I have strongly commended the book 'Trial, Tribulation and Triumph' in another thread and am glad to note that I am not the only one to have read it. I thought that a new thread relating to this book and any others worth reading on the same subject might be appropriate and useful. The writer of the book reaches the very reliably grounded conclusion that much prophecy written throughout the ages actually relates to OUR day and to the times soon to be upon us and that these prophecies can be merged and formed into a fairly detailed timeline of events up to the 'era of peace' promised by Our Lady at Fatima and then beyond it to the time of the Anti-Christ. (Let me assure anyone considering acquiring the book that it is in total conformity with the Magisterium and the Catechism. The first thing that the writer does is to warn of the dangers of modernist interpretation of Scripture and to explain how 'modernism' came to infect some of the theological thinking in the Church and so the seminary teaching and thus the beliefs and teachings of some of our priests and bishops and their rejection of prophecy/apparitions.) The writer explains how his belief in prophecy developed and draws together dozens of approved prophecies, from the Church Fathers to the modern day which are startlingly similar. He was given access to the Vatican library and translated some documents for the first time from their original languages. As he uses only Church approved sources, he has nothing to say about Garabandal or Medjugorje but it is not difficult to weave information from those apparitions into the conclusions. Very similar but briefer sources/information and opinions are also recorded in the much shorter book 'Catholic Prophecy - The Coming Chastisement' by Yves Dupont which can be read free online at: http://archive.org/stream/CatholicProphecy#page/n9/mode/1up The author of this work has himself been responsible for accurate prophecies relating to the German invasion of France during WWII and about some of the less happy results of Vatican II. I cannot establish whether or not the writer of this book is still alive but as he was born in 1922, it is possible that he is not. Any other recommendations? Comments on the books above? Etc. let's share them, this is important stuff.
Yes Steve...I've read the book and it makes for a facinating read. His time line seems to be the most likely of scenario's yet it does leave a little room for different scenario's to play out. I found that the Ark of the Covenant being on Mt Nebo most compelling. Just think...in the skeem of Divine Provedance God has permitted the Catholic Church as overseer of this holy site. As a Catholic Monastery (and yes...Pope Benedict the 16th did visit Mt Nebo) is actively at residence on Mt Nebo. Just think...protestants and Jews would have a cow knowing Catholics where in possession of the Ark of the Covenant. I see it fitting since we have His Son in our midst through the most sacred Eucharist. It is conforting to know that God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the Blessed Mother are all at home in the Catholic Church... what a glorious previledge! No other religion or Church can make this claim, Glory to God! Also, I say... watch what happens with Benedicts pontificate...this is the key ( Didn't Peter always hold the key to earth and heaven?) This trial that we (the Church) may face may indeed erupt immediately upon his death. It has been said that wherever the miracle occurs the reigning pope will see it from wherever he is. I must go...will confer later. Godbless!
Hello Steve D...something that comes to mind in prophecy. It is related to the prophecies concerning the pope. (I'm sorry if I keep harping on the pope but the Spirit tells me that He did not bring the Church thus far to abandon Peter to the storm on the lake) Do you believe St Malachy and his prophecies concerning the pope...and if you do believe...then I believe it may be Benedict who see's "the Miracle". What are your thoughts if I might ask (noting of course that he is 84 years old)...
Hi Timothius, I have never really been very persuaded about the 'St. Malachy prophecy'. I don't think that there is much evidence for it and, I note that the writer of 'Trial, Tribulation and Triumph' makes no reference to it - I am sure that he would have checked it out. I think that the divisions in the Church will reach a critical point resulting in schism when Pope Benedict dies. The 'modernists' are becoming more and more angry and demanding. I believe that the election of yet another Pope who re-affirms Catholic truth will be too much for them and they will go into open rebellion. Dramatic events may occur politically while the Pope is still alive but I tend to think (without any solid reason for it) that his death will somehow be a watershed in both the Church and world events. I have read somewhere recently (possibly on this forum, if so apologies for repetition and lack of attribution to whoever) that a Pope will declare Our Lady to be Mediatrix of All Graces and that this will be the 'watershed' event in the Church. If it happens, I would agree that the modernists are likely to scream defiance and go. The Akita messages includes a warning that 'bishop will oppose bishop and cardinal will oppose cardinal' and that those who revere Our Lady will be mocked, we seem to be very near that point in the Church.
