Lynne, this is wonderful! I am so happy to hear this. Great article. Thanks for posting. The areas in DC that were visited are not all that close together. I’m sure traffic was a factor, making it a trial. Great that they did this.
There have been numerous credible reports of medical personnel on the ground in China claiming infections and mortality rates of literally 10, 20, 30 times or more than that “officially” reported by the communist Chinese government. This is why they will not permit ANY westerners into Wuhan.
It’s not so much that I believe I’d actually contract the virus (although it could happen) but that at any given moment I could be quarantined for 2 weeks or longer in a foreign country. If I dropped the trip on a swap board someone would pick it up in a minute, so I would not be giving it to someone that did not want it. It is usually a very desirable trip, as I have been flying almost 42 years and I am the most junior flight attendant on the trip!
I need to get a new french press. The old one broke. It made really good coffee. The k cups dont make strong enough coffee for me.
Ah. I have no idea how that works. I haven't been on an airplane in 20 years. Wishing you the best and will keep you in prayer. I wouldn't want to be stuck in quarantine either - especially far away from home.
I suppose when I originally asked the question “Should I stay or should I go” I thought I’d get responses from people who live in the U.K, hoping to be reassured that all was well there — so no problem. Like if someone from the U.K. asked me if I thought it was ok to fly to Atlanta, to which I would have answered “Sure, no problem at this point”.
This fellow has a bit of good news about the secondary infection reports and the duration of the virus. Pardon if this has already been posted.
This is my concern where any travel may occur. The danger of getting stuck somewhere like the passengers on the diamond princess. No way out. Countries keep closing their borders. It's a real worry.
Whiplash! New England Journal of Medicine: Coronavirus Could Be No Worse than Flu An editorial published Friday in the New England Journal of Medicine speculated that the coronavirus currently causing panic in world markets could turn out no worse than “a severe seasonal influenza” in terms of mortality. Citing an analysis of the available data from the outbreak in China, the authors note that there have been zero cases among children younger than 15; and that the fatality rate is 2% at most, and could be “considerably less than 1%.” Those who have died have been elderly or were already suffering from another illness — as with ordinary flu. The underlying data suggest that the symptoms varies, and fewer than one in six of the cases reported were “severe.” The authors note that coronavirus looks to be much less severe than other recent outbreaks of respiratory illnesses: [T]he overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively. The vast majority of patients recover, and among those who are hospitalized, the median stay thus far is 12 days. Coronavirus, they note, does spread easily, and the average infected person has infected two other people. That means the U.S. should expect the illness to gain a “foothold.” But they note travel restrictions on China (imposed by President Donald Trump over the objections of some critics) “may have helped slow the spread of the virus.” https://www.breitbart.com/health/20...icine-coronavirus-could-be-no-worse-than-flu/
Maybe I'm wrong. Could the world be freaking out over another nasty new strain of FLU? Am I over-simplifying and/or do I have perspective of a very probable Chastisement?
Oh oh I was just going to say this...and you thought it too! “We can’t forget about the multiplication of the loaves and fishes.”
I wonder if President Trump knows more about this virus than he's letting on. If it was engineered in North America and then stolen, sold, or given to the Chinese government as some have speculated, then perhaps scientists already know the course it will take. Maybe that's why he made those comments.
Communion must be administered into parishioners' hands and not their mouths. no Holy Water and no shaking hands Didn't take long for the Catholic Church in N. Ireland to impliment changes to the Mass one case of the virus and that happens oh dear I have big issues with receiving on my hand I never have and I have said I never will
