I'd recommend Piers Paul Read's "Ablaze", an account of the Chernobyl disaster, as it gives a detailed description of the dangers of nuclear power, most particularly the fatal complacency that can easily accompany it. It might not go wrong very often, but when it does... Chernobyl was important enough to feature in the Book of Revelation.

There seems to be a number of false narratives going the rounds at the moment, especially emanating from the current clique enthroned in the Vatican. The first one is false Political. It ascribes the current crisis in the Church to political causes and describes a narrative in this form. People who either engage or support this narrative in its own terms will fall down a deep hole from which they will never ever emerge again. What is this political narrative? It is that we have an avant garde, progressive/ Liberal Pope from South America in total touch with the needs of the poor and the Third World.. He is a Pastoral Bishop who sees the need for Church Revolution and a , 'Paradigm shift' to meet , 'The needs of the times'. He is opposed by reactionary Conservative and Traditionalists led by the USA who are opposed to the need of real change and reform and are financed and underpinned by mysterious super rich bank rollers. The danger with getting involved with this total political type nonsense is that you move to a battle field which the Apostate Catholics in the Vatican want people on , a place where only they can triumph. What we really have to be concerned with is massive attempts to change Catholic Doctrine and Teachings by the back door. In others words in engagement with these heretics should be on theological, not political grounds. I did not think it was possible to be more concerned about Pope Francis's various goings on , but honestly what he is up to is terrifying. Terrifying. We need to be praying very, very much indeed for both him and the Church.
The apparent incoherence of Pope Francis and his apparent 'progressivism' is clearly displayed in his recently declared love for China. China is the country which most damages the environment; executes the most people; forces abortion; imprisons religious minorities (including Francis' beloved non-Christians); harvests organs from political prisoners; oppresses democracy; and is imposing the most draconian facial-recognition surveillance technology upon its people. The most common apparent shared quality of both Pope Francis and China is their complete authoritarianism and utter intolerance of dissenting views. We must interpret all this as representing a papal love for China despite all these evils. These evils are not political, but derive from the bowels of Hell. It is all part of a political Culture of Death, brilliantly summarised in an article yesterday on his 'Essays in Idleness' blog, by David Warren, entitled 'Golf with firearms'. This culture attacks men, it attacks women, by diving the two and repressing marriage and reproduction; by manipulating women into killing their own flesh and blood. Additionally, via the satanic lie of veganism, he points out that the next target of the death culture is farm animals. He astutely notes that after that, death will be visited on the plant kingdom by depriving it of its source of life, Carbon Dioxide. He neatly links it all together as a satanic plot to destroy mankind via its own hand. It is difficult to interpret Pope Francis and many of his statements, lack of statements, actions and lack of actions in the light of the Truth of Scripture and Tradition, but that is the challenge that we must rise to, as Cardinal Sarah warns us. Because there is only Truth and lies. Thank God for Cardinal Sarah, who speaks so many words of wisdom. I'm reading his 'The day is now far spent' at the moment. It is not an easy read, but is a brilliant diagnosis of all that is wrong with man and the world at this moment. With Cardinal Sarah, there is no confusion, nor any quarter given to the liberal side. We must, difficult as it is, interpret Pope Francis in the light of this orthodoxy, no matter how much confusion and apparent heterodoxy there appears to be. The most important thing is to retain orthodoxy and that includes remaining a supporter of the papacy.

Does anyone have any information on that 'prophesy of St Nilus'? For starters, is it Church-approved? I say this because trying to establish its veracity seems sometimes to lead to sedevacantist avenues. There is a short, but detailed, biography of St Nilus in The Catholic Encyclopaedia, but neither it, nor the included list of his works, makes any reference to this, or any, prophesy.

There is an interview with Bishop Athanasius Schneider from March 2019 in 1Peter 5 that is an excellent explanation of what to do about an heretical pope. Worth a read. Especially when he talks about God raising up bishops even if only a few--to guide the flock. I immediately thought of Cardinals Sarah and Burke and others who bravely set forth the truth.
