Her story is extremely inspiring. It blew me away. The conversations she had with Jesus and also her guardian angel...amazing. She was so close to Jesus, and so attacked by satan, that Jesus allowed her angel to stand with her almost without interruption, occasionally the angel even reprimanded her conduct when she was young. Everyone should read her account because of the effort she and her confessor endured just to write it down. Very, very well documented by her confessors and in her diary, which she called "The Notebook of my Sins". Here is her diary which was stolen by a demon (which she witnessed entering through a window), and satan tried to burn it when it was in his possession, and it was miraculously returned to its location only when her confessor performed an excorcism for the diary at the tomb of a local saint united with her: On display at Saints John and Paul Basilica in Rome, Italy She was to communicate with her confessor by mail regularly when he was travelling. She had no money for postage, so she set the letters next to the manger scene in her home, and sent her angel on errands to deliver the letters. Her confessor testing this phenomenon several times to insure it was truly angelic. The letters would even arrive in towns where she knew not exactly where he was, one time delivered by a small anonymous boy. I have to paste the story of the diary and the excorcism here: (From "The Life of St. Gemma Galgani" by Father Germanus C.P., -St Gemma's Spiritual Director) From February to May 1901, St Gemma was ordered to write a "General Confession" (Autobiography) by her Spiritual Director, Father Germanus C.P. , in order that he might be able to better direct her spiritual life. It filled 93 pages of a notebook, all hand written. -She calls it "The notebook of my sins". The original handwritten Autobiography still exists, and is on display at Saints John and Paul Basilica in Rome, Italy. Gemma's beautiful handwriting is still very legible, however the remarkable thing is that each page has the appearance of having been burned. Father Germanus (Germano) C.P., St Gemma's Spiritual Director, explains this phenomenon in his work, "The Life of St. Gemma Galgani": "Gemma manuscript, when finished, was by my orders given to the charge of her adopted "mother", Signora Cecilia Giannini, who kept it hidden in a drawer awaiting the first opportunity of handing it to me. Some days elapsed and Gemma thought she saw the Demon pass through the window of the room where the drawer was, laughing, then disappearing into the air. Accustomed as she was to such apparitions, she did not think too much of it. But he (the devil) having returned shortly thereafter to molest her with a repulsive temptation, as often happened, and having failed once again, left gnashing his teeth and declaring exultantly 'War! War! Your book is in my hands!' After this, she immediately wrote to tell me. Then, owing to the obedience I gave her to disclose to her adopted mother (Cecilia Giannini -editor) everything extraordinary that happened to her, she therefore was obliged to tell her what had just occurred. They then went together and opened the drawer, and discovered that the notebook was indeed missing. I was written to at once, and one can easily imagine my consternation at the loss of such an important treasure. But, what was to be done? I thought a great deal about it and just then, while at the tomb of Blessed Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin (now St Gabriel Possenti -editor), a fresh idea came to my mind. I resolved to exorcise the devil and thus force him to return the manuscript if he had really taken it. With my ritual stole and holy water I went to the tomb of Blessed Gabriel and although nearly 400 miles from Lucca, I pronounced the exorcism in the regular form. God seconded my ministry and at the very same hour the notebook was restored to the place from which it had been taken several days before. But in what a state! The pages from top to bottom were all smoked and some parts were burned, as if each one had been separately exposed to strong fire. Yet, they were not so badly burned as to destroy the writing. Wow Jon, the Gem of God never occured to me! I think that's a significant find. Again, we'll see. SteveD, I believe the confrerres of St. Pio who said he did see the miracle before he died, and I do believe the Virgin Mary told Conchita that Joey lomangino will receive new eyes and must be alive. I really don't think Conchita's prophecy about the last pope has failed either. Conchita said there will be 3 more popes. At home, her mother thinking she might be in error questioned Conchita about this and Conchita said that the Virgin Mary said 4 popes, but one the Virgin didn't count one, but that she{Conchita} did'nt know what the Virgin Mary meant by this.
Whether St. Gemma has any connection or not, I found it very worthwhile studying her life. It was powerful. Tears began flowing from my eyes many times, just from the awareness I gained of the absolute genuine truth and purity of her heart, and of the heart and mind of Jesus. I couldn't control it. We need to pay attention to events between February 3rd and April 3rd. If things stay the same as they are now, then time is not the first part of this year. Between those dates are many potential escalation points (potential false flag attacks on public events 2-3, asteroid fly by 2-15, comet close encounter 3-10, 188 day earthquake cycle with 9.4 potential 4-2 +/- few days, and any economic meltdown which could occur at any time).
Hi Hope, can you supply any links to the claims about St. Pio or Conchita's prophecy? I know that many people discount Pope John Paul I because of his short reign but, as I recall, the prophecy did indicate that one Pope (included in the three Popes then predicted) would have a short reign.
Like you, Jon, I love St. Gemma but to call her a martyr of the eucharist is stretching things beyond my credibility. In fact Conchita definitely said that the martyr involved is young and male (See the book 'Star on the Mountain'). I have pointed this out several times to Ray Conte who seems unmovable in his conviction that the saint is BLESSED Imelda Lambertini.
