Hi all, With recent developments with covid, I have been watching closely how things are panning out in the IT world for now I am not overly worried about our Forum going down, however a few recent emails from our host provider has indeed raised me to a new alert, in a nut shell if our provider has not got the staff to keep things running, well then unfortunately we will indeed loose our server connection, taking this into consideration I have put a plan in action if that does happen, so if the lights go out on our server.. We have a facebook page which will be used to keep in contact.. If I can move the forum to a new host server when our current one goes down I will. I would suggest it prudent that if you want to stay in contact with Padraig or anyone else on the forum you should share your telephone number through the "PRIVATE MESSAGE" facility....(please don't share your number on the public forum) we have other means that can be used as well such as whattsapp etc.. You can rest assure that I wont let the site disappear without a fight... in the meantime stay safe,be careful and trust in Jesus.. God Bless John.

Thanks John for all you work. This has crossed my mind also. Could a slack channel be another option. Especially since facebook is such a snooper. If someone had a list of a lot of email addresses then every one could get added to a slack channel when the need arose. Slack is good and quite private. A time might come when we won't be allowed to have our discussions in the pubic domain.
Facebook is something I do not use either... Remember it's a temporary emergency resort so the main page will just have info on the progress of getting the forum back up and any important information so you will not need a Facebook account or indeed have to log into it
We set up a MOG Yahoo group two years ago to communicate if the site goes down. It’s not very active but if the site does go down we share updates. You can sign up at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MotheOfGod/info
Thanks Brian and good thinking unfortunately yahoo are closing most functions down on that system so we can't upload new content to it This is the message I got from yahoo regarding the group Attention: Starting December 14, 2019 Yahoo Groups will no longer host user created content on its sites. New content can no longer be uploaded after October 28, 2019. Sending/Receiving email functionality is not going away, you can continue to communicate via any email client with your group members.
We only have ever used the Yahoo group for its email capabilities for forum updates etc like the FB page. There is no content but we should still be able to add new members to keep each other in the loop.
forum update.... Over the next few days could I ask members to limit uploading pictures and videos to the forum unless its absolutely necessary, I am trying to limit our data usage to allow any new members to join..this is something I am watching day to day and may need to adjust things accordingly please be patient whilst I ensure we remain here and in constant touch with each other...