I do know that Iveta of the Island of Goa is seeing our Lady Mediatrix of all Grace in India and thousands are coming, including priests.
Thanks for that. When I was looking for material on that apparition (don't ask me how), I came across something that was new to me but may be known to you - Emma De Guzman who is a prophet, healer and stigmatist. Now, I do not claim to be very spiritually aware when it comes to others BUT this lady is so humble, sweet and sincere that listening to her brought tears to my eyes (and that doesn't happen very often). She is a little Filipina lady who has apparitions of Our Lord, Our Lady and some saints and has impressed many priests and laypeople. There are loads of Youtube videos about her, here is one (make sure that you have a handkerchief !)
Hi Steve D and padraig...I think St Malachies prophecies are simply "roadsigns". St Malachy merely gives roadsigns as to who the future pontif may be. All be... his prophecies can be obscure to be sure...but his prophecies are meant to send us in the general location and not to a specific point. Steve D...if you look at page 307...you can see Birch does not discount Malachy outright but at least credits him with some prophecy. I would contend that Malachies prophecies may well be worth considering ...though we have only a few years to know its credibility. I think your right about Benedict...my gut feeling is that the " liberal, progressive and ultra conservative churchmen" are indeed readied to strike the church with unholy division on the death of Benedict. Mark Mallett has been acutely astute to articulate how our own Popes have warned us. Padraig...let us hope and pray this comes about. Thankyou for the post on Emma...miracles are indeed not dead.
http://www.christusrex.org/www1/apparitions/http:/pr00059.htm Sister Elena Aiello speaks: "Oh, what a horrible vision I see! A great revolution is going on in Rome! They are entering the Vatican. The Pope is all alone; he is praying. They are holding the Pope. They take him by force. They knock him down on the floor. They are tying him. Oh God! Oh God! They are kicking him. What a horrible scene! How dreadful! "Our Blessed Mother is drawing near. Like corpses those evil men fall down to the floor. Our Lady helps the Pope to his feet and, taking him by the arm, she covers him with ehr mantle saying: "Fear not!" "Flagstaffs (flying the Red Flag over St. Peter's dome and elsewhere) collapse, and power is gone out of the clubs of those evil brutes. These atheists are ever shouting: 'We don't want God to rule over us; we want Satan to be our master!'" Our Blessed Mother speaks again: "My daughter, Rome will not be saved, because the Itailian rulers have forsaken the Divine Light and because only a few people really love the Church. But the day is not far off when all the wicked shall perish, under the tremendous blows of Divine Justice
I ran across this interview with a Father Kramer which was in the Fatima Crusader concerning the 3rd secret of Fatima. I've never heard of the stigmatist that they mention Antonio Ruffini and the full 3rd secret of Fatima being revealed by the Pope not after JPII but the one after him. It appears to be a very thoughtful and informative article. But I'd be interested to know if anyone had any insight into this information concerning the 3rd secret. It's at http://www.catholictradition.org/Mary/fatima40.htm God Bless!
I sometimes wonder if the problem with the Third Secret isn't that the Church kept stuff back but that the secret was misinterpreted. I don't think, for intsance that the Pope in White mentioned was JP2 but a future Pope. The one Blessed Elena Aiellio refers to. The one driven from Rome. This was MISIONERO ANTONIO RUFFINi .He is a stigmatist , Our Lady appeared to him back in 1951 in Cisterna, Italy, I think as ,'Our Lady of the Poor'. He died in 1993 '. 'Un misionero con los estigmas, no muy conocido, pero muy humilde de verdad. Un hombre sencillo que jamás hubiera pensado que habría recibido un signo así de grande. Su experiencia inicia el 12 de agosto de 1951, a la edad de 44 años. Era un representante de comercio y estaba regresando a casa después del trabajo. Siente la necesidad de beber. "¡Extraño!", piensa. "No he comido nada de salado". A missionary with the stigmata, not well known, but very humble indeed. A simple man who never would have thought that would have been a sign that big. Your experience begins August 12, 1951, at the age of 44 years. It was a trade representative and was returning home after work. Feel the need to drink. "Bizarre," he thinks. "I have not eaten anything salty." "Where do you drink if there is no water?" The more he continued on his way, but increased thirst. He sees a car parked outside and decide to approach series. That car owners were playing with his dog, when a child, poor dress, comes over and asks for a piece of bread. They ask you to go annoying. Then Ruffini calls the child and gives hands on everything he had, thirty lire. Resumes its path and increases thirst; finally see a fountain and a few steps away sees a woman. He asks if the water is drinkable, says if and stoops to drink. "I put my lips to the source (account during an interview with Anna Maria Turi) but, strangely, before drinking, thirst was gone. At the same time, I was impressed because I saw in my hands than water turned red, red of blood. " Then the woman asked what was happening and began to talk about Jesus Christ and the Apostles. Spend a little time and the stigmata appear on the feet and side. Ruffini's mission takes place in Africa, specifically in Ghana. Visit the villages, baptizes children and heals the sick with medicine that he prepares. The prepared guided by instinct, something inside told him how to do. What is surprising is that he understands the language and speak it well. Back to Italy and decided to enter the Franciscan order. Even Pope Paul VI, after having been recognized as authentic. Ruffini died on July 31, 1993 of old age with serenity, the same calm that had accompanied him throughout life.
