St Nilus is a perfectly respectable saint, but I'm not so sure about the prophesy attributed to him that is referred to by Mark Mallett.

The danger is that it might be a recent creation attributed to the saint, given that it displays uncanny prescience. It would be reassuring to see evidence of documentation from centuries ago. Of course, I'm sure Mark Mallett used it in good faith, but it would be best to ensure such prophecies are Church-approved.

Archbishop Vigano Condemns Vienna Cathedral Pro-LGBT Concert as ‘Blasphemous’
    01/12/2019 Edward Pentin https://edwardpentin.co.uk/archbish...na-cathedral-pro-lgbt-concert-as-blasphemous/

In response to a pro-LGBT concert last night in St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, Archbishop Carlo Vigano has said the event was a sacrilege and a consequence of idolatry that “darkens the mind and perverts judgement.”

In a message to Alexander Tschugguel, one of the founders of the St. Boniface Institute who led a rosary outside the cathedral while the event was taking place, Archbishop Vigano noted that “once again” Vienna suffers from “yet another homoerotic and blasphemous provocation.”

The cathedral was used Nov. 30 to stage a ‘Believe Together’ concert, hosted by an association called LIFE+ and which marked World AIDS Day. Among the performers in the cathedral was Thomas Neuwirth [aka drag queen ‘Conchita Wurst’] who performed under his new pseudonym ‘WURST.’

Drag singer ‘Wurst’ performed in the “Believe Together” concert in the cathedral. He also featured in last year’s concert.
“Gay activists, transvestites and transsexuals perform on the Cathedra of St. Stephen,” the archbishop said, “when instead they should receive from the Catholic Church the proclamation of Christ’s liberating Truth and the gift of his saving Love, freely offered to all those who, from the depths of their wounds and repentance, dare to acknowledge their need for salvation.”

But he added that the “enormity of the scandals will never diminish the Lord’s power” and therefore “we have no reason to lose courage or confidence.”

“I join with all my heart the little flock, who are perhaps without a Shepherd but are called to gather in the Heart of the Immaculata to implore from her, through the reparative prayer of the Holy Rosary, God’s forgiveness for the offenses and outrages that have been perpetrated,” he said.

“We wish to redouble our faith and tirelessly implore the Immaculate Mother of God and our true Mother” to help the faithful “persevere in the faith,” Archbishop Vigano added, and closed with St. Bernard’s words of encouragement underlining how necessary the Lord’s grace is in the face of man’s sinful nature.

Tschugguel gained global attention in October when he seized four “Pachamama” statuettes from a church in Rome and threw them into the Tiber. He and many others believed the statuettes, which made frequent appearances during the month-long synod, were being worshipped as pagan idols.

The Vatican claimed they were simply Amazonian objects signifying life and fertility, but was unwilling to offer more details.

    ***

    Dear Alexander,

Dear faithful gathered in prayer for the recitation of the Rosary outside the Cathedral of St. Stephan in Vienna,

May the Lord Jesus and the Virgin Mary be with you!

We have seen idolatry penetrate the Temple of God and lay claim to the worship due exclusively to the living and true God.

Several small statues, identified as the Pachamama idol, were carried in procession.

Dear Alexander remembered the warning of the jealous God — jealous because He is the “Friend of man,” who is jealous for his eternal truth and his glorious destiny.

This warning echoes in the pages of the revealed Scripture, which should fill us all with sacred trembling: “You shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars … and burn their graven images with fire!” (Deuteronomy 7:5). You shall drown them in the waters of the Tiber, “for it is an abomination to the Lord your God. And you shall not bring an abominable thing into your house” (Deuteronomy 7:25-26).

Saint Paul teaches us that man falls into idolatry when, having become incredulous and apostate, he despises the knowledge of God and persists in his refusal to glorify him, “The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth … himself gives to all men life and breath and everything … ‘In him we live and move and have our being’” (Acts 17:24,28).

