Have you ever heard of a witchdoctor, Rosalia? It is along those lines. Apparently a shaman is supposed to "heal" you by him working through the spirit world (which is really in fact demonic). It is very far from healing or being healed, I can tell you that! On top of that it also costs a fortune. It has really grabbed hold here in the country I live in. It is also very popular in countries in South America and Peru. My own personal experience with it was dismal.

And you can bet that this shaman is reaping the rewards of evil for destroying the lives of others. I have seen the kinds of payoffs that the devil gives to his followers in this life. They have no idea what is coming after their death.
    Horror.

There is a book I must get around to reading, it is called "People of the Lie" by M. Scott Peck. Apparently it describes these types well. Have met a few of them in the past, unfortunately.

It is a general word to describe Primitive, Tribal, often Nomadic Witchcraft. .The Shaman was a 'witch doctor'. Still is in fact in parts of the world, notably Africa

I'd say Chief Sitting Bull in the USA might be well described as a Fighting Shaman.

Sanctus, thank you for explaining. Yes, I have heard of witch doctors. Very scary and evil. I’m glad you have been saved from this oppressive shaman. Praise Jesus!

We had a copy of that book in our house for years, some guest probably left it there at some point. After we had our house enthroned to the Two Hearts, I felt strongly compelled to get rid of that book, which I promptly did.

There is a very dangerous spirit attached to Hinduism that I don't want to mention the name of but is becoming very popular because of Yoga and other eastern practices. Had the misfortune of encountering it myself when I was meddling with all sorts of new-age and other nonsense. All yoga exercises and poses, known as kriyas, are actually prayers to Hindu deities.

That reminds me of something very interesting I found out about the serial killer Ted Bundy. On one of his worst killing sprees at a Sorority house, he tried to enter the bedroom of an intended victim (he had already killed and raped several girls in the house at this point but was insatiable). He confessed that with this one girl, when he opened the door of the room he was not able to enter, like some invisible force was preventing him from entering the room, and he fled. Turns out that this girl was Catholic and had prayed the Rosary before going to bed that night.

I think it was Fr Ripperger said that some Satanists have taken to planting little curse objects hidden inside things that are later sold to unsuspecting Christians.

There is a special section of Forbidden Books in the Vatican Library which you can only get only get access to with special permission containing Satanic Codex's , Black Books one or two of which are said to be covered in human skin. This would make a great start for a film.:) I suppose they took these of Witches in past centuries before they burnt them...and no I don't think all witches were innocent, no more than I believe that all witches are innocent today. The only difference is today they rarely get caught because folks don't believe in them anymore.

The former LA Policeman Jesse Romero is just so interesting on this. As part of their training for the Police Department that did a spell as Jailors and he ended up taking care of some serial killers. As a test he offered one of them a dinner from their s own Warders canteen . Of course any Inmate would jump at the chance and one did. But when as the price he asked the gentleman to say, 'Jesus is Lord', the inmate just could not do so , he choked. The tried and tried to say the words but just couldn't.

These freaked Jesse Romero and his foiends out, as you can imagine.

{blinks} You've never heard of shamanism??

It's touted by some anthropologists, and of course New Agers, as being gateway practices (via spirits in Nature or hallucinogenics such as peyote) to "inner space" and/or the "spirit realms."

Mostly it's touted as noble, exciting, expansion of awareness, self-development, etc. It's primitive in orientation, so it allows one (supposedly) to tap into the Collective Unconscious too.

I read Carlos Castaneda as a young woman, curious; his The Teachings of Don Juan. It's a book you'll never forget, and I'm not recommending others do read it.

Sanctus, I'm glad you got away from that man.

Some New Age types are harmless seekers with stars in their eyes, a desire for adventure and learning...and there's plenty of wolves awaiting them.

I'm glad I got away from him too. Ds7! Even though it has taken even longer time to get away from him spiritually(souls ties, nightmares of him etc.), which I found was the most difficult part. He even had/has this weird power to send stuff back on a person, for instance for a long time anytime I mentioned him to anyone warning them about him I would start to feel breathless, uneasy etc. Certainly not a gift coming from the Holy Spirit! But through God's help it is getting better and have been set free of it. Thank God.

