There have been quite a few people banned on this forum. Some were so-called 'theologians'.

Others were banned for being New Age or heterodox; others were trolls or time-wasters.

Some have axes to grind and besmirch this forum as a result. All sorts of accusations are thrown at this forum.

Anyone who has been banned has been banned by a forum administrator for good reason. There are only a couple of people on this forum who have that power to ban people. Our administrators take their roll seriously and prayerfully. I consider it a privelege to belong to our Mother's Forum.

That wasn't "the point," as you well know.

Oh the point that Mr Symonds was treated deplorably.

I don't think he was treated deplorably. That's his opinion, which he is entitled to.

He was booted out before he left of his own volition.

The point is, not Symonds, but that some/many(?) people are made to feel "unwelcome." Even, some with real learning/credentials/experience. This is one "example" of something not working out for MoG.

I also think, there should be more "moderation," when discussing new/sensational "messages." So, thread drift doesn't happen, so some people don't try to "dominate" the conversations.

I am reminded of a quote from Christ 'Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword'.

This forum has always and will always divide. Not everyone understands the charism of this forum - it is unique in it's focus and devotion to our Lady. It is also a broad church with many different threads that give people a wide latitude to express their interests on a variety of issues from the signs of the times, the mystical tradition, prayers, devotions and also 'controversial' topics such as 'The Vatican has fallen'.

Some have left on good terms some on bad. Some have been banned. But I guess almost everyone who has left has a wee peak now and again at the forum to see what is going on. The forum is not for everyone because it takes the narrow road and is concerned with the salvation of souls something unfortunately lacking in the church today.

Those who have great devotion to our Lady and pray the Rosary tend to stay.

Just a few of my thoughts anyway.

I believe the moderators are fair and do a good job.

It's a strange "charism," that is "unique in focus and devotion to Our Lady," and, also, includes 72 pages devoted to "Q!" Maybe, this explains, why so much space/time on "sensational" messengers. But sensations/politics, takes away from a focus to Our Lady... That is a division.

Edit: Hard for one forum, to serve God and Politics?

Why do I get the feeling that you don't really like the Mother of God Forum?

I don't know what a troll is, but am wondering if I might be discerning one here.

Has Julia just qualified as a troll spotter. Who knows. Yes Christy1983, I wonder if you are a troll. Jesus loves you and suffered for you too. So who am I to judge. Sigh.

    Garabandal,

Yes, there are some good people here, and even good information. But way, way more rudeness than expected! From a select few, but intense few.

Julia, if you disagree, that is one thing. Name calling? That is "uncalled" for.

    It is bedtime.

I prayed a Rosary for your family today. The Joyful mysteries.

    Night!

Problem is, if it walks like a duck and it talks like a duck, what can one do but suppose it must be a duck.

Frodo, You have made very good points here which I put in bold.

I wonder if for at least a little while until things cool down on this topic if the members who support Father Michel's alleged visions/locutions could discuss them on the other threads that were created for this topic and those who do not support Father Michel's alleged visions/locutions could continue to discuss them on this thread. Again, I am suggesting this at least until things cool down a bit on this topic but there is a possibility that it might be best until at least October.

    Peace to all here.+

PS - I don't believe that member Christy1983 is a troll, she has been a member here for a few years now. Imho this topic just happens to be very heated at the moment.

I wish someone could put FOR and AGAINST in the headings to be able to know which one to avoid.

Then two happy mutual societies could live happily ever after. :ROFLMAO: :LOL:

I had forgotten that Kevin Symonds had been a member here. Thanks for reminding me Christy1983, way back in 2016. He wrote a great deal on the Fatima thread and the Charley Johnston there, both very, very contentious threads and are locked. It is a shame that he felt he had to leave here. He gave me very informative information on Fatima.

I purchased three books as a result of reading the Fatima thread, very costly thread for me.

Carol and Julia, good suggestions, but this suggestion makes more sense to me. But I suspect that soon this thread will also be locked.

    Blessings to all.