Idolatry stifles truth in injustice, it darkens the mind and perverts judgment. Then man, at the mercy of the tyranny of his vile passions and his wandering desires, abandons himself to every form of perversion and impurity, “to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever” (Rom 1:24).

Once again Vienna, the glorious capital that was able to resist the advance of the Ottoman Horde with the weapons of light and faith, suffers — dismayed and scandalized — yet another homoerotic and blasphemous provocation. Gay activists, transvestites and transsexuals perform on the Cathedra of St. Stephen, when instead they should receive from the Catholic Church the proclamation of Christ’s liberating Truth and the gift of his saving Love, freely offered to all those who, from the depths of their wounds and repentance, dare to acknowledge their need for salvation.

I join with all my heart the little flock, who are perhaps without a Shepherd but are called to gather in the Heart of the Immaculata to implore from her, through the reparative prayer of the Holy Rosary, God’s forgiveness for the offenses and outrages that have been perpetrated.

The enormity of the scandals will never diminish the Lord’s power: therefore, we have no reason to lose courage or confidence. Faced with the sinister vision of a church that seems to want to rebuild itself against the faith and against the truth of the human person, that supports and promotes that which degrades life and causes the loss of souls, we wish to redouble our faith and tirelessly implore the Immaculate Mother of God and our true Mother: Vitam praesta puram, iter para tutum, ut videntes Iesum semper colletemur. Keep our life all spotless, make our way secure, till we find in Jesus, joy for evermore (Ave Maris Stella). By teaching us to gaze on Jesus, the Virgin Mary enables us to persevere in the faith as an “Acies ordinata, a deployment of militant, suffering and triumphant souls, united to affirm the honor of the Church, the glory of God and the good of souls. Enlistment is open” (Roberto de Mattei).

As we prepare to cross the threshold of a new liturgical year, Saint Bernard places in our hearts and on our lips the words of our unshakable hope, and our certain faith, as our hearts open to the ardor of Christ’s charity, the only remedies against the advance of iniquity:

“Even now, let us celebrate with all our hearts the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ… He came not only to us, but for us… The greatness of the grace he has given us shows us the poverty of our need. We judge the severity of our illness from how much it costs to heal it… The coming of the Savior is therefore necessary. The state of man makes His Presence indispensable. May the Savior come soon!”

I recently watched a program on EWTN which included the following speaker's recent presentation at the Napa Institute. Unfortunately, I can not find it online but I found the following video which is also very good. He discusses another reason, other than the one discussed above by Edward Pentin, as to why many younger folks are currently in favor of socialism.

  3. Ah, the Brits! Meanwhile terrorism continues in Londonistan. Coming to a parish near you some day? Perhaps depending on one's particular Bishop....

Catholics urged to divulge ‘eco-sins’ during Confession as Bishops launch a new environmental campaign

Catholics are being urged to divulge their ‘eco-sins’ during Confession as Bishops launch a new environmental campaign.

As part of an initiative to ensure that the Catholic Church plays a role in tackling the climate crisis, it is encouraging congregants to go to Confession, or “reconciliation services”.

The lay-run campaign, called Journey to 2030, was launched last weekend in partnership with the Bishops’ Conference and the Ecological Conversion Group, a volunteer group for young Catholics.

The initiative aims to “create a sense of urgency towards our ecological crisis and those suffering from its ill effects” as well as promote confession of environmental sins.

As a result, it has created a toolkit for church leaders to help Catholics confess their environment-related sins and is sending out its resources to parishes across the country.

Before entering the confessional, sinners will be offered an environmental ‘examination of conscience’. This works like a checklist that people can go through before confession with prompts, such as ‘have you taken flights unnecessarily?’

Journey to 2030, which was launched in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton, encourages parishes to be hubs for community projects, and offers ideas for activities under the headings: “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.”

Its website also offers resources for an ‘Advent Reconciliation service’, which invite Catholics to reflect on their own impact on the environment in the areas of diet, transport, clothes and electronics before Confession.

