    This is the truth.

I wouldn't argue too much about it though, for as you say we'll all know soon enough one way or the other.

As is so often the case people choose what they want to believe.

Yes. Exactly. And sadly people will believe what they want to believe.
I'd like to add that I would be extremely happy if all this is a false flag that goes up in smoke. But......my "Holy Spirit spidey sense" says no. Its real as real can be.

  3. Years ago we lived a couple of years in the Veneto not far from Padua. I remember back then that birds from South/Central America were sold at the nearby open market. It didn't seem that there were many restrictions about such sales. Our downstairs neighbors bought a parrot who used to follow the husband around the apt! One day it got out a window and, as they say, "flew the coup". And there is a U.S. Army Post in that Verona/Padua/Venice area. They must be taking precautions. And not everyone lives on the post. Many live "on the economy" in nearby towns! I don't know about now but a number of the troops used to regularly fly to Turkey TDY.

Coronavirus Spreads in Italy – 40 Confirmed Cases – 50,000 People under Quarantine in Lombardy Region — “Index Person” Shows NO SIGN of Illness

In the last 48 hours the number of cases of coronavirus in the Lombardy region in Italy has grown from six to over 40 victims of the virus.

The Lombardy region of Italy is now under voluntary quarantine. The Carnival (Mardi Gras) celebrations were cancelled in the area.

Five of the victims are doctors and nurses.

The “index person” who flew back to the region in late January from China still shows NO SIGNS of the deadly virus. Despite this the virus has spread to at least 40 people.

Conservative politician Matteo Salvini has called for Italy to close its borders.

Matteo Salvini: (translated) A prayer for the first Italian victim of #Coronavirus the and a thought to his family. Maybe now someone will have understood that it is necessary to close, control, armor, block, protect? #coronavirusitalIa

The coronavirus arrived in Italy. There are forty confirmed cases of infection, thirty-two of them located in the region of Lombardy, while the rest are located in other regions such as Veneto. One of the latter, a 78-year-old man, has died in Padua . In addition, this morning has confirmed the death of a woman in Lombardy. The Government called for calm, underlining that panic should not spread. But the leader of the League, Matteo Salvini, asked the Executive to “close the confines” and assess the suspension of Schengen, the European Union treaty that abolished border controls.

The alarm has been like an unforeseen storm in a serene sky. Until the early hours of the afternoon the infected were only six in Lombardy. Shortly after, fifteen cases were confirmed, in total, in Lombardy – five of them are doctors and nurses – and two others in Padua (Veneto). This morning it was twenty-six. The governor of this region, Luca Zaia , has confirmed that these are two Italian elders of Vò Euganeo, hospitalized in Padua, one of them was in critical condition and finally died last night.

The first alarm was triggered in Lombardy, when an employee of the multinational Unilever de Casalpusterlengo (Lodi), Mattia YM, 38, who is in serious conditions in intensive care at the hospital of Codogno, municipality of 15,600 inhabitants in the province of Lodi (Lombardy). Among those infected is also his wife, an eight-month pregnant teacher, and a friend of the infected Unilever with whom he shared sports activities. Mattia YM, originally from Castiglione d’Adda, a town of 4,700 inhabitants in the province of Lodi (Lombardy), had appeared on February 15 in the emergency department of Codogno hospital, complaining of respiratory problems, but was soon sent home.

Then he had a sudden worsening and was hospitalized again in Codogno last Wednesday, day 19, being positive in the coronavirus test. In this hospital three people have been infected. When establishing the contagion chain, it became known that Mattia, the ” zero patient “, had met a colleague who had returned from China on January 21, the alleged “index case”, a manager of the MAE company based in Fiorenzuola d ‘Arda, municipality of the province of Piacenza, in the Emilia-Romagna region, who at the moment has been negative, although now it is isolated and quarantined.

Emergency measures have been taken immediately. In principle, about 250 people were isolated for analysis, including 160 employees of the multinational Uniliver, companions of Mattia YM All of them will remain in quarantine for fourteen days. In the early afternoon, the Minister of Health of Lombardy asked that, as a precaution, the inhabitants of the three villages related to infected people (Castiglione d’Adda, Casalpusterlengo and Codogno, the latter town where trains do not stop) remain in their homes, “in voluntary quarantine.” Then the measure was extended to a total of ten villages in the Lombardy region, one in Veneto and one in Emilia-Romagna. In those municipalities, schools, bars, restaurants, offices, sports facilities have been closed until Tuesday and the carnival has been suspended.

According to this report, they don't know how the two people in the Veneto area caught the virus because they hadn't had any contact with the people in Lodi. I'd say that the avian 'flu put a stop to those exotic birds being sold in the market. Five of those with the infection are health workers. https://canoe.com/news/world/corona...n-northern-italy-16-cases-reported-in-one-day

Please God they all will recover soon.

Some reports say that a number of towns in Lombardy are in lockdown but the only towns named are Lodi and Codogno. Lodi is only half an hour's drive from Milan and Codogno, the town in the German TV report, is 45 minutes from Milan. It's a big deal in Italy to cancel football matches although it seems to be for the lower leagues. There's no report that Inter or AC Milan's matches have been cancelled.

