Mallet does say it is perfectly acceptable to question and reject all this. His commentary is very nuanced, he skillfully balances on the quivering tight-rope between faithfulness to our Pope, as recently outlined by Cardinal Sarah, and criticism of him when he does something with which we faithfully disagree. The quotation by Tim Finnigan is very relevant.
"Sisters Rule": That little jest tells a multitude. Priestesses are not about Christ, how can they be?, this is all a cultural marxist grab for feminist power. Priests are servants, or should be, priestesses will boss us and tell us what to think and do. These are the Amazons.
It is incredibly disappointing that no priest, bishop, or cardinal was angered enough by the desecration of this church to remove this Vatican approved abomination. They are all afraid of the dire consequences that would await them. It would take very holy and courageous man.
This truly strikes me very surreal. How is no one at the the Vatican or in all of Rome calling out gross violation of the 1st Commandment!! For years we have been accused of idol worship with our statues and Immaculate Mary. Have those accusations made too many complacent so as not to see when an actual idol is brought in and bowed to within our walls?? Where are the protesters with banners decrying this sacrilege? Yes we are all praying, pleading to be told directly it is an idol. Have we not been told that? It would seem that may have been met with sheer disbelief, as to why it is still present and not burnt or removed. There should be a massive outcry. Are so many that clouded by respecting cultures that they have become blinded to Christ's commissioning, making disciples of us all to go out to all the world and bring the Good News? I have heard as much from my Dad. We should leave indigenous cultures alone. Yup, we know the great warnings Our Lady has given us. The smoke of satan will reach the top of the Church. And so, how are we to handle that? Are we to challenge it? Or are we to sit back, comfort each other and pray harder than we have ever; remaing confident in seeking to stay true to Christ's one Holy Roman catholic and apostolic Church. How telling will it be if this Synod comes out with a new creed. These ideas just came to me. That would be the job of a Council though, right? How much influence does a Synod really have? Looking back, a Council involves all Bishops and Cardinals. This is only regional.
This from Bishop Barron on today's Gospel: Here’s Jesus’ encouragement: "When they take you before synagogues and before rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what your defense will be or about what you are to say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say." What do we do in the meantime? We maintain a detachment from the world that is passing away, our eyes fixed on the world that will never end. And we speak—confidently, boldly, provocatively—the message of the Gospel, the dying and rising of the Lord.
One of the issues with the Church is that Pope Francis is trying to bring about synodality. This lessens the universality of the Church. I am no expert, but that is what I have been learning from these posts.
Lumena, For me, this video confirms that we are very, very close to the fruition of many prophecies and the Triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart. I do believe that 3/18/20 could be a very key date. The following article was discussed on this thread but I don't think that the link has been posted yet. Oct. 18, 2019 How an Amazon Pagan Rite Brought 48 Years of Demonic Torment, Until Christ Freed Me A former victim of a syncretistic religious ceremony in Brazil warns, “The Church must be very clear about the occult influences that form the basis of many of these native practices.” Edward Pentin | http://www.ncregister.com/blog/edward-pentin/amazon *** Oct. 18, 2019 Ford Foundation Funding for Key Synod Participants Discussed Again Today However, little clarity was provided about the reasons for such funding from the pro-abortion foundation, and its significance was downplayed by synod representatives. Edward Pentin | http://www.ncregister.com/daily-new...-key-synod-participants-discussed-again-today *** May God bless Bishop Stickland. *** Hmmm.
I don't believe any lessening of universality is involved. Does Pope Francis seem like the kind of man who would willingly cede power? If this was true synodality, why is it being held in Rome and not in South America? The Germans have initiated a proper, regional synod and Pope Francis has tried to dissuade them. This Amazon Synod has the appearance to me of a centrally-controlled, universalising synod with the outcome intended to be eventually globally integrated.