Padraig...thankyou on that vision by Aiello...it sort of makes me wonder if this scenario is plausable in the immediate future. Benedict is 84 years of age...and SteveD suggested the warning and miracle could plausibly occur around the 2016/2017 timeframe. Perhaps Benedict is the pope in the vision. We have around 3 years till 2016. It seems as if a global economic disaster could presipitate evil men to launch thier evil plans of revolution against the pontif and the Church in general.
I'm grateful to you Bernadette for introducing the topic of the third secret of Fatima. It's a topic which fascinated me trying to get to the bottom of a couple of years back. The article you refer i realize is one of those i came across. I also recall where further reading off the links that the Fatima Crusader provided led me. Dangerous ground i now realize. To provide a 'flavour' of the danger i had the idea of doing an internet search on Fr Kramer. The article i found will do as good as any other. Be sure to look at some of the many comments that this Mark Shea NCRegister blog attracted. " So some organization called Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice was going to hold some conference in England on June 18. They invited Cardinal Raymond Burke, one of the most ardent champions of orthodox Catholic teaching and worship to speak at the conference. He kindly agreed to do so. Then, somebody apparently pointed out to the cardinal that the group spent a lot of time fomenting reactionary dissent. So he bailed. Does that make everything the English bishops do peachy? No. But it did send a clear message that the healthy response to problem bishops is not to foment reactionary dissent. Response: The conference organizers, either in complete and utter ignorance or sheer stupidity, decided to invite Fr. Paul Kramer and Robert Sungenis to speak in his place, thereby confirming the wisdom of Burke’s decision to get out while the getting was good. When you start referring to Yves Dupont, you open the door to sedevacantism, which depresses the heck out of me. The sedevacantists use his book and his Vatican II commentary to come to these conclusions: -Chastisement was in 1958 when an alleged freemason usurped the papacy (supposedly John XXIII). -The new mass was an intentional destruction -And that Paul VI was also anti-pope freemason -And that Paul VI changes to ordination of bishops made it invalid -Therefore ALL bishops ordained since then have been invalid, and all priests ordained by those bishops are also invalid That would mean most of us would not have the true sacraments (eucharist, reconciliation, etc.) at ANY of our parishes! The thought of ANY of those ideas makes me ANGRY. I did not read his entire book yet, but I scanned and did find some of the lamentations about Vatican II, but I also found where Yves Dupont spoke well of John XXIII. So I suppose the sedevacantists are maybe seeing what they want to see.... -
Interesting and good to know. You know once you start trying to research all of these prophecies and they lead you to another site you can get so distracted. I always try to take the good and move on. But I have to remind myself to get off the computer and start praying where it might actually help! I have also found it very difficult to fast in the past because I get such horrible headaches if I don't eat all day. I now try to fast every day of the work week and I fast all day until dinner. So hopefully God will accept that as a a type of fast. God Bless!
So wise, Bernadette. We are not some kind of Indianna Jones, seeking some secret solultion but Praying the rosary Convertiing ..and believing the Good News
Personally speaking, Mark Shea may be on EWTN but he also is adamantly against Medjugorje and makes fun of those who are into listening to our Lady and pilgrimaging to different apparition sites. I personally wouldn't bother reading him. He doesn't do his research and he makes fun of people who think the Govt. is into nefarious works. He sadly has never met anyone in the military who has been poisoned or lied to. He needs to get out more and look beyond the status quo. Just my 2 cents...
