Hopefully there will be a media backlash. SF are often described as being George Soros's party. SF seem to be constantly pushing his agendas.

The last government brought in the Childrens' Amendment, Same-Sex 'Marriage', took €20,000,000 from the disabled to give it to the crooks in the FAI and, worst of all, repealed the Eighth and legislated for a vicious abortion regime. I'd say George Soros could take tips from them. Whatever, SF should have an easy ride-all their work has been done for them.

Ah, you're right. It's just going from the frying pan into the fire, but there is a transient boost seeing people face Nemesis.

It's called proportional representation. It's hugely complex, but there are always party officers who can make accurate predictions at a quick glance at the figures.

I agree. These days, bringing truth to hearts requires playing the game to some extent.

Abortion is not the fundamental issue among nearly enough people to take any other approach, unfortunately.

    Yes, i agree completely..
They're taking the dough from Soros - on some level, and pushing that awful agenda.
What has irish unity got to do with the butchering of babies!?
Be very, very wary of the Shinners!

I can see the gleam in Mary Lou's eye. She's very, very ambitious. I can see she sees herself as the first woman Taoiseach, and the first Taoiseach of the whole island of Ireland.

She hasn't, unlike Clinton, done anything to deserve that judgement yet. I would be prepared to give her a chance. At the moment her party is a lightning conductor for the anger of many being directed against a government that has shown itself utterly unable, or unwilling, to address various crises in multiple sectors of society. It is futile to condemn her party for its vile agenda considering that every single party in the Republic within a million miles of government shares that agenda.

There is one other point. Circumstances have brought us closer than ever to a United Ireland. Such an event would bring the DUP into this new politic. This would change the political dynamic considerably in terms of social issues, among others. Sinn Fein would be the most plausible party to engineer this event, having power on both sides of the border. I also think SF are less a puppet of Brussels than Fianna Fail and Fine Gael who simply ask 'how high' when asked to jump.

On economic issues, SF in Stormont have shown discipline and sanity. They don't seem to be Marxist lunatics. I would think us no worse off than before, which is not of course a very good place. We're in the gutter now, but if I had a DUP candidate to vote for in my constituency...

I used to worry about this. Really, I still do. However, all our main parties are killers now. We're getting the politicians we deserve. Anyway, what you highlight is nothing that the American secret services don't do routinely. Barbaric as all these things are, they pale against the murder, often by unspeakable unaesthetised embryotomy, of innocent babies. We mustn't forget that polite, genteel Western society is that society which has become the most evil ever, worse than Stalin, worse than the Nazis. To paraphrase our pope, of all people, it promotes assassins in white gloves, industrially butchering the most innocent to the degree that abortion outweighs all other causes of human mortality. In this context, I think it is disproportionate to lend greater, or even equal, weight to the kind of thuggery you feature. That murder is committed by 'nice' people in hidden, clinical surroundings doesn't make it any less evil. On the contrary. To me, Simon Harris is a far more wicked man than that Sinner (and I've never voted for them and won't consider that in the future unless they change their abortion policies) and has far more blood on his hands. Unfortunately, we are left with nothing but a political choice between the devil and the deep blue sea in terms of electing to power. Having decided to only vote for pro-life candidates, I have no influence on who gains power. If I was to change that and vote for abortionist parties, I see absolutely no moral difference between any of them. Killing is killing and they're all for it.

I politely disagree sur, Sinn Fein are given a budget in Stormont from the British government. They merely adminster it. They shirked all real and major decisions, plunging the North into financial disarray.
They didn't take their seats for the past number of years, bringing the country practically to its knees; as a public servant my wages suffered. Health care suffered. Roads. Education (- they abolished the 11Plus - but didn't replace it with anything, leaving 3 of my kids over a 10 year period, like all other kids here in the North, having to take much less governed Transfer tests). In fact in every arena, life suffered: all because Sinn Fein didn't get their phony Irish Language Act.

That link is but a taste of sinn fein capabilities - not to mention the Paul Quinn murder, and subsequent cover-up - where Mary Lou insisted on backing her party colleague, Conor Murphy, - who in typical fashion somehow tried to justify the brutal murder of that young man (who happened to stand against IRA thugs in South Armagh!)

    There were many murders.
    There is much shady behaviour.

Sinn Fein have beaten and battered their way thru the North, and 'the South is next'...

They are in bed with the media. They are taking money from somewhere, to push their agenda - i mean why was the introduction of abortion and gay marriage into Northern Ireland part of an Irish Language Act!!!???!!!!
    Seriously!!!!!

They bullied and harried the church in the North for years.

And backed by the leftist media in the North they harried and out maneuvered the Unionist politicians - who tried to hold off abortion here.
Unlike the South, the North didn't vote FOR abortion, the Sinners, the media and those shadowy figures supporting both - engineered its introduction here by colluding with the British government for it to be stealthily brought-in.

Sinn Fein should be tried for treason. (As should many of the Southern politicians...)

When their canvassers come round to our house at election time, my wife and neighbours are horrified when i chase them off my property (because of their role in trying to introduce the killing of babies) and they tell me i should be worried because they (sinn fein) will send the 'boys with bats round to teach me'.
That's the perception of sinn fein on the street here in the North. And the South have embraced this with open arms, dear God help us....

'Little Hilary' sounds about right to me.
I apologise for the tone of this reply, it is not my intention to be terse, its just that i am particularly passionate about the awfulness of Sinn Fein and their agenda. We have had them for years here in the North. They are anti-church and have scoffed at the faith for years.

Lets hope you're right, and it is a protest vote. That said, i agree that the mainstream parties in the South are so very very corrupt.

I'm hoping that out of all this mess that people will wake up.
This vote was a protest vote against the traditional power block of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael. There was really no other viable power block available.
Fianna Fáil in particular have to do some soul searching. This should have been their election but there was no discernable difference between them and Fine Gael. There has been unhappiness in the ranks with Michael Martin supporting Fine Gael policies including abortion. In fact the party wanted to declare themselves as pro life some time ago but were overridden by Michael Martin and his cronies.
    Interesting times ahead

Nothing like a bit of local knowledge. You say you hope I'm right, but I'm speaking from a position of relative ignorance, whereas you're at the coalface. It's a case of 'abandon all hope ye who enter here', it seems. It's hard not to wish a plague on the lot of 'em. Thank you for taking so much trouble to put me clear on this. Things have got so twisted that when I see the mainstream media opposing them, I begin to imagine this might be a point in their favour, but it would now appear that this is that rare occurrence where the media actually is spouting the truth.

I heard this morning that our newly elected Sinner will have to invest in an alarm clock, as he's never been up out of bed a day in his life before 11am! Also, he's rumoured to have never worked in his life. If this is the standard of TD, they won't last and will prove to be nothing other than a protest vote. Our local TD's in Tipperary are hard-working and are expected to deliver. The same will be expected of the Sinners. I assume this applies to the great majority of other constituencies.
