:( It's official, no more Masses in NH until further notice. Thank God I made it to confession this past weekend.

  2. In such times as these when we realize how good God is to us, giving us everything, and how lost we truly are without Him I love to listen to some of the compositions of the blind composer, Rodrigo. This one can take you to that pretty mystical dimension in which such people are gifted, within their loss, to take others. I can almost picture St. Theresa of Avila traveling the deserts of Spain, with all of the accompanying misery, establishing her convents w/ that inner drive that only God had given her.

Here is the adagio from his Concierto de Aranjuez.....very haunting.....like in those who wait to finally see what is only experienced here gropingly through what is shown us only through that glass darkly. Like a cry of "when oh Lord".

    Wow, that is beautiful. :)

Twenty one cases of Coronavirus in my State. We took a 90 minute drive north (not to the pistachio farm mentioned days ago) after breakfast out (in a sparsely populated restaurant in a little town). Our wedding anniversary.

Now I'll again be strictly housebound at least two weeks.

GOOD NEWS: My husband's (Protestant) church has canceled all services (Sunday morning & Wednesday evening) until April 5. This is a big relief to me, as these folks are big on shaking hands.

for those of you not from the states, the governor declared a state of emergency and no gatherings greater than 10 people...so that meant the diocese was forced by the govt to cancel public mass.

I am sure the actual number of cases is at least 10-20 times higher. People under 18 have little to no symptoms and middle aged people have mild symptoms. None of these are getting tested.

I’m guessing the death rate is a fraction of one percent.

I agree, we would only know true rate if we tested every one in the population. So many are carriers or it doesn't cause anything more than flu like symptoms.

I swear I had it mid January. The students all had it. Fever cough headache....terrible dry cough. the whole school was hacking....
I couldn't breathe going up steps...

I have wondered this myself Donna. I had a wretched thing in January that wasnt flu but had very heavy sore chest dry cough muscle aches and all around fatigue and awfulness. I saw the MD twice. Had a course of prednisone and ended up with an antibiotic but even then i had some shortness of breath. The fatigue lingered. I just assumed it was some random nasty respiratory thing. Now I'm wondering.

Thanks AED, we definitely need all the decades we can get...
I had a debate with my wife after the rosary. I made a comment stating that if every man, woman and child n Ireland joined this rosary. The virus would disappear immediately. She took issue, explaining that I did not definitively know this. I argued that heaven places so much kudos in the rosary; that it remain resolute in my belief.

On many occasions I have read about how the rosary changed events dramatically. And Our Lady herself has stated that the rosary is THE weapon of these times...

I don't often win an argument with herself. But I won this one (...herself just didn't know it!)

One side note, I was given a huge grace today. While i didn't make Confession, I did make the final daily Mass for the time being. Right before the 5:15 evening Mass, my priest learned of the bishop's decision today.

For the time being, we still have confessions.

My tears were both joy at following the Holy Spirit (not knowing how much longer) and grief.

This Associate is such a special man!! His homily was a treasure, much needed.

Neighboring dioceses aren't following the governor yet.

(y)She will know it by and by because you are right. It is the only fool proof weapon against this plague or any other catastrophe. The sad thing is so many Catholics have forgotten it.

My son said the same odd thing to me the other day that he knew some people who were sick this winter and just couldn’t shake it, it just kept them under the weather for so long. Hmmmm

A lot of people around here had this coughing "flu" and for some it turned into p neumonia. But no one was tested because there was no test. In a couple of cases I know of the people infected had a terrible ti.e getting over it. It just didnt let go.

I've also found if I don't have a Rosary on my person, my mood and outlook suffer. So yes, I keep it on my person (except during sleep of course).

A practical consideration regarding the cancellation of public Masses until further notice: it will not be long before parishes really start to feel the financial pinch of the absence of the Sunday (and most likely Easter) collections. What do any of you think about whether we should continue to support the Church financially while the sacraments are unavailable to us? I know it is our obligation but I have mixed feelings about this.