Catholics will be asked to consider whether their clothes are fairly traded, how many animal products they consume, and whether they overuse their mobile phones.

The campaign’s lead organiser, John Paul de Quay, told The Tablet: “Care for God’s creation and the dignity of our brothers and sisters is key to our faith, yet as a Church, action was lacking.”

He said he saw there was a need for a long-term Church-wide project that could bring everyone’s existing works together to “ignite the spark that had been steadily smouldering”.

Pope Francis has recently been quoted as considering the addition of ‘ecological sins’ against our common home to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

The Environmental Advisor to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales said that “these advent reconciliation services are a way of recognising that in our increasingly interconnected world the smallest of our actions has effects beyond our local community, and that we cannot truly show love for our neighbours without caring for nature and our common home”.

2030 is the year that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has pinpointed which greenhouse gas emissions must be curbed in order to prevent irreversible damage to the planet.

I believe that eco sins are just an attack on big families and birth control. The globalists have long wanted population control or reduction of the population. To me it represents apostasy from the faith and zero trust or lack of belief in God. Global warming, then climate change, now climate disaster represent a loss of faith and is just a tax for global governance. The vatican has fallen.

Chinese bishop says Catholics must put 'love for homeland' first
    upload_2019-12-4_15-45-40.png
    https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/...holics-must-put-love-for-homeland-first-53789

Beijing, China, Dec 3, 2019 / 04:30 pm (CNA).- A Chinese bishop has said that Catholics in the country must put their loyalty to the state before the faith. Bishop John Fang Xingyao made the statement during a Communist Party sponsored meeting in Beijing last week held to discuss concerning religion in China.

“Love for the homeland must be greater than the love for the Church and the law of the country is above canon law,” said Bishop Fang said Nov. 26 at the Political Consultative Conference on Religions according to reports from Asia News.

Bishop Fang is the head of the Diocese of Linyi, on the east coast of China in the province of Shandong.

In addition to serving as the bishop of Linyi, Fang is also president of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association, the state-sponsored Catholic group which existed in schism with Rome until the conclusion of the controversial Vatican-China agreement struck last year. That agreement gave communist officials a say in the appointment of Catholic bishops and the right to enforce “sinicization” on local Catholic practice.

Fang also serves as vice-president of the Council of Chinese Bishops and sits on the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCCP). Fang was first appointed a bishop by the Chinese government in 1994.

For decades, the Church in China was split between the Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association and the underground Church that was in full communion with the Holy See. The 2018 Vatican-China agreement, the details of which have not been released, was intended to unify the two ecclesiastical communities, although multiple reports out of China have indicated that priests and laity who refuse to worship at government-run churches are have faced increased persecution.

President Xi has embarked upon a comprehensive campaign to bring religion in China under the control of the Communist Party. In 2016, he gave a speech at the National Religious Work Conference, where he explained his demand for the “sinacization” of religion, or the effort to make religion conform with Chinese culture and the Chinese Communist Party line.

In the provinces of Jiangxi and Fujian in eastern China, priests who refused to sign agreements binding them to regulations government have been forced out of their homes, and their churches have been closed. The Chinese government has forbidden non-compliant priests from traveling, and many have been forced to go into hiding.

Under the Chinese "Regulations on Religious Affairs" that were implemented beginning in February of 2018, “unauthorized” religious teachings have been effectively banned in China.

Religious freedom advocates in the U.S. have warned that, due to “sinacization,” persecution of religious minorities and unregistered churches is worse than ever.

Religious persecution in China have steadily escalated in recent months and years. Earlier this year, churches belonging to the country’s state-run “Three-Self Patriotic Movement” Protestant denomination were ordered to replace displays of the Ten Commandments with lists of sayings of President Xi.

Since 2013, crosses have been removed from an estimated 1,500 churches, both Catholic and Protestant, as a part of an effort to “Sinicize” Christianity. New restrictions were put in place by the Chinese government in February 2018, making it illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to enter a church building.

