Does anyone know if Mari Loli meant that communism was going to be the cause of Holy Mass being cancelled? Because I don’t think she was clear on what she meant.

7 REASONS NOT TO PANIC OVER CORONA VIRUS 19
MARCH 12, 2020 FROM ROME EDITO

    by Br. Alexis Bugnolo

There are at least 7 reasons not to panic over corona virus 19.

    First reason not to panic
The pathogen is of a family of corona viruses already known to man, as the World Health Organization explains:

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans. In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

What they do not say, is how large a family of virus they are. But Wikipedia does, in the article on Coronaviridae:

    The family Coronaviridae is organized in 2 sub-families, 5 genera, 23 sub-genera and about 40 species:[2]

Note, that each species can have variations, some more potent than others. But of these 40 species, and all their variations, only 3 rare forms were know to be lethal to man. Corona Virus 19 is just the one discovered in 2019.

    Second Reason not to Panic
The infection rates are a lot lower than are being reported. There is no definitive test for corona virus being used in emergency room admissions at hospitals. Many patients may be suffering from other kinds of infections. This is because the symptoms of Corona virus infection are similar to many other pathogens. Thus, identifying someone as infected by symptoms is unscientific.

    Third Reason not to Panic
The mortality rates being reported are statistically being misrepresented. They regard the rates of mortality of patients admitted to hospitals suffering from influenza like symptoms which are presumed to be Corona virus. Thus, the current rates being reported of 3.4% do not regard only the Corona virus. Also, death may not result from the virus but from other symptoms. A highly rigorous analysis of causes of death is needed, and this cannot be done daily, this requires months of statistical analysis and has to be conducted in highly controlled environments. None of that is happening.

    Fourth Reason not to Panic
The mortality rates being reported are being used by the Media to cause panic by misinterpreting them. A mortality rate of 3.4% of those presumed to be infected and who are admitted to Hospitals for grave symptoms, means that 3.4% of only that population dies. It does not refer to the entire population. You cannot multiply 3.4% by the entire population of your city, province, or Nation to extrapolate anything.

Since most never go to hospital for influenza like symptoms, and most have good enough immune systems to resist corona virus, the actual mortality rate for the entire population of your country will be a tiny fraction. The Ministry of Health data published yesterday here in Italy confirms this. While the press has claimed hundreds of thousands are infected, the Ministry confirms only 10 thousand, and 848 deaths, but they say that of these deaths there can be no certitude that they were caused by the corona virus without a rigorous study.

Thus, in Italy, with 60.48 million people, only 1.65% of 1% of the entire population is actually infected. While, La Verità today, is reporting that the first case came to Italy from Munich, Bavaria, when an Italian visited the city in January about the time of the Acies Ordinata event in that city, on January 18, 2020. Thus, in 8 weeks, a minuscule number of infections and deaths. While in Italy in 2017, 25 thousand died of the influenza from November to March, at a rate of 5000 a month, or 1250 a week, which would in the same period of time be a mortality of 10,000 or 12.5 times more lethal than corona virus 19.

    Fifth Reason not to Panic
This particular strain of corona virus, cannot survive summer heat. Already in Singapore, the number of infections has fallen dramatically. This means, in northern countries which have well heated homes and public spaces, the possibility of infection will be almost non existent. Italy is suffering higher rates than the rest of Europe because heating in private and public places is abysmal. Italians turn heat on for about 1 hour a day, or two at most. And most public buildings are not heated or only to about 60 degrees. So the true mortality rates in Italy will not occur in other nations.

    Sixth reason not to panic
Nothing happens except God will it. Disease is a punishment for the sin of Adam and the sins of individuals. Confessing your sins and staying in God’s grace will give you real protection from an unprovided for death. And if God has sent this pathogen to punish sinners, then it makes sense to repent and stop being a sinner.

    Seventh reason not to panic
Finally, if you want to put the Corona Virus scare into historical context, just read about the Spanish Fever of 1917 or the Black Death, to see that the corona virus is not a plague or a pandemic of any level of real threat. Nations, Churches, businesses and cities should not be shut down on its account. Corona virus is not going to cause any noticeably higher death rate. You won’t see your friends dropping off or more funerals than normal, as the national rates of death from other causes are 10 to 100 times higher, as can be seen from this report about mortality in Italy.

