This is exactly what I tell myself when I get upset about the whole sad mess (which sometimes is more than once in a day)... that it’s God’s Church, He’s permitting all this for a good reason, and He’ll clean house when it’s time. I just hope it’s soon!
Yes. I keep going back , and back again to the words of Padre Pio, pray hope and don't worry. We just need patience and hope. God has His reasons.
Maybe things have to bottom out before they take flight. If it is like that with individual souls maybe it is for the entire Church.
This is not a cop-out. It’s a healthy realization of the nature of the problem. Pray, hope, and don’t worry. I often think of the expression “it is what it is” So we make the best of a very bad situation by letting go and letting God. It is indeed His Church.
Beisdes prayer and fasting there is not a lot we can do anyway. We could complain or petition but that would be a bit like asking a Bank Robber to put the money back. Itain't goona happen. I susepct the come back, the fix, will come from the miracl and Illumination of Conscience. The problemis endemic, its not a single person.
I hope you and yours are all well ,Terry. I was just thinking of you there now. Praying for you all to have a truly grace filled Christmas.
Hi Indy, there is an enmity which seems to exist between us and many of these people. I have found it to be the case in my own life with people who are particularly devoted to the LGBT movement and also with people who advocate for abortion. Abortion being the underlying factor more so than anything else. It more than likely has something to do with Our Lady's plan.
Yes. It has to be fought on the spiritual level at this point. The heavenlies are full of clashing armies I'm betting. Just the increased vandalism against statues of Our Lady (started with the shock of Notre Dame) tells me we are in a new chapter. What a time to be down with the flu. My husband and I are both fighting our way back. This area has been hit hard. Had to miss Mass yesterday and Holy Hour on Sat. And today. Hopefully I will have turned a corner by tomorrow. Hard to pray when sick.
I am sorry to hear this. Prayers to St Raphael. It is certainly the time of years when bugs rule supreme. I heard on the radio them talking about the flu this morning. The yearly epidemic must have kicked off.
I am so sorry AED to hear this. Saying some prayers today for you both. Cold and flu season is upon us. We had a choir member come in sick with strep this past Saturday. Her mom forced her to come to practice. We had to call and tell her to keep her child home Sunday because the chance of the rest of the choir getting sick will increase. But the flu sucks so much worse. Prayers for you guys that you will move through this fast.
Thankyou so much everyone. We are grateful for the prayers. My husband was hit really hard. High fever and the whole flu thing. I got a lighter version thanks be to God. He is usually the healthy one. I have asthma so a respiratory flu is no joke for me but God is good. Both on tamiflu and it does seem to be working. I am grateful it will be over before Christmas. I hope. Tanker my granddaughter had strep. My DIL had to go to school and take her out. Strep is so contagious and dangerous if untreated. Glad you were able to send her on her way. I pray/hope no one else gets it. One big blessing here. No snow! What a break. For now. Pretty sure it wont last. Again thanks for all the prayers!!!
St Peter has a wonderful word on this: He reminds us also that one day there will be a Reckoning. I wish more people understood that there will be a reckoning and that hell is a reality and many , many souls go there. It they had we might not be in the fix we are in. Notice also that the first Pope Refers to the very same fire spoken off at Akita. He also speaks of God being patient hoping to save as many as He can from their sins. 2 Peter 3:8 The Day of the Lord …7And by that same word, the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. 8Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.…
Media personality Shawn Hannity just announced he is leaving the Catholic church. The institutional corruption runs too deep with no effort to address it he says. If it were ONLY an institution then okay. But he clearly misses the Mystical Body of Christ. The only way by which men may be saved. This is scary. No supernatural outlook. Is this the first brick out of the wall? Whose next?
Oh dear, you and your husband have my sympathy. Even with the flu shot people are still getting sick. No fun to be sick before the holidays when there is so much to be done. Hope you are both feeling better.
Thanks Jo. We both had the shot--the reinforced one for older people. It was of no use to my husband who got seriously I'll but I got off easy. Far less afflicted so who knows? We are both feeling much better. But I'm giving it a few extra days before I start normal life again.
