HSE top brass re TV Live press conference was v nervous at times as media didn't trust them. Remember the 3 top brass medics work in a protected medical sterile environment than we as people who live in quite exposed environment. No wonder I didn't trust them cos they ere saying its all right Jack, nothing to be concerned etc. St pats day events going ahead which was quite unbelievable cos economic interest took precedence than societys health or welfare of their people.. Its govt caretaker FG with huge Liberal agenda don't give a damn cos they are covered with expensive health insurance as opposed to ordinary people with no health insurance.

In light of the church closings in Italy, it only makes sense that the Vatican would designate a day for a special Mass to be offered at every church for protection from this virus before more churches have to close their doors. This would be comforting for the faithful, and God willing mitigate the effects of this plague.

Our Parish Priest has said from today there will not be a hand shake at the peace greeting time in Church. Thank goodness. And Holy Eucharist will only be given in the hand.....Sigh! I will wear a pair of gloves as I normally only receive on the tongue. The Chalice will no longer be shared by the communicants, this is fine with me, because we only received Eucharist for years until after Second Vatican Council anyway. Jesus is present body, blood, soul and Divinity in both species. There is a special prayer we can say against the plague of Corona Virus. I will try and post it in the prayers bit on the Forum. Yes, what is wrong with a nod or polite gesture without the touchy feely going on. We had an old man in the parish who used to scratch his rear during Mass; he used to put his hand down inside his trousers and have a good scratch. There was always a row of seats empty in front and behind him once people got used to his habit. And he would go up and receive Holy Eucharist. An old north country (UK) saying. There is naught as queer as folks. Saying goes back before the word queer was high jacked by the bender gender generation.

Today when I went to Superstore, the hand sanitizer was sold out and almost all the toilet paper too! Where my daughter lives, she has had to buy tissue because the stores are sold out of toilet paper.

LOL What a hoot. I hate the sign of peace. I try to pretend I haven't heard it called. But I wouldn't hurt anyone's feelings so if they offer I always shake. Funny things can go on at mass. I know a young priest who announces the date, the day and the time at the start of every mass. He sometimes gives a little commentary on the weather too, it drives me crazy
Same situation here, stores are not restocking. We have a large population of seniors in our town, and so many of them were out in the stores today searching for supplies. Some were quite feeble, and they were distressed looking at the empty shelves. Very sad.