We've seen the YouTube video of this already: Garabandal Predicted Synod before the Warning By David Martin There have been a number of prophecies given concerning a coming celestial intervention, during which every person living will be made to see exactly how he is offending God in his life. This intervention, known as the great Warning, will be a correction of the world’s conscience and will be preceded by a period of revolution and a perfidious attempt on the part of the Catholic hierarchy to unite the Church with the world. The historic Amazonian Synod in Rome marks a concerted attempt to unite the Catholic Church with the world, that it might be ecological, ecumenical—one-world. We see this betrayal captured live on film in a deplorable scene inside of St. Peter’s Basilica—a nude Mother Earth idol along with Pope Francis and various cardinals chanting, dancing, and praying before the statue. The synod is all about making “reparation” to “Mother Earth” for the “sins” committed against her. It bows to a planetary idol. Vatican rep denies claims that alleged ‘pagan’ statue is the Virgin Mary The apparitions of *Garabandal, Spain (1961-1965), have spoken at length on the coming Warning, which will occur when the sin of man reaches the peak of iniquity. According to Conchita Gonzalez, the principal seer of Garabandal, the Warning will come on the heels of an ecclesial synod, which she describes as a “small council.” Mother Nieves Garcia, a firm believer in the Garabandal apparitions who personally knew Conchita, went on record as saying that the Virgin Mary told Conchita that soon after a synod, the Warning will occur. Mother Nieves relates the following in an interview in May 2014. “During the apparitions, the Virgin told Conchita that before the future events occur, a Synod will take place, an important Synod. Then Conchita told the story to her aunt. The aunt asked her: “Do you refer to [a] Council?” Because that was the time of the Second Vatican Council. Conchita told her aunt, “No, the Virgin didn’t say Council, she said Synod, and I think Synod is a small council.” “It is impossible for a twelve year old girl without any knowledge and culture to talk about a Synod that didn’t exist and we didn’t know at that time, and in addition she defined the Synod as a “small council.” “I have heard this from Fr. Rafinel, and he heard it from Fr. Pesquera who wrote some of the first books about the Garabandal apparitions. He discussed that with professor Lacques Serre who works at Paris Sorbonne University and he described that Synod as a pre-Warning. Professor wrote him many letters in which he also described that as a “pre-Warning.” The Amazonian Synod indeed is a warning to the Church when we consider its pagan agenda and how it bows to the idol of “Mother earth.” Synodal architects even advocate that we draw from indigenous “ancestral wisdom,” which is occult language that we associate with pagan cultures like the Mayans and Aztecs who murdered their children in infanticide, just as infanticide is now practiced in the Amazon with the approval with some bishops there. Among the graphics used to publicize the Synod is a poster of a topless indigenous woman breast-feeding a weasel to suggest that everything in creation is “interconnected” and that we are “related” to the animals. That Rome should descend to such diabolical depths is a clear testament to the apostasy of our times. These shocking events immediately call to mind Christ’s prophecy concerning the divine wrath of the last days that would ensue in the wake of the abominations that would pollute the Sanctuary. As he says: “When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place: he that readeth let him understand…. For there shall be then great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be. And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be shortened.” (Matthew 24:15-22) The abominations in Rome indeed are inciting God’s wrath. According to Garabandal, God in His mercy will first send the Warning, which if not heeded, will be followed by a great and final Chastisement. In the meantime, let us seek to mitigate God’s holy indignation by praying against the ungodly Synod in Rome. Prayers can move mountains, so let us pray that God’s Holy Mountain can be cleansed of profanation and restored to its former position of honor as it stood before Vatican II. * The apparitions still await the formal sanction of the Church, but Catholics should be encouraged to know that Garabandal is endorsed by respectable clergy just as it was endorsed by St. Padre Pio who encouraged his spiritual children to frequent the apparition site with belief. © 2019, Anthony Stine. And from the latest message given to Luz de Maria.....not as yet officially translated into English: Nature does not want adoration, nature desires that man be in tune with the Divine Will and no longer offend him, that he does not surrender himself to the Devil. That is why nature does not find affinity with humanity, because nature fulfills the function for which it was created by God
Yes, but who's law? The law of men or God? I am not afraid to break a manmade law protecting an idol in the Holy of Holies.
I just posted this on another thread and it seems applicable here: St. Augustine that ‘an unjust law is no law at all.’ St. Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law. Any law that uplifts human personality is just. Any law that degrades human personality is unjust.” And also from St. Thomas Aquinas Laws can be unjust . . . by being contrary to the divine good, as are tyrannical laws that induce men to idolatry or to do anything else that is contrary to divine law. It is not permissible to obey such laws in any way at all” ( ST I-II Q. 96 A. 4
I see where Mark is going with his article, but everything is not so rosy as he paints it. The quote above is a good example. Parts of Pope Francis' magisterial teachings are in contradiction to the magisterial teaching of past Popes. So am I passing the test if I agree that the death penalty is morally wrong because by it's nature it robs a person of their human dignity? So am I passing the test if I think adulterers should be able to receive the Holy Eucharist? Mark also puts too much stress on remaining peaceful. Yes, peace is important, but it is not the be-all and end-all. There is a time for righteous anger. Jesus was not constantly peaceful. He overturned the tables in the temple. He agonized in the Garden of Gethsemane. He died in agony on the Cross. Sometimes you cannot be peaceful. Unfortunately the time for righteous anger is just about every day now.
It isn't very long since the laws of men and God were broadly similar. Everything has changed so quickly and so utterly that it requires a vast change in mindset to follow it. Personally, I have always found it difficult to condemn those who would murder an abortionist. Someone who killed a Nazi campguard involved in killing Jews would have rightly been hailed as a hero, someone who kills a 'doctor' who earns his living exterminating unborn babies is a 'villain'.
Thank you for this post, ETA. I was thinking earlier, woe to Rome. Our prayers may delay a chastisement, but suffering is inevitable. I have a deep sense of foreboding like never before. If this is not the synod that Conchita referred to, I am afraid to think about a synod in the future that could be far worse. Lord help us. Our Blessed Mother must be crying rivers of tears for her children.
By definition, Francis' magisterial teaching cannot contradict a predecessor. To agree with such a teaching would be to reject the Church Triumphant. I think Mallet is slowly coming around to the reality of the situation and I understand the difficulty, having been through it myself. It is incumbent upon all of us to somehow walk the tightrope that commands us to be loyal to the office of the Pope, while not falling for anything that contradicts orthodoxy. Ultimately, David Warren's formula, "I'm staying Catholic no matter what they do in Rome" seems the simplest and best for me. If what I believe was good enough 100 or a 1000 years ago, it's good enough for now.
I agree. Jesus had to cleanse the Temple, and our clergy should step up to the plate and do the same. 'To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven'.
