Wow!! How blessed you are in having Such a wise daughter. I just finished listening to Professor Jordan Petersen talking and he was saying the exact same thing. Perhaps you have a genius in the family? Anyway Jordan Petersen is certainly a genius, I love listening to him, it is like listening to music. Prayers he becomes a Catholic some day. He reminds me of what Jesus said to Nicodemus, 'You are not far from the Kingdom of Heaven!'
I really try hard to genuflect properly in Church. If the Blessed Sacrament is Exposed I make a big, big, big effort to go down on both knees hard and stay there for a while. This is not as easy as it once was , but I do try hard. Not just for God but for anyone watching, I wish so much to give an example. People so much to be reminded that this, really really is God we are dealing with here. This really, really, really is GOD. Plus my Guardian Angel has a very bad temper, like myself inclined to shout and would soon let me know it I messed up on this. I think he may very well be Irish.
To quote Yeats' prophetic poem "the best lack all conviction the worst are full of passionate intensity. "
There is a Spanish saying about certain people's private parts falling off. Candace seems to be able to steam ahead though. A new Favourite.
Thank God I have arthritis in both knees and I don’t have to think fast and possibly make the wrong choice Good post Julia
Yes, Julia I feel the same way. I am repulsed to see photos of police, politicians, celebrities, and even military bending their knees. Apparently idolatry has now been added to the sickening and ever growing list of politically correct behavior. I am also repulsed by the emails I have been receiving from businesses who have not wasted a moment to announce that they stand with the knee benders. UGH. There was a BLM protest in our area last Sunday, and the obscenities on the signs they were holding was disgusting. There were also many young children among the protesters. Now they are knocking the heads off of statues, and reaching back into history to use men who are dead and buried as a reason to justify their hatred. Sorry for venting, but I find it all incredibly disturbing.
Yeah. And if that occurs here in the USA, then I have to think of my best friend since age 4 ... who was adopted from South Korea. Why should Bobbi, of all people, be harassed, pressured, obligated to bow her knee or likewise to BLM in any regard?? And her adoptive (White) father was our hometown's Chief of Police. Bobbi is very active on social media, defending and upholding the police. It's disturbing to think she might eventually be threatened with termination of employment.
I don't think she is at genius level but she is smart. And she has a very strong faith. I just think she is on the internet and is able to discern bs.....and there is a lot of bs now
Thanks Julia for the knowledge. That taking the knee from the start looked and seemed wrong. Talking yesterday to my liberal son (who lives in NYC) about Floyd, he for the first time as an adult, hung up on me! One thing I shared with him, far more than racism it is the lack of African American fathers in the home.
MM recently posted this on his blog but it's so good it should be shared. Former Cop Brandon Tatum Delivers INCREDIBLE Response To The Current Situation!
I never really thought of the 'Black Lives Matter', movement as being unChristian. It just made me deeply uneasy. But this video gives room for thought.
Everyone is or wants to be seen as a victim now. Without a reliance on God people now rely on the state. It's be proven to work for so many special interest geoups. Some movements were very good and needed like women's right to vote and ending slavery. Now it seems equality isn't enough, special victim status rules the day. As we've seen once a group reaches this, they can rise above the law and above critique. In fact, with enough pressure laws are put in place to protect this special status. It's all part of the enemies plan to divide and conquer.
The devil is, in fact, the prince of this world. You have spoken well, MMM. However, Jesus told us that He has overcome the world. So much prayer and penance needed.
I had the misfortune to read the aims of Black Lives Matter this morning and was sick to the core - it is a cover for cultural marxism -- they support abortion rights, homosexual behavior, gender theory and the destruction of the nuclear family. A manifesto from satan. Black Lives matter - what we believe: Black Lives Matter began as a call to action in response to state-sanctioned violence and anti-Black racism. Our intention from the very beginning was to connect Black people from all over the world who have a shared desire for justice to act together in their communities. The impetus for that commitment was, and still is, the rampant and deliberate violence inflicted on us by the state. Through movement and relationship building, we have also helped catalyze other movements and shifted culture with an eye toward the dangerous impacts of anti-Blackness. These are the results of our collective efforts. The Black Lives Matter Global Network is as powerful as it is because of our membership, our partners, our supporters, our staff, and you. Our continued commitment to liberation for all Black people means we are continuing the work of our ancestors and fighting for our collective freedom because it is our duty. Every day, we recommit to healing ourselves and each other, and to co-creating alongside comrades, allies, and family a culture where each person feels seen, heard, and supported. We acknowledge, respect, and celebrate differences and commonalities. We work vigorously for freedom and justice for Black people and, by extension, all people. We intentionally build and nurture a beloved community that is bonded together through a beautiful struggle that is restorative, not depleting. We are unapologetically Black in our positioning. In affirming that Black Lives Matter, we need not qualify our position. To love and desire freedom and justice for ourselves is a prerequisite for wanting the same for others. We see ourselves as part of the global Black family, and we are aware of the different ways we are impacted or privileged as Black people who exist in different parts of the world. We are guided by the fact that all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status, or location. We make space for transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead. We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence. We build a space that affirms Black women and is free from sexism, misogyny, and environments in which men are centered. We practice empathy. We engage comrades with the intent to learn about and connect with their contexts. We make our spaces family-friendly and enable parents to fully participate with their children. We dismantle the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work “double shifts” so that they can mother in private even as they participate in public justice work. We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable. We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise). We cultivate an intergenerational and communal network free from ageism. We believe that all people, regardless of age, show up with the capacity to lead and learn. We embody and practice justice, liberation, and peace in our engagements with one another.
Well being a Non' American I suppose my ignorance on the matter was pardonable. I had just no idea what a monster I was dealing with. But I listened to two episodes of the Candace Owens show today and was so impressed. Wonderful teachers. What moves me is that they base their beliefs as Conservative African Americans on deeply Christian Values.