I had to put Fr. Ripperger's deliverance prayers to the test recently. Let me just say that my son participated in yoga, meditation, and New Age practices during his time in grad school. As DesertStar posted above, my son would be considered a 'harmless seeker', having no awareness of the danger that could befall him. Just before the whole virus lockdown my son had rented a room in his loft to someone who he believed was a good person. Shortly after the lockdown in NY, this individual began to exhibit agressive, dark behavior, screaming obscenities, making threats, and personal attacks. No matter what my son did to diffuse the situation, the hostility and hatred continued to escalate. It was so bad, he was forced to leave the loft repeatedly, and walk around town to escape. He told me he had never before experienced this level of fear, and felt as though this person was somehow attempting to take control of him. I told him he was dealing with an evil force, so he gave the roommate a 30 day notice to vacate in accordance with the lease agreement. This notice was followed by a fit of rage, and refusal to leave. My son called me the following night and his voice was shaking, he was forced to file a police report. I immediately began the deliverance prayers, for my son, and the roommate. On the day three of these prayers my son called, and I could hear the relief in his voice; the roommate was moving out on June 1! Praise God! These prayers are amazingly powerful!
I am still praying for my son's protection until this individual is gone. This experience was an eye opener for my son, who had never been the target of someone with pure evil intentions. I have warned him, and my daughters about New Age practices, but they think I'm crazy. I am convinced that this is what invited this evil individual into my son's life.
Since the pandemic began, I have noticed Our Lord has placed many crosses upon our family. When one cross is lifted, another comes to take it's place. I feel as though He is preparing us through these sufferings.

Shortly after being involved in all this stuff I was introduced to the Father Rookey Miracle Prayer and then the Chaplet of Divine Mercy which I said, and which set in course events which eventually led to spiritual safety. Personal experience that might be helpful for your son, Jo. Father Pat Collins Exorcist says the Miracle Prayer by Father Peter Mary Rookey is very powerful.

There was a point in my mid-20s when I was attracted to "alternative spiritualities." At the time I was very bitter and angry over a nasty church fight which broke that church (I'd attended since age 5, so lots of sentiment), created a lot of animosity/hatred in my little hometown; my family became despised outcasts.

I am thankful to the Lord that I never investigated too closely, and that's NOT me patting myself on the back; it's just that I'm always a bookworm and didn't have the gumption to investigate in person, with one exception: A quasi-Protestant (I was Protestant then) church whose "pastor" was a very cold and uncaring man. I visited once. He reacted like he hated the sight of me, and while another (older) woman spent the "discussion time" trying to cajole him into a better mood, he was sour and spiteful to everyone the entire time. I was like, YOU are the spiritual leader of this place??

I'd already seen enough unpleasantness in church settings, but THIS guy...

    Never went back.

Can only imagine what sorts of fiends and wolves await otherwise. I've read/heard stories similar to yours. :(

    The Miracle Prayer

Lord Jesus, I come before you, just as I am, I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins, please forgive me. In your Name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works. I give you my entire self, Lord Jesus, now and forever. I invite you into my life, Jesus. I accept you as my Lord, God and Saviour. Heal me, change me, strengthen me in body, soul, and spirit.

Come Lord Jesus, cover me with your Precious Blood, and fill me with your Holy Spirit. I love you Lord Jesus. I praise you Jesus. I thank you Jesus. I shall follow you every day of my life. Amen.

Mary, My Mother, Queen of Peace, St. Peregrine, the cancer saint, all the Angels and Saints, please help me. Amen.

Say this prayer faithfully, no matter how you feel. When you come to the point where you sincerely mean each word with all your heart, Jesus will change your whole life in a very special way. You will see.

    You did well. :)

May God forgive me, I used to be very interested In New Age and Spiritualist Writers when I lost my Faith. But what put me off them was the discovery that they contradicted each other, no matter how famous. So you would have one Medium saying souls came back and said this, this and this and other souls coming back other spirits coming back and saying things that were quite contradictory. This happens time and time and time again. It is totally illogical. I asked a Medium how she explained this but she had no answer and simply looked vexed.

I would find it very hard to believe in things that were contradictory and illogical but some people find it very easy, goodness knows how.
