Maybe you could get big Rubbermaid bins or packing boxes, store food in them, and then cover with a tablecloth and turn them into an end table.
it would create widespread panic, in addition to a tumultuous conclave due to the fear of the New Pope also dying from the disease, this would certainly influence to elect a much younger Pope due to the elderly being more vulnerable to the virus.
Well, Denise, during this rather chaotic time where there is still so much unknown, I'd probably counsel someone like yourself to protect yourself if you can possibly do so in your profession...and avoid travel like this right now. U.S. citizens are avoiding travel to certain infected countries where the spread is most likely and you say that you know that you could possibly be in contact w/ individuals from such places themselves. Too many unknowns to know just how you would be taken care of in other countries and their medical practitioners' handling of this thing at the moment. I'd maybe ask the Queen of Angels to guide you and if you'd decide to go to protect you w/ added angels besides your own personal one!! Difficult decision for sure.
If you can get out of this without losing your job or placing someone else in harm's way instead, I'd NOT go.
I can understand your concerns. Has your airline discussed precautionary measures for crews? I would go to work, but I would be vigilant about following recommendations such as frequent hand washing, anti bacterial gel, etc. May God bless and protect you, Denise. Your job is not an easy one especially under these circumstances.
Anyone else noticing a change in news coverage about Covid 19 now? The alternative sources are calming down and I think we’re in a “lull before the storm” phase. Not much “new” to report, except that the virus is in 45 countries now and as far as TPTB in USA goes, the most important thing to them is the stock market staying up. At the same time, MSM seems to be pouring gas on a rising panic. As some are remarking on social media, the Dems and MSM are trying to use the opportunity to attack and weaken Trump. They are then going on to conclude the whole scare is a made up media and economic event just to hurt Trump. I posted on Facebook yesterday: There are Facebook friends currently mocking those concerned about the coronavirus pandemic. Just a point about “media hype.” No, the media were NO WHERE to be found all of January and the first half of February, going so far as to mock and censor those who raised an alarm. This is most definitely NOT "media driven" - except insofar as now they are opportunistically using it to attack Trump. Do a little more research before you mock those who are concerned - and stop referring to MSM resources you’re also referring to as “media hype” to denigrate those with legitimate concerns about this virus. Hopefully you’re right. But the facts coming out of China, despite communist propaganda undermining the truth about this outbreak, tell us different. There will probably be a mild late winter and spring wave which will wane over the summer, and some will use this as an opportunity to beat their chests. But the second and third waves, this fall and next winter, are likely to be a different story.
Yes Andy that was Marie- Julie, Padraig mentions it on page one of this thread...great to hear from you how you doing bro...
President Trump has mentioned recently that he thinks the corona virus will just disappear at some point. He used the word miraculous.
Count me in as going overboard. I hit the pasta jackpot at the market this morning, it was on sale for .60 cents a box. Never one to pass up a good sale, I bought a ton of it. If we do manage to avoid 'the plague', I will donate my virus stash to the parish food pantry. I got a kick out of Fr.Mark...I also bought 10 cans of tuna, and a loaf of rye, but I passed up that $15 bottle of coconut oil, and I bought a big bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee for the freezer, along with a lifetime supply of Coffee mate creamer.
Irreplaceable Dunkin’ Donuts coffee Gotta have it I have it stashed away Btw, what does a “ton of pasta” look like? And a “ lifetime supply” of coffee mate? Good shopping, jo.
My ton of pasta filled the entire bottom of my cart. My $2.99 coffee mate container was so big, it wouldn't fit in any of my kitchen cabinets. It now holds a place of honor on top of the fridge.
Since I live alone, K cups are very convenient for my daily cup of coffee. (And I HAVE to have my daily cup of coffee.) I bought a manual K cup coffee maker for my trip out west and back this fall, and it’s proven to be a reliable part of my daily routine now. They’re available on Amazon and don’t require electricity. I can heat water in my kettle on the wood stove or one of my wood or denatured alcohol powered camp stoves in an emergency. I can give up sugar in my coffee fairly easily, but I have to have creamer or it upsets my stomach. I’m thinking of putting back a case of condensed milk for that reason.
I've noticed this too Brian. You explain it very well. Sadly everything now is political on both sides. However dems using this as a weapon are despicable.
I use K cups too, but I have a French press pot that I use for power failures. Your manual brewer is great!
I don't want to be a doom and gloom guy, but has anyone else wondered if China is under reported the fatality rate of this thing? I pulled some data that compared "closed cases" by country, and I'm curious if this thing will end up looking more like China or more like Italy/Iran/Diamond Princess numbers.