I have never heard that the Miracle day falls on the feast of a "male". However, if April is the month of the Miracle, It could be the feast day of Alexandrina de Costa, April 25th (2013 or 2019 is next times this date falls on a Thursday). I first read a book on her glorious life back in the early 1980's written by Francis Johnston, called Alexandrina the Agony and the Glory. Born in April 1904, she was beatified by Pope Jophn Paul II on April 25th 2004. Hi Fatima, I bought a book recommended by Joey Lomangino at a talk he gave many years ago, 'Star on the Mountain' by Fr. Laffineur. The author states that he was present at a meal when Conchita stated that 'the miracle will take place on the feast of a young martyr of the Eucharist. It was a boy who was carrying the Eucharist to persecuted Christians.' 'He was stoned to death'. This saint has been identified as St. Tarcisius by some but his feast day is celebrated on August 15. Perhaps a change in the Church's calendar might occur or perhaps the date of his death has been mis-recorded or perhaps it isn't him. However if the reported conversation is correct, the relevant martyr is young and male and died in particular circumstances. (If it wasn't a mystery, we would know something that Our Lady wants to be hidden for the moment).
Well this is news to me. One has to wonder if this author heard, for the first and last time, a message from Conchita that she has not given before anywhere. Did the author say when the meal was and where it was? Seems odd that she reaveled this one time only, especially when apparently it is not to be revealed. Just saying.
I agree that it is odd and is not generally known but it is clearly recorded in the book as a direct quote given in the presence of the priest (which makes it a bit more reliable, I suppose) who wrote the book. This book was written in the very early days of the apparitions when the visionaries were still in the village and was, as I say, recommended by Joey. I don't know whether the book is still in print but it is very comprehensive and makes an interesting read, especially so many years after the events. As to where and when, the author states that the conversation took place in Conchita's next door neighbour's home in Garabandal in September 1963 over a meal.
I have been re-reading St Faustina's diary lately for inspiration, and have come across several points made by Jesus that all this was to come very soon (probably within our lifetime). One of them of course was entry #83 about how the earth will be darkened, and He will appear in the sky with nailmarks in His hands and feet. Another is near the end of the book, with the reference to a "Star of Poland preparing the world for my second coming" which of course is John Paul II. I found another near the front of the book last night night, and will find it. I like this diary alot because it is SO well documented, and there is no hearsay in it. Of course His whole point was for Faustina to prepare the world for His second coming by proclaiming His period of Mercy, and being His secretary of mercy, so the prophecies of hers have a definate purpose and are very much on track with Fatima and Garabandal prophecies.
Concerning the asteroid. As far as I recall Conchita describes the Warning as , 'Being like two comets or asteroids smashing together in the sky'. (I think here she is speaking of the outside if an interior reality. ) I mean forst the physical sgin in the sky then being mirrored in the Kingdom within the soul. I also believe from a series of dreams that an asteroid wuill hit the Earth, somewhere, \I Supect in the Mid Atlantic. THis from dreams of the destruction of my own city by an immense tidal wave. If you check out Apophis's probable pathway one of them is Mid Atlantic. Again a loyt of this is guess work I don't have any special knowledge. My guess is that the wickedness of man has not yet come fully to hte boil to get things rolling. I would say a few years yet, which chimes with the date of Apophis. Also the name , 'Apohis' itself is just so spookey and right. 'With the possible exception of Aten only during the Amarna Period, no single Egyptian god was considered to be really all powerful. My friend recently sent me this-- I have sensed or thought this for a year or more. I'm glad Mark has put it to words which I am not able to. The Warning or Illumination could happen very soon and will be refuted by the New Agers and anti-christ followers. I believe Mark wrote a while back that the Illumination has started for some. It is my belief this is true. Some of us are being prepared to serve God after the Illumination when it is refuted by the other side. Keep an eye on Garabandal as well. The Miracle may happen on April 11, 2013 which is the feast day of St. Stanislau. Check the website if you haven't done so. The Superbowl will have commercials and entertainment equal to or greater than the demonic ads last Superbowl. It is televised world wide. God may say enough is enough. For what it is worth June and I will be in Medjugorje on April 11. If there is a Miracle on that day I'm sure it will be in both sites if not more. Wow - Praise God. I read most of the book last night, and I was struck by two things: -I don't think the potential months for the Miracle were ever mentioned at the time this was printed (correct me if I missed it). So they appear to have come from some private locution at some later date, not pronounced in an apparition for revelation or dissemination. -The discussion on the martyr was referenced as a casual conversation over dinner, but not mentioned as to how she knew this (e.g. apparition, locution, dream, feeling,...)

St. Tarcisius Child Martyr of the Eucharist ST. TARCISIUS, MARTYR Third Century A tradition dating from the sixth century says that St. Tarcisius was an acolyte whose fidelity and courage so impressed the leaders of the Church during the persecution of Valerian that he was entrusted with taking the Blessed Sacrament secretly to the Christians who awaited martyrdom in prison. This custom arose when the priests who ministered to the prisoners would be easily discovered, while the acolytes were less known to the heathens. The Roman Martyrology, based on the fourth-century poem of Pope St. Damasus, gives the story of the "boy martyr of the Eucharist" in these words: "At Rome, on the Appian way, the passion of St. Tarcisius the acolyte, whom pagans met carrying the sacrament of the Body of Christ and asked him what it was he was carrying. He deemed it a shameful thing to cast pearls before the swine, and so was assaulted by them for a long time with clubs and stones until he gave up the ghost. When they turned over his body, the sacrilegious assailants could find no trace of Christ's Sacrament either in his hands or in his clothing. The Christians took up the body of the martyr and buried it with honor in the cemetery of Callistus." In his poem Pope Damasus compares St. Tarcisius with St. Stephen who was stoned by the Jews, and praises the martyr for suffering a cruel death rather than surrender "the divine Body to raging dogs." The body of St. Tarcisius was most probably laid to rest with those of Pope St. Zephyrinus and others in the Basilica of St. Sixtus and Cecilia, but at present it is said to be in the Church of San Silvestro in Capite.