Last month, Chinese authorities demolished a Catholic Church after they claimed the building lacked proper permits. During protests by Catholics at the church, it was reported that Chinese officials claimed that “the Vatican was on our side” and would support them tearing down the churches.

  10. Here is the prophecy by St. Nilus in the Mark M. piece:
St. Nilus lived around 400 A.D and foretold with stunning accuracy what would occur around the time the United Nations would be formed (1945):[IMG]

After the year 1900, toward the middle of the 20th century, the people of that time will become unrecognizable. When the time for the Advent of the Antichrist approaches, people’s minds will grow cloudy from carnal passions, and dishonor and lawlessness will grow stronger. Then the world will become unrecognizable. People’s appearances will change, and it will be impossible to distinguish men from women due to their shamelessness in dress and style of hair… There will be no respect for parents and elders, love will disappear, and Christian pastors, bishops, and priests will become vain men, completely failing to distinguish the right-hand way from the left. At that time the morals and traditions of Christians and of the Church will change… —(This would refer, not to Sacred Tradition, but perhaps the disciplines of the church or longstanding practices such as the form of the Mass, celibacy, and pastoral norms.) The whole prophecy can be read

I know the prophecy and what it says. The issue is whether it is genuine or a recent invention. I don't think it is Church-approved and, more worryingly, there is little evidence of its ancient origin. In fact, I can't find any and a debate in Catholic Answers about it, from some years ago, reveals considerable doubt about it. There is genuine Church prophecy from many centuries ago that is quite prescient, but all this is notable by its presence in documentation that can be traced back to its own time. Indeed, what is happening now has been broadly described by St Paul.

I'd be delighted if it turns out to be genuine, but we must be very careful not to be deceived by false prophecy.

That's a hopeful post, Carol, and thank you very much. You are like Reuters, only you tell the truth!

Both top posts indicate that the progressives in the Vatican are feeling a strong push-back. We mustn't relax, however as the crib might only be a sop to quieten us.

I wonder what is going to happen in China. I was pleasantly surprised that Xi did not intervene in Hong Kong. He had plenty of opportunities, particularly at the beginning. It would be much riskier for him now, as everyone has become emboldened by his non-intervention, particularly after the recent electoral landscape and the explicit support of Trump.

Frankly, I think Xi and his cohorts are terrified. There are reports of unrest on the mainland and with China's increasing economic strains tightening, I would not be surprised if the Communists go the way of the USSR. With the help of God.

All they are doing now is bullying the apparently weak, such as the Christians, presumably in an effort to display their ruthless power, but the people will have noted their failure to assert it in Hong Kong. Removing crosses and holy statues, to replace them with pictures of Mao and Xi himself, will not remove Christ, no matter what the Vatican says and does.

If the commies topple, Pope Francis and his allies are going to look very foolish. The opposite of prophetic. Even now, many bishops on the liberal side are reported to be very uneasy over the Vatican deal. Considering that Pope St John Paul the Great led the final charge against the then seemingly impregnable USSR and was instrumental in its fall, even moreso in my opinion than the great Ronald Reagan, how pathetic and out of touch with political reality will our present oh-so-political pope appear, if history repeats itself.

In a sense what is happening in the Church and the World has for me gone into such another Dimension of Wickedness I no longer really want to discuss it anymore. It is rather like discussing with friends the size of your cancer tumour with friends Why would you want to?

Any Catholic who has not, 'Got it by now', is, sadly never going to get it.

I am afraid it is up to God now to cut the evil tumour out. As for me I can hardly bear to think of these things anymore. The term outrageous evil springs to mind. Even the demons must be utterly astonished at the sheer brazen wickedness of it all.

I’m in the same mode, Padraig. I feel like talking and worrying about it is the equivalent of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

There is only one way out of this and that is going to be led by God and His intervention. I have felt for some time that the most effective thing to do is to pray as hard as I can for our church hierarchy, for our world, and for my family and to do everything I can to be aware of the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of what I should be doing step by step to help God’s plan for intervention to fix this mess
