations to you and your son. But that particular info doesn't take away from a position as an adjunct professor. Should one continue to introduce himself in general as "adjunct professor" which isn't often done. I haven't found that on his own website....only the term "professor" used on the CTTK site and that general blip may have been offered by Mark Mallett.... which then wouldn't be considered as "deceptive" except maybe to those who live in the world of academia and only advanced education. Educators in general always like to, well, "educate" people! The world in general wouldn't be all that concerned.
I find these arguments about the CV status of O'Connor strange. Is he not allowed to point out discrepancies in Miravalles opinions, just because he is deemed inferior by his qualifications. O'Connor raises valid objections to Miravalle, and quotes sources in support of his objections. Intellectual snobbery is disgusting. No wonder God sends Blessed Mother to little shepherd children when He wants to make His Will known.
So what does the Church really teach if demons are in Purgatory? This is something new to me. Is this heresy or not?
(edited) How can Mr O'Connor be a professor or an adjunct professor for that matter.......... when he has not even received a PhD? You can keep your sarcastic congratulations and continue to follow those that deceive. But I for my part follow the Lord who is not deceptive. Praise Be His Holy Name. I feel sorry for all the true hard working PhD recipients, when other wannabes, who have not obtained a PhD, have the hide to proclaim they are also post doctorates, this is great deception!
A PhD candidate is a person who is working on obtaining their PhD. They are in the process of the work. I just came into the discussion of the titles given. I think a PhD candidate has completed all of the work for the doctorate but has not finished the dissertation. Correct me if I am wrong.
Maybe this can help There is in Purgatory, as in Hell, a double pain – the pain of loss and the pain of sense. The pain of loss consists in being deprived for a time of the sight of God, who is the Supreme Good, the beatific end for which our souls are made, as our eyes are for the light. It is a moral thirst which torments the soul. The pain of sense, or sensible suffering, is the same as what we experience in our flesh. Its nature is not defined by faith, but it is the common opinion of the Doctors that it consists in fire and other species of suffering. The fire of Purgatory, say the Fathers, is that of Hell, of which the rich glutton speaks, Quia crucior in hac flamma, “I suffer,” he says, “cruelly in these flames.” –From Chapter IX of Purgatory: Explained by the Lives and Legends of the Saints by Rev. Fr. F.X. Schouppe, S.J.