I'm sorry but these blog posts completely contradict every medical expert across the globe and do more harm than good in my opinion.

The consensus from every Italian doctor I've read says that they don't have enough respirators for the people needing intensive care so people are dying from their inability to breathe.

I don't see the value in downplaying a new virus that has shown itself to be highly contagious and requiring intensive care in about 20% of cases.

Well, your reports contradict what I hear from my own family doctor. Yes, this virus is dangerous to the elderly and those with compromised immune systems, but so is common flu, which was 12.5 times as deadly as Coronavirus to Italians in previous years. I don't trust a word from the same Fake New MSM sources that have peddled so many lies over the past few years, particularly regarding Trump. This Coronavirus is not nearly as scary as watching people take every word they hear on Fox News or CNN or from Government officials as Gospel truth. Seeing the world economy nosedive and masses cancelled, all over Fake News and Government proclamations from the same institutions that drove this country to war over the Fake news and Government lies of WMDs in Iraq, is what is truly scary and dangerous to public and spiritual health.

But the fake news was downplaying this from the beginning. They were angry that Trump stopped the flights coming from China. They complained over and over again on how Trump was handling it. One reporter on the MSM said the flu is here already, so why should we close our borders.

There may be some downplaying, but everytime I tune into the MSM media outlets, I hear and read nothing by 24/7 fear mongering regarding this "pandemic."

Rome is the only place in the world where I'd rather pedal a unicycle on a tightrope anchored between buildings than share the road with 15 lanes of coffee-fueled Italians late for anything, anywhere. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

lots of inaccurate info in here; how many epidemiologists have you sourced before you picked a monastery brother as your personal expert to quote.
Very offtrack in offering this up.

Many of us here have been watching the 'Peak Prosperity' 30-40 minute videos(on youtube) being daily offered up by an epidemiologist for the last 6+ weeks covering all the relevant issues. Pandemics are mundane to what they do.

So please cite me a peer-reviewed epidemiologist who has determined the true mortality rate of Coronavirus compared to the common flu.

None of this addresses what I said. That 20% of patients need hospitalization, and it overwhelms the healthcare system.

First thought...he first claimed he knew Benedict would resign in April 2012 because of research into the Malichi prophesy and other research ...

The Pope's brother had said in an interview prior to this that the Pope might resign early due to poor health at age 85 (April 2012 he turned 85).
Also in 2010 Pope Benedict himself talked about the possibility of a Pope resigning in interview "Light of the world" snip below...
"If a pope clearly realizes that he is no longer physically, psychologically and spiritually capable of handling the duties of his office, then he has a right and, under some circumstances, also an obligation to resign."

So that was probably the source of his "prediction" that the Pope would retire in April 2012, the month of his 85th birthday.

Then Benedict did resign, but not until 2013.
After Benedict resigns, he (Tom Horn) says he predicted it because of a dream, not because of research.
After the fact, he acts as if he had heard nothing about the possibility of a resignation before his "dream" in your video, but in 2012 a year before the Pope resigns, he said he had been researching and concluded that the Pope would resign April 2012.

Then Horn claims Pope Benedict actually resigned in April 2012 as Horn had predicted, but it was kept secret as reported in the New York Times.
This is an inaccurate at best. The Pope made the decision in 2012, but did not actually resign until 2013 as reported in the article he himself referenced, snip below...
"That the resignation was long in the planning was confirmed by Giovanni Maria Vian, the editor of the Vatican newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano, who wrote on Monday that the pope’s decision “was taken many months ago,” after his trip to Mexico and Cuba in March 2012, “and kept with a reserve that no one could violate.”"

So I would say his predictions are questionable at best. Anti-Catholic, Anti-Mary, and dangerous to your soul more likely.

In addition they claim these are "sealed Bible prophesies"....
They claim a type of hidden revelation unsealed by themselves...
This sounds like pure Gnosticism, which has been condemned by the Church since the earliest times.

    Catholic Answers:
"Gnosticism, which gets its name from the Greek word gnosis (“knowledge”) was a religious movement beginning, possibly, before the time of Christ and extending into the first few centuries of the Christian era. Gnostics viewed themselves as “those who know.”

