I know its very depressing considering the Pope Francis thing. But it's a bit like crossing the road in heavy traffic; we have to pay it some little attention in case we get flattened by a truck.
No wonder Malachi Martin said it would test the faith of a St Catharine of Siena. He said one must get down on our knees and pray and plead to be spared because such a time as this could shred our faith. We are in the midst of a spiritual storm of such magnitude it boggles the mind. If we feel this way can you imagine how good and faithful priests and bishops feel.
I think one thing about traveling the Spiritual Life for a ways is that when we come face to face with true total evil for what it is; the Diabolic. But if you don't believe there is such a thing as True Evil it could be right in front of you and you just wouldn't see it for what it is: Vladimir Soloviev, in his work The Antichrist, understood that the spirit of Antichrist would become more manifest in the 21st century and describes the Man of iniquity thusly, "...he loved only himself. He believed in God, but at the bottom of his heart unconsciously and instinctively preferred himself to Him. There's no need to be nice and kind to true Evil when you meet it. You just take out the Sword of Truth and Fight it. Being nice to it or about it is the purest insanity. I am afraid our poor Church has long forgotten it. But we will relearn the lessons of a most bitter and very glorious past. That it is the Blood of the Martyrs that is the Seed of the Church.

There have been martyrs and priests going in hiding during this era. And there will be more. Our job is to pray, pray, pray - so a Nineveh occurs again.
Truly, Pope Francis is playing his part in salvation history at the end of the age as we know it. As Jesus prayed and wept at the feet of Judas just hours before he gave the Lord up to the soldiers, I will continue to hope and pray that PF not take the path Judas did and he repents, as many of us have for our own sins, which we have found forgiveness in. As Father John Hardon once said in retreat: "I have sinned sufficient enough in my life to know without the mercy of God I would not make it to heaven". If we don't show mercy to Pope Francis God will not show mercy to us.
At the end of the day it is up to God Himself to show Mercy or not to show Mercy to Pope Francis. None of us have the power to consign the man to hell. Judas too played his part in Salvation History, although Jesus Himself called Him, 'The Son of Perdtion'. There is nothing at all to stop any of praying for the poor man. If grace is, as it appears to be bouncing like water of a duck's back in his case, no doubt it will do good somewhere else it is needed. Prayer is never a waste of time. Even if we wanted to pray for Judas, I suppose there is nothing stopping us. But I wouldn't go holding my breath.
Its very true that we are coming face to face with true evil. I need prayers, a lesbian who is married to a woman just joined my team at work. I interviewed her and and agreed to hire her. Initially I though she was very nice. Now she is going straight for my jugular, painting me as right wing, tin foil had, the word Texas was just mentioned by her. This could be a very dangerous situation for me. That is what I sense. I am not sure how t handle it. Sorry, don't want to derail this thread, but I feel I have just come face to face with true evil and its using her to deliver a serious blow to be. Apart from mentioning how I feel about free speech being taken away In Ireland, I have given no indication that I have anything against her. I did mention I have issues with political correctness, before I knew she was a married lesbian. Anyway, a few prayers would be appreciated.
Wow! Praying tonight. You have my sympathy. Prayers. One time this kind of thing happened to be in work and I got Blessed Salt ad scattered it around the area were she worked and this fixed it. This is clearly demonic.
On it Indy. In my Rosary tonight. Also pray St Patrick's prayer of protection first thing in the morning and again at night. Same thing with St Michael prayer. In the psalms David often prays for God to turn back on his enemies the malice and traps they have set for him. I was taught to do this by a very Holy woman--saint IMO--who told me to send in Jesus's Name all the malice and evil intent back upon the one sending it. It was a powerful prayer. I never forgot. I'll look up the psalm and post it.
Your prayers are greatly appreciated and I know will have great affect. To be honest, something kind of like this happened to me 10 years ago. I hope I am much better equipped now to deal with it now. Being a member of the Auxilium Christianorum, the Rosary Confraternity and a daily Rosary Prayer must help. But I guess a major attack was inevitable. This I hope to survive it better than 10 years ago. That was so bad back then, I suffered greatly, nearly life threatening. But it brought me so much closer to God and to this forum I guess a prayer for the girl at work would be no harm either. I do see a nice side to her. Thanks again.
