So sad. Today I read the program for government. It is shocking. They have agreed a program for facilitating transgenderism etc. Legislation for perceived hate speech. Politicians have sold their souls for power. The Irish Church is completely silent. The bishops failed to defend marriage and were very weak in their defence of the unborn. They will reap what they have sown when they are targeted by the powers that be for 'hate speech'.
I feel like despairing but I know God has not abandoned us.

Yes, the hate speech laws they are proposing have a subjective test, that is based on what the person perceives rather than what the other person actually says, as far as I know. It could even be a third party that brings the complaint. It is also interesting how they recently removed the provision against blasphemy in the Constitution yet now propose hate - speech legislation. They are slowly undermining the morale of the Irish people, it appears. We seem to be more of a collectivist country/society now than a democratic one. Our leaders use democratic language yet it is authoritarian rule. Very difficult to see through the web of deceit which has been sown in this country. As a friend of mine observed "Satan has blinded alot of people at the moment."

We are inundated with lies from the media and other sources on a daily basis. It can be difficult to see through it.

I don't read papers cos it's Irish govt mouthpiece for the sake of American readers here. I don't buy then just browse online. Irish govt new administration won't last long as its historic coalition re clear left v right divide political.

Ireland will return faith in hundred years time or more. Now is not the time as its purification and purging at the same time. Lockdown enabled to reduce the effects of reiki, other healing new age sessions which wasn't possible.

Found out one new Bishop recently whose cousin was ledwith ex maynooth seminary president. Ledwith now involved in New agey things in CA, USA as he's stripped of priestly status.

Most of the bishops here are gone including 3 ' supposed gay' bishops. Govt overruled them re opening of masses limit of nos. Their power and influence are gone really as nobody would listen to them anymore.

Ireland would return to their roots when time is right but now is not the time.

Well the acceleration in ireland had been quite noticeable in the last 10 years but more pronounced in last 5 years. It took some 50 years to get that acceleration effect but in other Catholic countries it was a lot faster say 10 to 20 years compared to Ireland. I could predict maybe in another 25 years or more, Ireland would become another Netherlands, Belgium et al.

But the spirit and faith still strong in some isolated packets in rural Ireland.

I'm holding out for the Garabandal prophecies and the Medjugorje secrets to begin unfolding. Pray God will shorten the time because there won't be soul left if we have to wait another 25 years.

The counter-motto to "spiritual not religious" is "I'm religious, but not spiritual". Guaranteed to bewilder them.

I heard this 'achievement' announced on the radio yesterday, but thought my ears might have deceived me. I am old enough now to dismiss coincidence. Apart from anything else, one must have respect for the laws of probability.

May the Lord God have mercy on us all.

The 'woke' proposals for government, described in some of the comments, are very ominous. I expect widespread censorship of Catholic and general Christian beliefs in the near future. Even sites like this will either disappear or be forced underground, if there will remain any mechanism for this. Time to read Solzhenitsyn.

Personally going to try avoiding media from now on, especially independent.ie, journal.ie as anytime I hear about a story or read something it is like another spiritual attack. I don't read newspapers but go on to the independent website quite alot, probably out of morbid curiosity more than anything else.

I stay away from "state" media. Period. It's like Josef Goebbels propaganda machine 24/7. I think it is toxic.

Very sad that my local cathedral has decided not to put on masses for people until the next stage of the lockdown. Instead of offering more masses. The Cathedral has two relatively young priests and a quite able arch bishop.

    Very sad and disappointing.