Then he talks about the asteroid Apophis. He admits that he knew about the asteroid BEFORE his dream about the asteroid. Then he has the dream. Then he researches when it will pass near earth and "predicts" the date that the asteroid will hit the earth.

This stuff is sensationalist and harmful to the virtue of Hope, and comes from people who are anti-Catholic conspiracy theorists. There are plenty of authentic Catholic saints to listen to. Why would anyone seek out those who bad-mouth the bride of Christ himself...The Catholic Church?

Some of Tom Horn's thoughts...Fatima is a demonic alien deception. The Roman Church [note how they omit the word Catholic) is forever besmirched by its capacity for murderous zeal.”
He claims the apparitions at Lourdes to St Bernadette were fabrications!!!

No one should view this stuff. It is anti-Catholic, and seeks to denigrate those Catholics especially who have a devotion to Mary. His biblical interpretations run directly counter to true Catholic teaching.

Mark mallet has a great take on things such as Mass cancellations in his latest writing. I can't simply paste the link from my phone.

Jo, how is your grandchild and the rest of your family?
My own eight month old grandson was seriously ill with a respiratory illness that was finally diagnosed as RSV. His Mom became ill with the same but it attacked her sinuses instead of lungs. Since my husband and I take care of our little guy twice a week, we were the next to get it. Everyone was afraid that it was the corona virus because most of us had the same symptoms but it wasn’t. We were never tested for it and we’re still fighting this awful cough and periodic fever but we’re all definitely on the mend.
I’m praying that it is not corona virus and that you all get better soon.

The Governor of WA is closing all public business gathering places. Notice this is state wide, not just western WA where the virus has taken the vast vast majority of its toll. In fact, I think the only infections in the eastern portion of the state are related to people who were placed in an area hospital there after the cruise line debacle. Lots and lots of assumptions being made in WA these days. Shelter in place will be in effect soon just like Italy.

Another thing that might be a concern is that the vast majority of people affected by loss of employment in these positions are the young. Young people, working restaurants, bars and retail. What usually happens when young people are unable to work? Those federal dollars will only last so long.

Inslee orders all restaurants, bars shut down in state in wake of coronavirus

The order goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday morning, an Inslee spokesperson said, though King County has chosen to enact its ban immediately.

“Given the explosion of COVID-19 in our state and globally, I will sign a statewide emergency proclamation tomorrow to temporarily shut down restaurants, bars and entertainment and recreational facilities," Inslee said in a press release announcing the new order. “Restaurants will be allowed to provide take-out and delivery services but no in-person dining will be permitted. The ban will not apply to grocery stores and pharmacies. Other retail outlets will have reduced occupancy."

Retail outlets include gas stations, banks, hardware, stores and shopping centers.

Inslee also increased a ban on gatherings over 250 people down to a ban of over 50 people, and all gatherings under 50 people are prohibited unless previously announced criteria for public health and social distancing are met.

“We are at a critical moment in this crisis," said King County Executive Dow Constantine. "We are leaving the phase of COVID-19 outbreaks in concentrated areas of the county, and entering the phase of potentially rapid and widespread infection."

He suggests just assume the new coronavirus is already widespread.

“It is time, right now, for people to assume that they and everyone they meet is infected, to avoid any unnecessary interactions that might lead to further infection, and to wait and monitor to see if they have in fact been infected so that they can isolate and recover without presenting a risk to others," Constantine said.

Padraig you called it 3 months ago when it first emerged. You said then that the only thing to do was call on the Blessed Mother. You were right. O Mary conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to you.

Perhaps some good news? Community to community outbreak appears to be limited to a narrow east-west distribution.

Hopefully summer in the northern hemisphere will get rid of this virus.

djmoforegon, I am sorry to hear your family has been suffering through RSV, I pray that your little grandson, and all of you recover soon. My grandson no longer has a fever, but is still struggling with his asthma, and very dependent on his nebulizer. When he was at the ER they tested him for all kinds of viruses, but we are still waiting for the results. My daughter, who we thought was getting better, woke up this morning with a returning fever, and congestion. We are concerned about this, and she is calling her doctor today. My parents, me, and my husband have still have no symptoms, but we are all on edge and I pray that this sickness does not sweep through the whole family. Than you for your concern, I will post as soon as we hear about the test resuts.