Did you like living in Italy? It's a beautiful country.

This is truly unbelievable! It has already been confirmed over a week ago that the incubation period before symptoms appear is between 21-24 days. Why on earth is quarantine limited to 14 days!? It has also been reported that some Americans from the cruise ship in Japan were flown home without notifying other persons on the flight to take necessary precautions! It makes one's head spin!

I just don't understand such misinformation continuing to be used for the basis of prevention!

  8. If this is still ongoing....wondering what the next headline will be?: The Venice Carnival: February 8- 25 2020

I had lived a year near Pisa in Tuscany in my early twenties also. That's the real classical region....Florence, etc. The Veneto and further north is very different. The furthest north region, into the Alps, used to be part of Austria and those years ago, before the errors of the EU, you saw the Austrian flag still flown and only language accepted...say at gas stations for instance....was German! And the northerners didn't trust Rome and schemed of ways not to pay taxes to what they considered to be a $$ sinkhole. Sound familiar? So glove factories, etc., simply "didn't exist"! And that road from the autostrada....Verona to Padua to Venice....was a big drug route! And lots of gold factories where often one could hear the sirens going off! Due to the pollution in the Po Valley you didn't realize how close you were to the Alps/Dolomites until a storm blew through and then they looked like they were in your backyard!

It's too late to cancel the Venice carnival.

I traveled from Austria (near Salzburg) to Rome. It was many years ago and we were on a tour bus, travelling at night. From what I heard afterwards it was as well we traveled at night because I would have been terrified had I been able to see out the window of the bus. A few years ago I went to see the Holy Shroud in Turin. I had to fly into Milan and take the train from there to Turin. The train station in Milan is a lovely old building but I was very glad to get out of it. The lake district of Northern Italy is a popular upmarket holiday venue now. I'm told it's beautiful there. Although I was only in Padua long enough to visit St. Anthony's shrine and didn't really see much of the town, I liked it better than Venice. I've heard that Florence is stunning.

There's nothing in the reports to say how much notice people got before the shops were ordered to close. I reckon we had better stock up on enough food to see us through two or three weeks in case the virus comes here and a lockdown comes at short notice. Other than that, all we can do is pray and, as AED said, get Confession and go to Mass and Adorations.

Unilever is a huge multinational consumer goods corporation. It sells food! Hmmmm.
We have it here in the States, but it is multinational. Supply chain?
Unilever was mentioned in ETA’s article above.

it came to my mind that if the disease were to spread across Italy, Pope Francis himself would be at risk for belonging to the vulnerable group for being elderly, and for having only one lung, and I remembered Benedict XVI too.

I think they own a lot of companies across the world, all still carrying their original brand names. Not just food companies. I'm pretty sure that most of the household names of other goods like detergent are also part of the Unilever giant.

  16. And the first suspect in the Veneto was back at end of Jan???

    Coronavirus, suspect case in Veneto
    1/30/2020, 7:49:07 PM

January 31, 202001.37 Coronavirus, first suspected case in Veneto. A minor who returned with her mother from a trip to China has suffered from flu symptoms. The Gazzettino reports that the boy was sent by his pediatrician to the Treviso hospital where the doctors performed a swab which they sent for analysis to Spallanzani in Rome. The boy, residing in the Treviso area, was discharged the obligation to remain 'armored' inside the house, avoiding contact with family members as much as possible.

Thanks for proving my point. The data you cited from Zero Hedge illustrates my contention that for some as yet unknown reason (some say experiment gone, some a targeted bioweapon) Coronavirus clearly kills persons of East Asian genetic stock at unnatural rates while being no more deadly than the common flu to persons not of East-Asian extraction.

    (Daniel O'Connor's Blog)

A portion: (but be sure to read the entire article....much more!!)
........Seeing that Italy is now seriously involved in this potential pandemic immediately inspired me to see what Luisa’s writings had to say, if anything, about this. And indeed they did have things to say.

On December 29, 2019, the first cases of Coronavirus were officially identified. Two days later, the outbreak in Wuhan was formally announced. But exactly 93 years earlier (to the day), we read the following in that day’s entry in the diary of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta:

…[Jesus said:] “This Sun is my Will – hold It tightly, never let It escape you, for It has the power to convert you and all your acts – everything, into light, in such a way as to incorporate you completely into It, forming one single Sun.” Then, afterwards, I was thinking about everything that my sweet Jesus had done in His coming upon earth for the Redemption, so as to unite myself to His acts and ask Him, for love of His own acts, to make His Will known in order to let It reign. … [and Jesus said:] “See then, how much this Kingdom of my Will cost; with how much love I developed It within Me. Therefore, this Kingdom exists – there is nothing left but to make It known, so as to let all the goods It contains go out into the field. …” After this, my sweet Jesus escaped me like a flash, and I wanted to follow Him, but, to my highest bitterness, in that flash I saw that contagious diseases were to come, which will spread almost in all nations, not excluding our Italy. It seemed that many were dying of it, to the extent of depopulating homes. In several nations the scourge would rage more strongly, but almost all of them will be touched. It seems that they hold hands in offending the Lord, and Our Lord touches everyone with the same scourges…
